    • Administration pending unless...
Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”

  2. I think it’s ok and I quite like the black sleeves. I’m the same as Gringo though, not a fan of a fat old bloke in a footie shirt so I’ll be sticking to the casual leisure wear - talking about myself here, not that I’m suggesting Gringo is of course…
  3. Pretty fair summary I think, other than when he took over in the summer of 2019 we were already a bit of a financial basket case, losing huge sums in the Championship including a whopping £0.9m for 18/19. The club had debts of £1.9m at the end of 18/19 including £0.8m of loans from directors, and the accounts only met the going concern requirement because of formal commitments from shareholders to provide further loans. He inherited a financial mess, kept us going with a very competitive team chasing promotion for several seasons, fell short, then left us in a worse mess, on and off the pitch.

  5. At least we will get to know our team . Did anyone guarantee an easy season at any point .?
  6. Ross Morrison suggested on the podcast that they were but maybe I misunderstood.
  7. All the youngsters loaned out are out of contract but hopefully talks are taking place to sign them up. Many of them showed promise when they got game time, including in the North of Scotland Cup, so hopefully we can be competitive in League 1 with a mix of youngsters and experienced guys like Devine and Mckay. We do need to find goalkeepers though.
  8. What you say is true but it's not the whole story. Directors putting money in previously have done so to cover losses they were responsible for/willing to cover. They knew they weren't getting it back and it never put to club at risk financially. Other things did in earlier years such as Stadium costs, but people stepped in to remove that risk. Whatever are thoughts on any of them protecting the club was always the priority. Ross Morrison was different insofar as he was putting money in expecting (needing?) to get it back. He is the first Director to put a charge in place to cover loans given. It is those securities which are likely to be the biggest barrier to investment at the moment. If he didn't have the money to burn and nobody else was going to cover losses then he should have been cutting costs and ensuring existing income streams were secure in order to get the club into a financially stable position. Everyone knows what happened instead and it doesn't need going over again. Looking at accounts the club had next to no debt when he took the reins. Now we have at least £300k of non-director debt and at least £1.5 million of secured debt.
  9. Do we still have all the youngsters who were put out on loan .?
  10. I am aswell, I don’t think we have much choice. There will certainly be plenty of people moaning on here in a few weeks though when they realise we are in for a real tough season.
  11. I don't expect we'll see any more than 2 or 3 signings (mostly loans) beyond what we have. The rest will be academy players. I'm ok with that.

    New kit 2024

Blame Hallmark. It's nothing but a marketing gimmick.

    New kit 2024

I'm not loving it but I think it may look ok on the park (from distance). Up close it just looks very busy and distracting. Hopefully it will have the same effect on the opposition...lol.
  14. Hope it will be in the opposite colours with the blue and white where the black and red is. Hehe.
  15. You're never going to satisfy everyone's tastes when it comes to football shirts. For me it's kind of ok but why did they have to stand so close to the printer when the toner cartridge exploded? I've not bought a shirt in years (seasons) as I prefer the leisure / trainer wear in my old age. Still far too expensive for my pension (£50 -£53 for an adult shirt) so I might buy a biro when I'm next in the shop.
  16. I thought that said Oban for a minute
  17. And we can't afford his hotel bill.
  18. I think you are right about Remi Savage.
  19. It's all down to the lack of money to bring in players from down south and put them up in hotels. If he does stay he will have very little to spend and he will have to work with what he has.

    New kit 2024

I am never that bothered about the kit but after all that has been going on just want to see a full team playing in it.
  21. Hoping we get a modernised edition of the 94/95 kit. Only thing that feels like it'd make sense for an anniversary kit, given that we've already done the Thistle kit the other year and we've burned the chance to do a 94/95 throwback home kit
  22. No. New away kit release next week
  23. The sooner the better. He wouldn't play our own youngsters last season and I can't see his attitude changing so who actually decided that it would be youngsters and locally based players this season?
  24. One thing for sure it’ll be the last Scot Gardiner ordered shirt and his input into how it was designed . If they arrive that is .As he has a habit of forgetting to order things .
  25. Maybe for the best. He could probably be their next boot cleaner.
  26. Sadly I can’t see him accepting anything with the amount of minutes he got under Ferguson.
