Party in the Park

-------ICT Press Release -------

'Party In The Park' will go with a real bang

Caley Thistle will collect their SPL First Division championship trophy on Saturday with the home match with Dundee transformed into 'The Party In The Park'.

The club is calling on fans to come to the stadium early to savour all the entertainment. Chairman George Fraser revealed:"Thanks to the superb generosity of our friends, we're able to offer what promises to be the best title party the SFL has seen. It's a 'thank you' to our fans for sticking by Terry Butcher and the lads and cheering home the champions."

The chairman added: "I want to give a massive thanks to CK Events, Moray Firth Radio and Limelight for giving up time and resources free of charge to make 'The Party In The Park' an afternoon to remember."

MFR will broadcast live from the Stadium from 2 pm and circa 2.20 pm on to the pitch will come The Highland Marchers -- hardy Caley Jags fans who have been walking from Ayr since last Saturday's game. Terry Butcher hopes to march round the pitch with them.

This is followed by live entertainment -- a special musical act which is being kept under wraps to surprise the crowd. This act will also perform at half time.

After the game, we will have a Hampden-style stage presentation on the pitch as the trophy is presented to skipper Grant Munro, with another surprise feature. After the medals are handed over, the manager and players will take time from their lap of honour to be interviewed live on MFR.

Chairman Fraser said:"It's got all the making of celebrating in style. To get the full benefit, supporters should arrive that bit earlier.Bring all the kids, it's a special family occasion and it should be a wonderful atmosphere."

Manager Terry Butcher said:"The players and management team really appreciate people donating their efforts to ensure the day really goes with a swing. They all have friends and family coming to see them collect the trophy and it's nice to see the club, CK Events, MFR and Limelight coming together and putting on a great show."

Why is it that they are presenting the cup on the pitch, and not in the stand amongst the sweetie rus.....I mean eh supporters? That seem to be the way things go these days.

The truth is out there.

Rage against the Machine to warm up the crowd,

Oasis at half time to entertain all with their bouncebackability gig

And after the game The Pogues and the Dubliners to get the party going.

No matter who it is we will all be partying and it will be brilliant. ICT must be the only club winning promotion or a title who are doing this for the fans.

All those involved should be applauded for their efforts, and bought drinks all day and all night, along with the players after they lift the league trophy

Aye , no a bad shout Bauhaus ! :cheer01:

So am i right in thinking that if you turn up at 2 then you are given early entry to the ground and there is a band playing? Or is all of this happening outwith the ground.

Ok guys what I mean is IMHO it will be a 2nd rate act that will be aimed at the older ( main stand ) element of our support and therefore I wont be leaving the pub to be there at 2 p.m. to listen to a crud act . I dont want it cancelled , that was a tongue in cheek remark that as usual got taken out of context . Hope that clears things up for you .

You are very funny DC. None of us have any idea who it may be, but I'm sure it will be a fun day anyway. Lots going on so I wouldn't miss it for the world. I'll go down early and enjoy the party. I really hope you are stuck in the pub missing a fantastic show.

Why not arrive at 1.30 when the gates open?

Didn't even realise they opened at 1.30. Does that mean it is inside the ground then?

I heard we're all going for a BBQ on Leigh Griffiths' patio.

He doesn't have a patio. He lives in a tepee in Caird Park.

Rod Stewart? up for a wee practice before summer gig

You were told not to tell anyone. some folk just cant keep a secret :D

Think we need to realise that its all about the team and the presentation of the championship trophy, thats what the day is really all about, the music is just a sideshow.

Blue Man Group?

I actually filled Les up with Vodka and Coke last night and he told me that it's going to be "Torridon and the Staggies" performing "We're On Our Way" live with a medley from the Dingwall Gaelic Choir as a supporting act.

How may gallons does it take to fill Les up?

Was it Les Fridge you were filling up Charles?

How about these fun loving Hibs supporting lookey likies from Leith. They would be easy to get on and off quickly!

Blue Man Group? :)

That would actually be awesome! haha

Red Hot Chilli Pipers? This was mentioned by someone who guessed it could be them, they were meant to be playing up here when the New Year party was cancelled and it would be incredibly easy for them to get onto the pitch and set up during the half time period.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are total P!SH!!! If the club go down the route of 'teuch' they'd be better getting the far superior Peat Bogs but seeing as they've got 9 members, thats quite unlikely.

#0000FF - Franz Ferdinand?
