Party in the Park

-------ICT Press Release -------

'Party In The Park' will go with a real bang

Caley Thistle will collect their SPL First Division championship trophy on Saturday with the home match with Dundee transformed into 'The Party In The Park'.

The club is calling on fans to come to the stadium early to savour all the entertainment. Chairman George Fraser revealed:"Thanks to the superb generosity of our friends, we're able to offer what promises to be the best title party the SFL has seen. It's a 'thank you' to our fans for sticking by Terry Butcher and the lads and cheering home the champions."

The chairman added: "I want to give a massive thanks to CK Events, Moray Firth Radio and Limelight for giving up time and resources free of charge to make 'The Party In The Park' an afternoon to remember."

MFR will broadcast live from the Stadium from 2 pm and circa 2.20 pm on to the pitch will come The Highland Marchers -- hardy Caley Jags fans who have been walking from Ayr since last Saturday's game. Terry Butcher hopes to march round the pitch with them.

This is followed by live entertainment -- a special musical act which is being kept under wraps to surprise the crowd. This act will also perform at half time.

After the game, we will have a Hampden-style stage presentation on the pitch as the trophy is presented to skipper Grant Munro, with another surprise feature. After the medals are handed over, the manager and players will take time from their lap of honour to be interviewed live on MFR.

Chairman Fraser said:"It's got all the making of celebrating in style. To get the full benefit, supporters should arrive that bit earlier.Bring all the kids, it's a special family occasion and it should be a wonderful atmosphere."

Manager Terry Butcher said:"The players and management team really appreciate people donating their efforts to ensure the day really goes with a swing. They all have friends and family coming to see them collect the trophy and it's nice to see the club, CK Events, MFR and Limelight coming together and putting on a great show."

wonder who the music "special musical act" will be

The dregs from Rock4Life I would imagine......

First of all I don't know who it is going to be, but I do know that it won't be anyone to do with Rock4life. It was another company completely that were organising Rock4life so there is no connection there.

But the production company involved with Rock4Life tried to get every other production company (and every other business for that matter) within a 100 mile radius to bail them out. So there may be some connection

The press release states "a special musical act", who will perform pre-match and at half time.

So it won't be anything that requires much equipment to be set up and removed, as there won't be time.

Unless the equipment is already set up on a trailer ready to be towed into place. Thats how they do it at Hampden.

Why not the local boys "DRONEZONE". Saw these lads for the first time at Charleston Academy last night and they were very very good. 3 Pipers, Drums, Bass and Keybords. Young lads but very good musicians.

They could set up a stage, where the TV cameras usually are, so nothing has to be removed for the game.

Hope it's Lulu.

No matter who it is or what the volunteers do to make this a special day there will always be someone who's unhappy.

Hope its cancelled .

Why? You already said you weren't going so why would you want it cancelled? If it's going to be broadcasting a radio party for people who can't make it to the game then what's wrong with that?

Its on at half time as well

Oh right, so you don't like live music? Is your preference for the announcer to choose the half time music then? Or is it just music in general you don't like?

When did I say I didn't like live music ?

You didn't.....thats why i was asking why you would rather it was cancelled because you'll have to watch/listen at halftime while your attending. The only three things i can think of i stated above.

I'd prefer the announcer to play music rather than listen to some heedrum hodrum chit that we no doubt will get .

Why assume that. I'm sure Les Kidger will have chosen someone who appeals to all and not some heedrum hodrum chit as you call it.

You have been quite gloriously negative throughout this thread, considering that all the club is trying to do is throw a championship party for he supporters! Lighten up DALNEIGHCALEY!

Your the one that mentioned Schiehallion , plus theres been a lot of folk wanting Runrig / Donnie Munro , and the like .

You may all laugh... but i have it in good authority that the act will be Jedward! and will wear ICT tops.

Some things are just best ignored....rising to it simply adds fuel for the flamers.

Its been laid on free of charge, we don't even know who it is yet and some would rather it was cancelled, quite incredible.

You couldn't make it up, really. Even if the music turns out not to be to everyone's taste, there is the small matter of a football match and a trophy!

I have it on good authority that Grassa and Mike Noble are re-uniting to sing "Bring it on Home" in gaelic.
