  1. So presumably if Kilmarnock win a place in Europe they will pass it over because the travelling will be a bit too much for them?

  2. The article posted by Gabby takes some reading but is worth the effort if my understanding is correct. My reading is that by having the meeting on 4th July the SPL is taking a position that oldco and newco are one and the same but just with different ownership to transfer the SPL share to. If it is the same club then they can also take sanctions against them. But oldco and newco are not the same club, they are different legal entities and therefore a meeting on a differernt basis should be taking place which would require a vote of 10 clubs rather than 8 to approve the newco SPL entry. Either way it strikes me as irrelevant. If they were one and the same then appropriate sanctions for the financial history would mean the club should be thrown out of the SPL whilst if it is a newco they do not have the playing history to justify admission. Either way, there is simply no justification for allowing Rangers in. The meeting of 4th July should not be to decide whether Rangers newco get the share, it should be about which other club gets it instead. What is disappointing here is the silence of other SPL clubs including our own. They should be taking a collective stand and say emphatically that they are all voting "no". That might allow everyone to know where they stand and we can move forward. This just gets messier and messier. It would not surprise me if Green applies for an injunction to delay the start of the SPL season if the vote goes against him. Were that to happen, would the SFL play its fixtures to include the team which would be in the SPL if it were going ahead? The possible scenarios don't bear thinking about. It is time for a united and decisive stand from the so called leaders of the Scottish game. Kick Rangers oldco into the history books and Rangers new co into division 3 - and do it soon.

  3. I think the point he's making is it's further doing it South-North than the other way round, isn't it   Aye, 'cos it's all uphill going North! :devious:

  4. This guy is an utter tool. An attention seeking gobsh1te who seems to have the maisntream media eating out the palm of his hand. He should concentrate on avoiding further six goal horsings next season and maybe ask his chairman to grow a pair and stand up to NewCo.

  7. Aw, the wee diddums. Maybe, if they thought about it a bit better, they could just stay in the Jewel of the North during the interim between the games and enjoy a taste of true Highland hospitality? I mean no wonder he is depressed - realising that they have to return to Kilmarnock afterwards . . .

  8. Don't all the youth players want to be involved with the first team? I'd be worrying about his ambition levels if he had said anything else. IHE......a smack on the wrist for you...there is no such thing as a mere Yoof player in ICT. They are all, until we know differently, prospects for the future of ICT.

  9. Probably just bitterness after we devoured them back in November. Seriously though, what a knobead. He's complaining about just a few games this season, we have to do it almost every weekend but i never see it as a strain travelling. I love away days, probably the most enjoyable aspect of our support is away days and whos to say Kilmarnock fans see it as any different? Most fans seem to enjoy coming here and the recession dosent seem to have deterred us or many other fans from travelling. Most folks will go to C*unty as well for the sake of trying a brand new stadium so i dont think they will suffer. Kenny should keep his trap shut and stop trying to fight a battle that dosent necessarily need to be fought.

  12. My point is that given no club can 100% expect to be in the SPL for ever...not even the OF, as has been proven....so why oblige them to buy the share at all.......why not just allocate it to the clubs as long as they are eligible to compete in the SPL for voting purposes? When no longer eligible, due to relegation or liquidation or whatever, the right to the share automatically dies so it isn't an asset, removes voting rights and gives those rights back to the SPL to reallocate. Can't see that the sale of the share makes the SPL big bucks anyway......can you? I'd guess that it is a different matter owning ICT shares.......because they are yours, unless there is something in ICT rules and regulations which say that not only can you not sell them without permission, but that they can also take them from you and give them to somebody else on a vote of the board. I'd have thought the ICT rule wasn't aimed at the small shareholder, but the shareholder with an appreciable number of shares, who could, by selling up, mean the club gets taken over, or an unwelcome A.N.Other gets too much of a say. Thank you very much for introducing the term "ICT" to the proceedings. I dont come on here to read about feckin the team formerly known as Rangers. I look forward to celebrating Scottish Football Independence Day on the 4th of July.

  13. One factor not picked up yet is that if Rangers have a case to answer for on EBTs, who was the Manager in charge for most of the potential cheating years? Was it 'in Walter we trust', and if so, did Walter know that his captain and other players and some officials were gaining benefits? It may just be a co-incidence that that the SPL announce 'Rangers have a case to answer' and then Walter walks. However, David Murray could not have been the only person to know about the scheme. Interesting overnight quote about Celtic supporters club very much against a newco into the spl. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/327694/Bhoys-set-for-boycott-vote What is clear about the 4th July is that hopefully the decision will be final. If there is any right of appeal the Scottish game will be in trouble. It seems all clubs will be down on season ticket money at present and in desperate need of a boost on 5th July when an established team with players and funding is allowed to take on the former share of Rangers in the SPL and we can get things under way.

  15. If he was staying with us then I think he would have said so by now .... personally I think Rangers (newco) would be a good destination as both sagas have trundled on for so long that I have lost the will to read much more about either topic !

  16. Sevco 5088 certainly does not sound like a Scottish Premier League Club - see latest fact about their re-birth. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18509619 I must admit I question why the BBC still have the now almost dead Rangers FC showing on their website. They do generally take a while to change things. Their coverage of late has been first class and in terms of fairness, they have updated their site to show Ross County as an SPL team. So hopefully within a day or two they will drop the numbers to 11 obliterating the disgraced entity.

