Great result for ICT, and back to back clean sheets too.

Bring on the Morton, treble still one by the way, can any other team in Scotland boast that fact?

Onwards and upwards!

How about Aberdeen, Hearts and St Johnstone?!

Played that game pretty much the same way as we played the Hibs game....but against better opposition.

I don't think we really "sat back" as such.  We got our noses in front and then as the game progressed we didn't over commit ourselves going forward....and in doing so didn't bring any extra/unnecessary pressure to bare on the defence.

Tremarco was the stand out for me today...by the end of the game none of the St Johnstone players looked keen to try and make any kind of move down the left for the fear of encountering him.

Thought Marley did really well today also.  Didn't shine due to a lack of outlets going forward as the game wore on, but he probably ran (quite literally) more time off the clock than anyone else.  He's also getting more accustomed to dropping back to cover when Shinnie pushed forward and had a couple of good defensive tackles.

Nick Ross took a smack to the face which resulted in a broken tooth and a burst lip, but he was in good spirits after the game and a dentist somewhere's about to make a few quid.

Whoever gets the managers job really is going to feel like all their Christmases have come at once.

Completely off Topic I see the incomparable Carl Froch  did a bit of mouth thumping  tonight

Yet another clean sheet and three points - and laid a semblance of the Perf bogey. That could only have raised our profile to potential managers.

Tremarco was man of the match. Saw him play at the clach where he couldn't kick a ball, but clearly he has class. Regardless of the result, I thought caley were good to watch. Just wish the done had held on for the draw. Looking upwards, no threat from below based on recent form.

Can I ask - How is Shinnie fitting in on the right ? - Was there any evident tactical / positional change in comparison to Butcher era ? Did we swap the wide players ? Were the substitutions timely and/or effective ?

i thought Marley Watkins did pretty good, especially in the first half. Kept the ball under pressure in difficult areas really well. That said I still think he'd be suited to playing in the middle.   Great 3 points yesterday!

Seems like the wingers were asked to do more defensive work as part of the game plan, in the context of the 4-0 defeat.  Looking forward to seeing Watkins do what he does best next week - running at the defence and using his pace.

Great start to game with the goal, ST were very hard in their tackles lots of hand into people in them which ref did not seem to bother about

we played some nice balls to foot at times, held on well

great result

Trebble ? no I dont think so but realisticly we have at least a cup chance if the team and fans can get to Edinburgh in Feb

Onward and upwards

9 points ahead of this stage last season and 10 goals less conceded. The facts are starting to speak for themselves and I no longer feel like I am tempting fate when I make predictions for Europe/top 2. It might not be pretty at times but good teams win ugly. I think the players also believe it now and we fear no-one. We have a bit more strength in depth too this year and leaders all over the park. Can't wait for the next game and building on our winning run.

Fitting in pretty well and made some good runs forward but defensively, he was immense yesterday. The same could be said of the whole back 4. Certainly does not look out of place at right back and, to me, he offers more attacking threat than Raven and is more secure defensively.

Substitutions could have been made earlier. Nick Ross should have been subbed earlier and Doran took a knock which probably should have seen him replaced sooner. Thought at times today, the lack of a manager showed on the touchline as Shearer not very vocal.

Just brilliant- now wondering how Raven would do at left back - interesting??!!

So proud of the CALEY chants in the last few minutes ! ( Need more of this please)

Or have I just said the wrong thing :ictscarf:

Regarding the comments on Watkins I have which is  "my wont to be",  controversial.

I have watch wing play since 1949 and I was a winger myself  many, many, moons ago.

Not keen on touch line hugging wingers. It's very old fashioned concept

The modern idea is to have right or left sided midfielders who work in support and defence.  ( known as box to box midfielders ) The idea is to have overlapping fullbacks or wing backs .

I feel that wingers that hang around waiting for a pass is a very specialised job. These players need good positional sense and extreme pace. .

So unless you have a Valencia, Giggs,  Lennon or Wallcott. I feel we should stick to a working right or left midfielders working with overlapping fullbacks. Sometimes a winger doing little defensive work is a bit like playing with 10 men.

Could someone remind me how I can "ignore" certain posters so I don't have to read such bo££ocks

I'm surprised noone else has mentioned the choice of shirts that were on show. Reminded me of days of yore when two Highland League sides wore similar colours. However i'm not surprised that the team in blue won.... ;)

What is really effective is how he will sometimes cut in with pace rather than go for width and the cross.  With Billy then doing a diagonal run to the right in front of him it creates a few options.  I can see goals coming from this.

Well the team has responded well to Butchers departing with two good wins

Good first half where we dominated but we sat back in the second which was very disappointing as we should have finished the game off

I really hope Foran isn't in the plans for an assistant manager or coach and he sees out his playing days as a player, just think the added responsibility won't be beneficial to the team

After that we'll whin knows but he will need to get his coaching badges first the fact that he's been a great captain doesn't mean he will be a great coach/manager, just look how Willie Miller turned out at Aberdeen

Nothing wrong with the tactic.  If the opposition don't put a player on the wide winger then they are asking for trouble as otherwise it is a regular outball that can be guaranteed to turn defence into attack.  If you've got players with pace in the team the width this gives you is a distinct advantage.  It can be a useful way of getting messages from the bench as well!

Watkins really seems to have divided opinion following yesterday. His workrate his 2nd to none and he did a lot of effective work tracking back but he possesses almost no skill and im yet to see him convincingly beat a man on the wing.

Honestly thinking that you are on the wind-up now!
