Fantastico

very happy with this deal ....

from the article

James has been courted strongly by another SPL club but has turned down a pre-contract deal elsewhere to continue his career with Caley Jags.

... waves at Terry  ..... oops, wrong smiley  :finger:

What? Turned down Hibs?  They're a much bigger club though.  In fact, this year, there's even a possibility of making top six!?!?

Excellent news, backed up by a tremendous performance today

Now Draper.....

That's great news as above now for Draper - will give a strong squad going into next season  an additional striker in the summer would be my wish

I thought he looked a stronger player since his injury today, great news he's a class act and we'll need him

Could be a very significant event for us, glad that JV has rejected the lure of a 'bigger' (!?) move but I think it also says that Inverness is a very special place, and the team a special 'band of brothers'

Defo a good bit of business for the club and good on JV for signing up.

Sensible move by James. After his injury he needs to settle down and regain his position in the team. Hibs are unlikely to go anywhere so that was a big risk. He has good mates in Inverness and if he looked to Owen Tudor Jones we would have seen a sad decision maker.

Ross Draper is almost certain to sign given his decision to buy a house here and the fact Yogi indicated he was optimistic that he would. Ross is part of a good group of guys and retaining a settled group augurs well for next season. Yogi and Russell are settling in and when everything gels, we can get moving again.

Fair play to James that he retained his loyalty for Inverness.

Anything on Hibs.net about this?

Anything on Hibs.net about this?

Nope ha ha but there is a superb Derek Adams seethe thread!

Molto grande!

But it's not that I didn't expect this. Isn't it telling that nearly all first XI players with ending contracts extended AFTER Butcher left?

I'm not a fan of Hughes but fair play to him and the club for getting these lads signed up quicker than usual. He obviously likes the look of what he's got to work with.

Plus having all these midfielders on the books means it's less likely McBride will ever sign for us.

Just had a read, they dislike him as much as we do

Wasn't too hopeful of JV signing a new deal with us amid other interest so great to see him signed up.

Interesting clip on MFR from Vincent: said that Hughes' style of play and Latapy's help in how to play the attacking midfield role were key to him staying. So, would he have stayed for Butcher/Malpas?

I have it on good authority that Hibs did make him an offer but at less money than he was on at ICT!.

Hibs are not that well off. They paid us good money for the Three Mercenaries and with dropping crowds need to watch that their debt situation is one the soon to be debt free Hearts gets the final laugh. Historically Hibs have at times been a big club. If Butcher does not get them a top 6 finish they will rely on getting it right at the start of next season. That is high risk because in the season afterwards Rangers, and possibly Hearts, will be back with a bang. Hibs is not really an attractive option for ambitious players.

Really?

I find that very hard to believe.  Especially considering Judas and his wee sidekick will know how much he was earning with us.