  17. A rose by any other name smells the same. Rangers Newco, or whatever other name one twists and turns to call it , it is still Rangers F C in another guise. A wolf in sheep's clothing, no less because the ramifications of allowing this club back into the SPL will be far-reaching and this act will remain in the memory for a long time. It will be nothing less than a completely cynical, self-serving betrayal of all that's good in scottish football. End of story.

  20. What a load of nonsense some posters againput on this forum. Pre season friendlies are to get up to speed fitness wise first and foremost, then to get the playing system in place. It doesn't matter who we play or what results we get in these as long as we start the season positively. If anyone thinks that a friendly against a "bigger" team/teams will really benefit us in the season ahead, they are sadly deluding themselves. Bigger teams would presumably also want cash guarantees for playing which is money we can ill afford.

  23. I think there's a bit of an elephant in the room here that everyone is missing. In my mind, the dropping of attendances has little to do with the world's financial problems, ICT's lack of U19s, ICT slashed budget or any other reason. The reason is what the fans are seeing on the pitch. If the club continually goes down the path (and have a manager who seems desperate to do so) of signing players with no connection or interest in the club or the area, sign players that play for themselves and not the club and have a manager who seems quite content on taking a "don't get beat " attitude, even at home while playing a kick and rush style of football, with any direction that is in it, directed towards a man of 5"7. These tactics are an insult to Billy McKay and even more so, to the supporters. You paint up all the reasons you want to try and cover-up the issue, but none as far as I can see, are the whole reasons why. I believe, and always have believed, that if you put a product on the park that entertains and excites the fans, play players who the fans feel connected to and play players that give their all for the club and play for the shirt - the fans won't turn away.

  25. Ten4 regarding the P & J recession answer being page 3 girls, they would be better with fresh ewe's every day, and the 'mutton dressed as lamb' page 7. When you think about it, we look like we are going to have another rebuilding job ahead of us, Tansey, Tade, Hayes and not forgetting Proc. But we are then going to give new players the chance to impress and better their predesessors. Most seem upset at Tade leaving, 9 goal hitman, yet most of us think he should have scored 20 plus with the chances he had last season. Tansey came with a glowing reputation and a nose for goals, which he only partly showed although he was fairly decent. Jonny will be missed, but he can be hot and cold. All these players are taking a chance, as the new team they are going to may take ages and ages to gel, as they too are having wholesale changes. The bottom 10 are having massive changes this summer, and the promoted one has lost 3 regulars already. We are all in the same boat as it were, and who knows what will happen, Jonny gets injured early on, Tade continues to fluff when he has time to think, Hibs struggle again, Dons continue to dazzle under Pa Broon, Midden lost their legend and star Hasselbank, Killie continue to pass pass pass misplace pass, Hearts drop their good players, St J rebuild and cant gel, Arabs lose our ex trialist and others and also shop in England div2, Well crash and burn after Champs league July elimination, and Rangers are taken to task by FIFA nolikey their non footie court involvement. Which leaves Celtic at the top and County in their caravans

  26. Extremely dissapointed losing Hayes to Aberdeen, really thought he would have shown more ambition than that. I can see why Tade moved, he wont be on much more than he was here in terms of wages but the lure of playing in Europe is one i can fully understand. Wonder if our club will ever realise that offering 1 year deals and waiting till their contract expires before offering them a new deal is getting us nowhere and if we continue to do it then we will get relegated sooner rather than later. TB said last year that he wanted to rebuild the team (which he did to a lot of grumbles) and then retain them at the end of this season so that we can push on. It is blatantly clear that this has not worked due to the majority of the team being able to speak to other clubs after 6 months of signing. Hope lessons have been learned and now it is pretty much back to square one and we are going to have a pretty big rebuilding job on our hands again this year Have to say that todays news has left me very down about next season. I have real fears about our survival in the league next year

  27. Then there was always of the story of the lost corpse. Even in the middle of winter we had to transport bodies down the back lane to the mortuary situated above the Nurses Home. The lane was boundaried by the main lawn and a 40 feet sloping drop on the other side. One night we had a death and two brave assistants agreed to transport the trolley to the mortuary, even though the snow was lying and falling thicker and thicker. By the time they got half way down the lane it had turned in to a blizzard - they lost track of the lane - the trolley tipped over the embakment, the body fell out in its white shroud and snowballed down the embankment. In a state of panic the two worthies ran back to the ward to explain their dilemna. When 10-15 of us struggled out to the scene we couldnt even see the feckin trolley neer mind the body. So we spent 15-20 minutes stamping around the snow until we located the trolley and the body and took it to its place of rest. But my biding memory was one of the shocked assistants asking what the name of the deceased was and then standing in the blizzard shouting "Hughie, Hughie, where the feck are you ?"

  28. It's all well and good saying there is no money for a trip away to England or abroad but the point is that the pre-season games have got to prepare us for tough SPL games right at the start of the season. A good start is important to get points on the board because failure to get those early points might be the difference between relegation and survival, or top six or not. Matches against Wick and Huntly will prove very little, We need to assess how new members of the squad can perform against quality opposition so that the correct line up, properly prepared is in place for the first game of the season. Shelling out to pit ourselves against some quality English opposition might prove to be a very sound investment.
