Every day the behaviour of those involved in and with Rangers becomes more embarrassing. From corporate financial mismanagement to blatant abuse of the rules at board level, we now have their manager causing carnage with his attacks on the SFA Panel that reviewed their case. As a consequence we have Glasgow based tabloids hanging and flogging them all over their back pages and so called supporters threatening 'direct action' (violence and abuse) against them and SFA employees. Hurry up and die. You shame my nation!6 points

And had we a team of Scottish players and churned out the season we just have then we'd have folks on ranting that we were insular and should be looking beyond Scotland to sign players...in fact, I'm pretty sure the later is a point that came up for discussion on here a few years back.5 points

Putting aside this whole 'professional' thing. Yet again the whole support issuse raises it's head. I made a post several months ago almost identical to the one I'm about to make but here goes again. I don't understand why some people get lambasted and told they are not supporting the team for voicing their unhappiness in certain aspects of this season. If people are unhappy then surley venting their opinions and issues on an internet forum if perfectly appropriate. These same people can then still go to the games and wholeheartedly support the team. I have been unhappy with many aspects of this season and yet my wife and I still make all the home games some away games, clap, (sometimes) sing and do our best to get behind the team. If I dare to criticise TB or his decisions on a website am I not supporting the team? In a nutshell I find it rather arrogant to say that some people do not support the team if all they are doing is voicing their opinions. I mean look at how many people walked out after the second Aberdeen goal went in, are all thise people only proclaiming to be supporters? The missus and I support one another but we don't always agree!4 points

It crossed my mind early in the second half on Saturday that there were no Scottish players in the starting 11 and I opened up my piece in the P&J with this nugget of information. It is quite remarkable and would have been hard to imagine not that long ago. Doing what I do with the P&J, occasionally people will come up to me with suggestions regarding what I should write about. One recent matter that was raised with me is that ICT have been spending less at the U19 level on players from outwith the Inverness area who need accommodation in Inverness paid for during the season. If this is true then we can expect less and less young players (who are more than likely to be Scottish) coming through to the first team squad. That's a worry. Yes, we would like to see more Scottish players and local ones would be better still. It's got to be more meaningful watching a team where some of the players went to school with you or lived around the corner from you. At the SPL level I think you will need some imported players but wherever the team comes from we need players the fans can connect with. Lots of short term loans ar eunlikely to achieve that.3 points

Could someone please organize for IMH to meet up with Oddquine for a few pints at the Innes asap. There seems to be a definite attraction between the two. They also seem to almost deserve each other in a weird sort of way. Could someone also video the event and post it on here for posterity. Thanks in anticipation.2 points

My worry would be that some potentially good local/Scottish players are not getting the chance with instead, mediocre foreigners are taking their places.1 point

As long as they score goals, win games and keep us in the SPL; i care not a jot about their nationality!1 point

Good.a lesson learned, then! Nope......just a lot of boredom living somewhere where it's so quiet, the only time you know its not Sunday is when the Archers Omnibus doesn't come on the radio.. Have to say, there was a lot more irritation (I don't really do anger unless I am three sheets to the wind..and I try not to post smashed, because then I can't spell. ) after your "brief therapeutic intervention" than before. On the rare occasions I do angry, I just abuse the dog verbally. He now thinks his first name starts with an F and ends in off. I do realise what forums are about...but I kinda thought this forum would be a break from the polarised opinions to the level of complete irrationality on political forums, and the pink and fluffy stuff on Silver Surfer forums. Pink and fluffy this place doesn't do...but pretty polarised it can, though not to the complete irrationality level.......and, as I have only two subjects on which I have a view which is totally and unashamedly one-sided......and football isn't one of them.so on the rare times I post, .I do try to insert an element of even-handedness in posts I perceive as polarised (or verging on it). Tbh....... I kinda like heated debates...just not pointless ones...and I think this is one of those. I drink OVD and coke for preference (but can do voddie and fresh orange if I must)..take a note in case I ever get down the road when ICT are at home, I don't have to be somewhere else early doors and can invade the local meeting pub (if I can find it). I always buy my own round as well! I think Dougal is a glass 1/8th full of nothing he likes kind of person, while I am more of a glass 1/8th full of stuff I like but 7/8th empty otherwise type....so I think a Dougal/Oddquine ganging up at any time is not on the cards. (Does Dougal know he is called after my dog?) Have to say I'm quite gratified that I scare the crap out of anybody....because in my real life even my dog is bigger than me, which is why I do verbal abuse rather than physical in controlling him....and my kids and grandkids do a lot of when I open my mouth!1 point

