Dear Caley Thistle board, Please listen to your fans and do not vote for a newco. They wouldn't vote for us! Thanks

new Rangers going down to div 3 would allow other teams to grow and challenge for 2nd so by the time they get back up the league it would be a lot more competitive. I personally am angry that they were not paying their tax, yet spending millions on players which forced celtic to do the same and thus turned the SPL into the Old Firm show. It is also frustrating that nobody at ibrox has even admitted they were wrong. But caley thistle fans most of all should know the heartache felt when a team you follow all your life is closed by some dodgy moneymen. saying that I doubt a glasgow merger is on the cards.

The news isbad for dunfermline. the spl rules say that once relegation is confirmed, any subsequent place is filled by the team that finished 2nd in Div 1

No they don't.

Yes they do. See, I can play this game as well.

I'd be more inclined to give it credence if it was the Sun. It's a funny old world.

Read the Daily Record article this morning and you have to give reporters credit for producing stories from next to nothing. Three pages of bluster from a couple of lines apparently said by a "Sky Insider" which, as far as we know, could be wee Jimmy who makes sure the cameraman doesn't trip over the cables at Ibrox. You really have to ask why they weren't reporting so heavily on the rumours a couple of days ago that Sky had given the SPL assurances that a deal would be done regardless of the Rangers situation!!!

Don't know what's worse, the Daily Records continued attempts to fight the Rangers "cause" or that the story will be an irrefutable "Fact" in the eyes of the readership by the time most people have finished their breakfast.

This from the paper colloquially known as the Daily Ranger. No vested interest there then.

£110m??? Fine, that money would be recouped by the lesser collective costs of extra stewards and police etc at any game that would have involved Rangers!

Having fitted quite a few of their dishes over the years, does that make me a "Sky insider"?

Anybody fancy an exclusive??

Ive had three seperate texts yesteray and this morning saying sky will drop the spl and follow the bigger news story, showing Rangers coming back through the divisions. Is this just rumour, as they are all from friends based in Englandshire, and they dont know each other. Ones a Bolton fan, a Newcastle fan and a QPR fan. WTF

Personally I dont believe a word of it but if true then I wont have a need to subscribe to Sky.

If Rangers were in Div 3 it is highly likely that there would be a TV deal with the SFL to show their games - but that doesn't mean they would drop the SPL altogether.

However, the amount TV companies would pay to an SPL without Rangers would be slashed, no doubt about it.

ESPN MIGHT be keen to cover more SPL games in the future after being outbid for rights to show games from the Premiership beyond 2012/13.

You think Sky want to become known as "the rangers tv channel"? Don't be silly.

Walter Smith is now trying to buy the club. I guess it will be tax payers money he will use thanks to his EBT!

Those rules are apparently effective from 14 May 2012 - one day after the SPL season ended. What did the old ones say? I'd imagine much the same but I thought i would be a pendantic git!

Rule H5 hasn't changed

DUFF AND PHELPS, the administrators of Rangers Football Club, issued the following statement today.

Paul Clark, joint administrator, said: "A meeting of creditors was held at Ibrox Stadium today at which creditors voted on a proposal for a Company Voluntary Arrangement issued on May 29, 2012.

"Due to a vote against the proposal by the principal creditor, HM Revenue and Customs, the proposal was rejected.

"The decision was relayed to shareholders of the company at a subsequent meeting at the stadium.

"As a result of that decision, which was known in advance of today's meeting, the consortium led by Charles Green is obliged to buy the club's business and assets and that transaction will be completed imminently.

"As announced previously, a liquidator will undertake the liquidation of The Rangers Football Club plc but this process will not begin until the period of administration is brought to an end formally in due course.

"The decision of the creditors' meeting has been a major disappointment for Rangers supporters and this was not our preferred outcome as administrators.

Sorted it for you!

Just a wee reminder that when quoting from other sites you should not quote in full and you should provide a link to the original article. Aside from the copyright issues, it's just good manners, especially as we expect the same when others quote from this site....thanks muchly.

As part of the transistion to Newco "Glasgow Rangers FC" will become "The Rangers FC"

"Ahm gan tae see The Rangers at The Big Hoose wi' The Peepul"

I'm fairly certain they were called The Rangers Football Club until quite recently, say 20 years ago. I'm even more certain they never had Glasgow in the name.
