Roger you seen it as I seen it. I dont know whats going on with our team but somethings amiss. There was no communication among players. Indeed it was like watching ten guys who'd only met today for the first time. Something is very wrong at ICT. A couple of weeks ago there was talk about how the managers and players got round the table and had an open and honest discussion about the problems and the word was that all had been sorted and everyone was friends again. After then we went out and hammered Motherwell and were close to beating Celtic. Today we're back to pre then. Where is the team that works for each other? The team that fights for everything and anything? The team that punches above its weight? Where is the TEAM? The last time I seen an ICT team so disjointed was when Charlie Christie was struggling to get everyone to play around Niculae.2 points

Another pointless poll. Can I start a poll asking how many people are interested in pointless polls? Then start another one asking how many people are interested in pointless polls about pointless polls?1 point

Well said DD! You've called it spot on. The only reason I find any interest in this topic is totally academic since I followed and studied in great detail the entire merger process which is still of that kind of interest to me. Other than that.... * A merger took place in 1994. * Some people didn't like it. Their prerogative. * But all the same it resulted in Inverness being projected from the Highland League to the SPL in a single decade and around five times as many people come to watch football in Inverness now, and in a 7700 capacity stadium, compared with the pre merger days - so who gives a toss!!! "They will none of them be missed!"1 point

Someone famous once said "there are lies, damned lies and statistics". Far be it from me to give Dougal a lecture on research methodology but I think everyone other than him will recognise that his conclusion is complete and utter nonsense. He refers to only 24 folk voting. Had nobody voted at all then presumably he would have claimed that there were even more refuseniks because they have all stayed away from having anything to do with ITC. Had 240 voted then he would have claimed that the high number of people who thought there were a lot of refuseniks proved that was the case. What ever the result, Dougal claims it proves his point. Get real, Dougal. The fact that only 24 people voted demonstrates that the vast majority of people who have read any of this thread think it is such a non issue that they can't be bothered to vote. The vast majority who watched the 2 former clubs are now fully behind ICT and delighted about the success the merged club has had. Some people have refused to watch the merged team - how many, I neither know nor care. What I do know is that I have greatly enjoyed the rise and exploits of ICT over recent years and those who have not shared the thrills over the years have missed out and only have themselves to blame.1 point

I think you're gonna have to explain your logic there. Surely the most relevant stat from the poll is that over the course of a week, hundreds of people have viewed it but only 24 took part. I'm afraid the fact that only 24 have voted leads me to think that the number of original Caley or Thistle fans on this forum are neglible and backs up my claims about the numbers of refuseniks dougal What utter b0llocks, your foggy eyes and misty brain cant see it can they? nobody cares anymore, well nobody except you.1 point

Oh for the love of God perhaps a better poll would have been - 'How many people still (or ever did) care how may refusniks there are?' (aside from Dougal) If people don't want to support ICT in one way or another very little is going to change their minds, regardless if it is due to allegiances to clubs that no longer exist or perhaps they find TCS a bit cold, maybe it's due to the crap pies or indeed that Tokley scares them. Whatever the reason and however many there are, why give a :******: they have made their choice and I for one see that as the end of it.1 point

Its a pity they weren't better at designing flags in those days as we could have pinched the idea and used it. Do we have to get drawn into the Jacobite thing, which had a lot more to do with religion than Scotland v England in fact it was the Scots who created the union (awaits red dots from thick people) How about designing a CTO flag.1 point

I don't think there is much doubt that Ryan Esson is, by a mile, ICT's best ever keeper. It is only a scandal that this has not been recognised at International level. OK, I know that McGregor and Gordon are rightly numbers 1 and 2 but why Ryan can't make the number 3 spot is a disgrace.1 point

I am neither pro or against Rangers or Celtic or whoever, in Europe, but will support any Scottish team in Europe with a majority of mainly UK players - which neither Rangers or Celtic do, or many of the English teams - hence my derision towards them. Our Scotland team is poor, due to the huge wages paid to foreign players in the Premier Leagues - hence our home grown players not getting their chances to shine. Having watched the "foreign stars" on Wednesday night at our Stadium, I conclude that our home grown talent is not far behind those over-paid big-headed "stars" but, as a "unknowing" female OAP, (despite watching footie since age 5 or so) who am I to make a comment. I wait in hope for the day (which wont come, I suppose,) when a cap will be made on the number of foreign players allowed per team - oh dear - human rights, equal rights, etc! Come on, IHE, support me in this, please. (OK, ICT has its own share of Irish/English etc, but not to the same extent - posters can slate me as much as they want but ICT has more Scots than "outsiders")(and I value the Irish especially highly )(for more reasons than one!). Please dont shout me down, everyone, I believe many of you support the same views.1 point

I'm not trying to get in an argument about it Charles, if they dont want to attend games I don't really care. Nowhere do I say they are "rabid die hard fans" i'm saying that maybe a few were and others were now and again fans. Like I said in 17 years a lot of ICT fans have had kids etc and spread the word and got they're kids and kids friends attending games so attendances have grown steadily over the years. I'm sure you remember the 94/95 season once the initial novelty subsided there were attendances around the 3-400 mark. The flip side of that, the fact there is more than 6 people who dont attend games due to the merger, wether they were die hard fans or now and again fans (from both clubs)its also likely they passed their thoughts onto they're kids and now the kids (some of them at least) don't support ICT. So personally I think the knock on effect has seen ICT lose out on a not insignificant number of fans. Thats all I'm really getting at. Also at my workplace there are indeed at least 20 people who no longer set foot at an ICT game. PM me Charles and i'll let you know where it is and i'm sure you'll agree with me! One last thing, I barely recall anyone who went to highland league games that didn;t have their "big team" and if the merger was the excuse they were looking for to go and watch them more often, then thats fair enough! But I do agree with you that they are not missed. Their money maybe, but they have not hindered ICT in any way and I also agree that the merger was the only way to go forward.-1 points

I think you're gonna have to explain your logic there. Surely the most relevant stat from the poll is that over the course of a week, hundreds of people have viewed it but only 24 took part. Yngwie it hardly takes a brain surgeon to work it out but here goes just for you Sir 11/24 which is less than 50% voted for very few refuseniks(0-50) while 13/24 more than 50% voted for considerable numbers Are you trying to tell me the votes have somehow been rigged?? I'm afraid the fact that only 24 have voted leads me to think that the number of original Caley or Thistle fans on this forum are neglible and backs up my claims about the numbers of refuseniks For the record there are four more members on this site that think there are more refuseniks than I do so try and work that out if you can Finally I would just like to point out yet again for Tearlach Bannerman I've never set foot in either Telford St or Kingsmills but don't let that stop you trying to stereotype me dougal-1 points
