A lot of good posts on this and a lot of negative, and frankly predictable posts on this subject. On the assumption that we all want the club to grow and improve, although I am not so sure, all the posters actually want this, what good at the moment would replacing the management team at this time do. The constant changing of managers does no club any good and as someone pointed out, not only would we have to pay off the current management team, but then pay the new manager to get his own staff in which we simply cannot afford. Sure the management team have made mistakes in both signings and tactics, and worryingly for me at the moment, cannot seem to get the tactics sorted, butlet's be realistic about our financial situation and are we really any worse that the teams immediately around about us, Hibs, St. Mirren, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen, I don't think so. This may be seen by some who then class me as a "happy clapper" but I would rather be classed as one of those than be one of the depressed negative posters who preach doom and gloom on here season after season.3 points

Blah blah blah sack the manager and all that. Feck off! As I said on another thread I think people forget what size of club we are, how much money we have and what support we get. Who would you bring in?? Where would you suggest the money comes from to pay the management off? Yeah we have had a generally poor season, but the injury list has been horrendous and we have hardly(if at all) put the same starting 11 out for 2 consecutive games? I would suggest people calm down, realise Butcher is going nowhere and support the club in staying in the SPL. If you think about the drastic changes made in the summer there was no way we could have expected instant success. Let's achieve safety. Regroup in the summer and build on what we have. For the negative posters - get a grip ,i may not be happy with results but I don't jump in and say sack someone - it's not the answer. The future is good for the club.3 points

Hellooooo... Wake up call... Our last 5 matches Celtic Celtic Dunfirmline Rangers Dundee United And you're calling for Butcher to go? May I add to that we had a 7-game un-beaten run prior to those 5-games, including wins over third placed Motherwell and a good Hearts side and our SPL bogie team, Aberdeen. And you're calling for Butcher to go? No midfield... Hayes and Doran are both injured. We lost Davies back to Wolves in January. OTJ isn't fully fit and was probably lucky to make the bench yesterday, not to mention the long-term lay off of Andrew Shinnie. Our only fit midfielders are Tansey, Ross and Foran. And you're calling for Butcher to go? I'm not going to dispute the fact performances and 'entertainment value' this season are anything to shout about. And yes, this is now Butchers team. But stop f***** crying over Grant Munro and Russell Duncan. They're gone. Get Over It. Anyway, who are you going to replace Butcher with? Pele? Robbo now he's free? Or maybe you fancy ABV instead....3 points

Tonight was brutal. Anyone thinking we're safe in 10th place is deluded. Two wins for the Pars and we're right back in the mire. Tonight was my tenth league game this season and I've yet to see a victory. We were promised a new style of football after the night of the long knives in the Summer but tonight was as poor a performance as I can ever remember. We are totally devoid of creativity, heart or any apparent desire to perform. I haven't heard Terry's latest rant but can imagine it will be along the lines of the last few. I'm completely unimpressed with what's been served up this season and I'm really struggling to see where we're heading with the playing staff. We seem to be a club that's lost it's soul and have opted to assemble an assortment of journeyman on short term contracts or loanees who have no real allegiance to the club or the city. Seriously disillusioned......2 points

Robert B Sherman, half of the famous songwriting duo behind a string of Disney musical hits, has died. One of his most famous co-creations was the word supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. His song spawned the famous Sun headline after Inverness Caley's victory over Celtic SUPER CALEY GO BALISTIC CELTIC ARE ATTROCIOUS1 point

What's more to the point is, is there anyone out there who finds ICT always win when they go? If so, where have you been lately and what are you doing on Saturday?1 point

Well spotted. I enjoy any sort of reminder of that victory, no matter how tenuous the link. In recognition of his contribution to ICT folklore, perhaps we should play the song over the tannoy on Saturday.1 point

We will always be told that the timing is crap. Timing was good in the 1070's but we were told then that the timing was crap. We were also told a whole heap of arguments why Scotland should not be independent by the government while at the same time the same government classified a report that concluded that Scotland would flurish under independence and be considerably richer than England, one of the strongest nations economically in Europe and be in surplus. Fast forward to today and we again are told the timing is crap and the same reasons that were argued to decieve Scotland then are the same reasons that roll of the tounge of the government today. It's a total nonsense.1 point

I'm not sure that anyone is seriously calling for a change of manager, maybe Sonam. What is being questioned is do we believe he is going about his job in the best manner possible within the constraints. I think that is the question that is dividing the fans here. I believe he has been fantastic for this club in the last couple of years, what I do see as an issue is whether he and Mo can look outside the box and change the way we go about our business on the park. There does seem to be loyalty issues, despite some players appearing to do very little on the park, they still get on the team sheet. I know there is a fine line between getting it right and making a pigs ear of it, but surely he has had plenty of time to sort out some of these issues. They have not all become poor players overnight, therefore if they are following his instructions, then are the instructions good enough, and are his choices of player good enough. I am fed up hearing about Munro/Duncan being in the past, but hey, it was Mr Butcher that made that decision and that is a part of the jigsaw that has us in this predicament, alongside injuries, suspensions and simple bad luck. It won't take a lot for folk to stop turning up on a saturday, and the VFM factor is pretty low at the moment, I even heard one fan say he was going shopping with his missus on Saturday instead of the Killie game...............now that is taking it too far, but you get the drift. I'm sure we are all puuling the same way, just some are pulling harder than others.1 point

