Party in the Park

-------ICT Press Release -------

'Party In The Park' will go with a real bang

Caley Thistle will collect their SPL First Division championship trophy on Saturday with the home match with Dundee transformed into 'The Party In The Park'.

The club is calling on fans to come to the stadium early to savour all the entertainment. Chairman George Fraser revealed:"Thanks to the superb generosity of our friends, we're able to offer what promises to be the best title party the SFL has seen. It's a 'thank you' to our fans for sticking by Terry Butcher and the lads and cheering home the champions."

The chairman added: "I want to give a massive thanks to CK Events, Moray Firth Radio and Limelight for giving up time and resources free of charge to make 'The Party In The Park' an afternoon to remember."

MFR will broadcast live from the Stadium from 2 pm and circa 2.20 pm on to the pitch will come The Highland Marchers -- hardy Caley Jags fans who have been walking from Ayr since last Saturday's game. Terry Butcher hopes to march round the pitch with them.

This is followed by live entertainment -- a special musical act which is being kept under wraps to surprise the crowd. This act will also perform at half time.

After the game, we will have a Hampden-style stage presentation on the pitch as the trophy is presented to skipper Grant Munro, with another surprise feature. After the medals are handed over, the manager and players will take time from their lap of honour to be interviewed live on MFR.

Chairman Fraser said:"It's got all the making of celebrating in style. To get the full benefit, supporters should arrive that bit earlier.Bring all the kids, it's a special family occasion and it should be a wonderful atmosphere."

Manager Terry Butcher said:"The players and management team really appreciate people donating their efforts to ensure the day really goes with a swing. They all have friends and family coming to see them collect the trophy and it's nice to see the club, CK Events, MFR and Limelight coming together and putting on a great show."

What no Journey? :021:

Daniel O Donnel

Donnie Munro has a penchant for punching the air - not sure about him shouting come on though.

Was it not something like "CHIG" that he used to shout?

"Take it up" I think Donnie used to shout. - (just waiting for the add ons!!!!!!)

Calum is a County fan so would be interesting to see Runrig do this.

Also if they are having a break Bruce will probably be back in Canada.

But Runrig would be fab. Or Dougie MacLean singing Caledonia.

Whoever it is I don't care - it will be a day to cherish

Torridon and the Staggies ?

Tina Turner would be good

Torridon and the Staggies ?

I was thinking that. Stupid kind of thing they would do.

wonder who the music "special musical act" will be

The dregs from Rock4Life I would imagine......

First of all I don't know who it is going to be, but I do know that it won't be anyone to do with Rock4life. It was another company completely that were organising Rock4life so there is no connection there.

Theres no chance I'll be leaving the pub to go to the ground for 2 on the off chance there'll be a decent band on .

It will of course be something with a "highland" connection I would imagine. Also a band or person that would perform just about anywhere, with little to no equipment. Cant imagine Status Quo setting up and sound checking etc in 15 mins. i'm going to stick my head out and go for the red hot chili pipers

Why would they only have 15 minutes to set up?

I heard it was KT tunstall, but probably not

I think your barking up the richt tree. Them or Blazing Fiddles.

I just hope it's none of that god awful Elgin crud like Small Enclosed Area...... ......

The red hot chilli pipers are currently touring in germany just now so wont be them

Wonder who will turn up? will any of the band have a connection with Barra ?

Or is it the sugar babes.

Rod Stewart?

Dinna worry, i'll be at the Camden Crawl in London that weekend

What do you reckon, the club's guest of honour Marius Niculae is going to be presented with a cheque?

I certainly would not complain with them playing.

If its local it could well be someone like Shutter or 28 Jacks or Bronto Skylift or Face the West?

If its bigger, I'd go with Quo or RunRig?

But I'm going with Peatbog Faeries. Thats my geuss.

Half time act :- Ross County Choir singing "I believe in YOU"

I heard it's the beastie boys to cheer up Jocky

Why do so many assume it'll be rock or pop. Schiehallion are usually free on a saturday afternoon though I did hear that SuBo has been rehearsing with the Legion Pipeband for a Mull of Kintyre esque type number.