Dearest Charles, For a supposedly impartial journalist your somewhat jaundiced view of Caley's undoubted pre-eminence in the Highland League is rather disappointing. If we take the period 1980 to 1994 (fourteen season) we can see the reality of who was top dog in HL circles in technicolor detail: Caley: 4 titles, 7 times runners-up, finished higher than Thistle 11 times, finished higher than County 11 times Thistle: 1 title, nil runners-up, finished higher than Caley 3 times, finished higher than County 8 times County: 2 titles, nil runners-up, finsihed higher than Caley 3 times, finished higher than Thistle 6 times. The statistics speak for themselves; Caley were ALWAYS the dominant force, the Jags were also rans and apart from their back-to-back titles County were a flash-in-the-pan irrelevance. For me Caley's bitter rivals were Elgin - end of story. Peterhed and Buckie had their moments but there was very little hostility towards the Jags because they weren't really in our league. Having said all that I loved our trips to Kingsmills - great days.1 point

I like him. Any time he has played he has been pretty solid. Hopefully, this will allow him to break into the starting XI next season. I agree with Row S - I can't believe he has not had more opportunities this season, with all the pi5h that's been served up, I would have preferred to see him in the starting XI for the last 4 games and then off to Iceland, but this will benefit him, and the club. And he's a Sneck lad as well.1 point

Do you really know anything about anything..or are you just really good at googling? If you want to discuss narcissistic tendencies....we can always start with your posts on this forum, in which you sneer at everybody you perceive as being less intelligent than yourself...can we not.because the definition seems to describe you very well. Oh dear me - hope you feel better after projecting all that internalised anger. I suspect that I must represent a domineering male figure from your past. My sincere apologies if I released some repressed memories or emotions. Suggest you may read up a little about narcississm and leave the formulating and "teaching" to professionals like maself.1 point

Fair enough... Here goes. Butcher brought in David Davies, Andrew Shinnie, Gregory Tade, Greg Tansey, and Roman Golobart. Arguably 5 of our star performers this season. Unfortunately Davies chose to pursue his dreams with Wolves and Shinnie, who was slow to start, turned out to be a real fans favorite and is on the long term injury list. Billy MacKay has shown glimpses of brilliance as has OTJ since his return from long term injury, both of whom Butcher brought in. Williams has also been brilliant since his arrival (I'll mention here that his is another Butcher signing) as has Josh Meekings (who, oh wouldn't you adam and eve it. He's a butcher signing too). Along with his other previous signings for this club, Club Captain Foran, Star player Hayes, Current goalkeeper Tuffey and of course Chris Hogg, I'd say that Terry Butcher has done damn good for Inverness! Granted, perfomances have been shocking (more so latterly), and no performance has been more boring in recent times than Saturday's game against Aberdeen. But when was the last time any of us saw a season where the manager has to change his squad almost every week because of a tweek here and a niggle there? The best we've managed in terms of the same starting 11 was 3 or 4 games around the festive period! All other times, Butcher has had no option but to mess with the squad to find the best fit. What irks me most is that people forget all this because they're still hung up on the releases of GM and RD. Whenever there is a poor performance or bad result, there's almost certainly a comment regarding their release. They're so hung up on it, there's even a thread as to why Butcher didn't turn up for the players' testimonial match.1 point

The SFA do have rules and procedures in place regarding "Fit and Proper" persons. Rangers completed all the necessary paperwork that showed he was....i.e. they lied to the SFA. I believe that is the reason they have been fined. The embargo is in relation to the non-payment of PAYE and NIC...in other words they have demonstrated an inability to responsibly employ players. I would say the punishments are entirely fitting and despite what some might have you believe, they are not being punished for being in administration by the SFA.....although it is entirely possible that they could yet face further sanctions for bringing the game into disrepute.1 point

If he has genuine reasons for not being present, would it be too much to expect him to have said in advance that he was sorry that he could not be present and wish the two players well? In spite of his personal or professional opinions of the players and their value to the team (I actually have no real issue with the idea that we needed to move on from Grant and Russell), as the current Manager of the club (and the Manager during the latter stage of their time with the club) it is at the very least his duty to publicly thank the players on behalf of the club for their efforts (hence the reason for the testimonial in the first place).1 point
