  1. Funnily enough I almost always have someone else with me for the OF games (not an OF fan I'll add, rather usually ICT fans who pick and choose their games more) and other games against some of the better teams. So in answer, almost certainly yes, there will be another paid for seat in the ground as a result of me having a season ticket. In recent times though, ICT could do more on the field to encourage more fans to come. I've heard from quite a few people who are less keen to go now, due to having to watch the long ball garbage that was served up week after week last season. This coming season will be the most level playing field the SPL has ever seen. Playing attacking football will create a more exciting atmosphere which people (particularly those who pick and choose their games) will be more keen to come and see and thus financially support the club in the process.

  2. I would rename the thread 'Europe's assault on Celtic'

  3. Simply not true that Celtic don't sell our their allocation. Whether they would sell the additional tickets being talked about is open for debate, but if home fans aren;t going to buy them then why not give it a go? Just to clarify, we're talking about extreme circumstances here, circumstances that have come about as the result of our Chairman voting to do what was right in terms of "sporting integrity". We're not talking about being greedy here, we're talking about bringing in extra funds which are needed for the club to survive. Where else does the opportunity present for the club to raise substantial 5 figure sums? You'd rather have thousands of empty seats and see the club go to the wall? As I said...and as has been ignored (conveniently), are those saying "no" willing to buy up those empty seats? We're not going to suddenly grow our support by 1200 to 1500 fans overnight....and even if the club tried to sell them to non-Celtic supporting football fans by reducing the price then they would be getting hammered by season ticket holders for devaluing the product. The petty minded stupidity of some of our fans knows no bounds on occasion. This isn't about pissing on your seat to protect your territory, this is about fans realising that they can't expect the club to do everything without our help. In the grand scheme of things, does a different viewing angle for a couple of games really make all the much difference?

  4. By the same note, surely it's not down to the fans to stand in the way of the club selling those empty seats either? We can all talk about a desire for pretty football or winning football or any other kind of football....but how are the club suppose to improve the financial position to allow them to strive for such if the fans aren't willing to work with them to improve the income? If our fans don't start working with, instead of against, the club then we'll have no football at all and it becomes academic.

  5. I don't think "winning football" does bring people through the gates. If ICT were to win a couple more games a season, by playing mind-numbingly boring football, attendances would still be going down. What people want to see (and something that was lacking last season), is team playing with heart and with passion, not necessarily always winning - but really going for it. Play like that and even if it leads to a defeat, fans won't turn away. People would always rather see one exciting win and two exciting defeats, than three boring draws.

  6. Surley its not down to the fans to sell the empty seats. Thats terry mo an the players job by playin winnin football (an i dont care about pretty football 3 points will do) It follows that the rest will take care of itsel wiv the added bonus of derby fever

  7. Sorry Alex, but you can't just dismiss the idea out of hand the way some are doing on the assumption that it might not work. There's not even a willingness to look at the possibilities with people....if there was then they would have gone for an "agreement in principle" option. It's like trying to talk to spoiled children who just expect mammy and daddy to be there to pander to their every whim and be around to wipe their butt for them when shit happens. People need to wake up and appreciate just how bad things are, and how much worse they will be if they can't set aside petty prejudices for the benefit of their own club.

  8. Celtic only got into Europe last season by default and even then fell at the first hurdle. I can't see them do any better any time soon.

  9. I'd love to see our fans filling the north and main stand. We need to get more ICT fans to the games. What is the capacity of the main stand?

  11. Not a bad game at all with bits and pieces of brilliance - especially our second goal. i thought that Cooper, Doran and Andrew Shinnie were all excellent. foran looks like the fittest player out the lot. thought draper was a man of two halves. thought he was really poor first half but grew into the game and had some real grit about him in the second. Morrison looked very good and oswell and Mckay (despite missing a few chances) both looked sharp. Conor Pepper is still to convince me but i thought polworth was good. we are still a few new faces short yet but i am happy enough. hopefully butcher may get on the phone to clach about their number 9 sam urquhart who is a real talent.

  12. What I would add is that this is in large part down to a fall in attendances in the home end....the exact same scenario as we witness against Celtic. As I said already though....I don't think the numbers support giving up an additional 2400+ seats to Celtic. If we could give them just 1200 or so of the empty seats then we'd be doing well and getting close to max crowds. That doesn't equate to a £50k increase in income, but it would be a substantial sum of money....especially if we could provide them in the Main Stand where we can command an extra £5 per ticket compared to providing additional seats from the North Stand. It's all hypothetical in either case as we don't know if it is something the club would consider looking at...or even if the logistics could be made to work in terms of stewarding and division of facilities. What I do think is important is that we, the fans, are willing to accept that in tough times then we have to be willing to make the odd sacrifice for the financial well being of the club. There has to be a bit of give and take.

  13. Maybe with Rangers not being in the SPL next season 2 things will happen. 1. Local Rangers fans deprived of Premier league action will go along and support ICT when they play Celtic. And who knows, even when they aren't! 2. The occasional supporters who might go to watch one or other of the old firm will have no choice this year. If they want to watch ICT play a big team they only have Celtic. In addition, if we are playing a more attractive brand of football and having a bit of success we may have an increase in gates next season. No doubt I'm clutching at straws here but we just might fill both the North and Main stand when Celtic come calling. We certainly should be able to. Why can't football fans be like rugby fans and then we wouldn't need segregation and this debate would be irrelevant.

  16. would consider it as the rain must stop soon, but only if celtic paid the 20 odd quid adult price for all seats in north stand whether they populate them or not on the day. also Money up front, cash in club bank a/c before game. dont want to loose any more cash to a glasgow club

  18. devestating to watch him fight with every fibre of his being to win and just fall at the final hurdle, was devestating to watch never mind play in, but that was as good as ive seen federer play, and he has earned the title of the greatest grass court player of all time for me. i dont even think nadal wouldve beaten murray in that final thats how good federer was. but after this i think the next 2 year we will see a couple grand slam titles in murrays hands, and hes definatly in contention for olympic gold. LETS GO ANDY LETS GO!

  21. I have declined to buy one this year (despite an excellent offer for under 25's) due to the farce that is Scottish football. Its the only way I can demonstrate that things need to change. Sky Sports and ESPN are binned from my TV schedule also.