I think Gillet has been best at centre-half this season. We've looked most solid with him and Golobart in the middle. I've only seen Gnakpa a couple of times but I wouldn't want him at right back. It was bad enough watching him take five or six touches in United's box last night, I can't even think about him doing it in our box.1 point

Esson Tudur-Jones Peirmayr - Golobart - Gillet - G.Shinnie Gnapka - Tansey - Foran Sutherland - Winnall Time to shut up shop, so Tudur-Jones comes in as the libre sweeper position, with Golobart and Gillet on marking duty. Piermayr and Shinnie are the two most mobile of our full-backs. Tade needs some time out, so Winnall gets his chance. Quite easy to alter this team, if we look like winning. However, stopping the goal deluge must come first. This is the team to do it.1 point

One word again - Narcissist. Butcher is probably the most likeable, charming, charismatic and consuming manager that has ever graced the Highland football scene. He is a media darling and a figurehead for ICT. He puts us on the map across Britain. He can certainly talk the talk. But he cant walk the walk. He is sadly lacking in the game of man management, is bereft in the skill of decision making and tactically is poor. His reaction is to chop and change and always picks out a scapegoat or lays the whole blame on the team. I suspect that he will change it again and he may take back in Williams, Tudor Jones, Winnal and even Gnapka - and we get a result and he says "I told you so". We have won quite a few games this season becos of individual displays. The best role for Butcher would be as a Director of Football but we cant afford that position any more - plus the fact that his personality suits the needs of Mr sutherland & Co. But he will lead us to survival and we may even pick up after the split - and he will be there next season. It will also be heralded that we have had to endure a nightmare season where injuries to key players have had a real influence but that does not detract from the woeful emploment of tactics at times. Are you trying to tell me that Tade, Ross, Sutherland and McKay are happy to play in the roles that they have been given - are they feck but they will not speak out as they know what the reprisal will be. And how do you think that Williams and Shinnie are feeling this evening - sitting on the bench - watching a half fit loanee and a struggling legend taking their place.1 point

I watched this game on SkyPlus since I was out this evening. I wish I had just gone to bed. I suppose Butcher will see it as an improvement. After all, we gave Rangers a three goal start last week; tonight we only gave our opponents a two goal start before we bothered to turn up. This match proves once and for all that our management team have no concept of tactics, nor a gameplan. For the umpteenth time this season we were absolutely annihilated in midfield. All our opponents know that, at the first sign of pressure, our defensive players will pump high balls towards McKay, who can't possibly win any of them. It's not coincidence that we have struggled since we lost Davis, who was always willing to take the ball into feet even with an opposing player shadowing him. Tansey is supposed to do that job, but he's not up to it - in fact he also struggles with passing, tackling and, looking at the second goal, with marking as well. As for the idea to start with Sutherland and Tade providing width, well the mind boggles. Sure, it's not a bad idea if you push them up against the full backs and play high balls at them, but we don't do that for some reason. Both wanted to drive inside, leaving space for an overlapping full-back...except our full-backs don't go forward. So we have no width, and therefore keep punting high balls at McKay. In the final third, there is zero finesse or flair. By God, we miss Andy Shinnie. Fair play to Meekings, who I thought dealt with Mackay-Steven relatively well. The big problem - AGAIN - was in the centre. I think Golobart lacked match sharpness. As for Tokely...I think it's fair to say that he will be put out to pasture this summer. He just isn't up to it anymore at this level. What particularly struck me tonight was the number of moronic free kicks we keep giving away. Other teams manage to make their little nudges and shirt tugs subtle, so why can't we? If an opposing player is stuck in the corner, unsure what to do with the ball, he can be assured that one of our guys will hurtle into him and gift him a free kick. Wise up, for goodness sake. So, in conclusion, we are in a complete and utter mess. This, for me, is the worst state we've been in since the last few months of Brew's second spell. We've definitely taken a step back this season - let's hope it only remains one step back, and things don't get worse. But I'm dreading Saturday. Surely, surely, Jones and Winnall can't be any worse than the mob we currently have on the pitch?1 point

Unfortunately I do believe there is some credibility in the opening post. A lot of people need to take off the tinted specs. His team tactics and substitutions are sometimes baffling. If he thought that playing long balls up to a small striker was a good idea then he should think again, god knows he has had enough goes at it to see it won't work. Yes the players must shoulder a lot of the blame, but the lack of quality is embarrassing. We had passengers all over the park tonight. Tansey was terrible first half, Foran should have been hooked, Ross was well, just Ross, totally ineffective, Shane struggled to get the ball out from under his feet all night, McKay got no service and Tade was woeful and not for the first time. Thats more than half the team not playing and that put's too much pressure on the defence. Golobart was just back from a serious injury and tried his best, Rossco was just Rossco and Meekings and Gillet stuck manfully to their task. Esson never covered himself in glory either. So, who will Terry blame this time. He picks the players, he got rid of better players and he decides how we play. Let's blame United for being better than us. We matched them until they went ahead, then we went backwards.. No I'm sorry, but sonam is just saying out loudly what a lot more folk are feeling. Terry, take a look at yourself and ask if you could have done more to prevent another humiliating defeat. We have never had such a weak back line as this ever. This is statistically our worst defensive combo yet. I know there are reasons for it, but we are unattractive to watch and your style is turning people away from the gates in their droves.1 point
