So good to hear that the under 20s have won 2-0 today away to Falkirk. That's 4 wins in a row now so surely something to celebrate. Scorers were Oswell and Calum Ferguson. Well done to them all.4 points

I don't know who you are referring to as the "playground bullies" as I certainly wasn't jumping on the person who spotted it. So by your way of thinking if Debenhams are having a sale and nobody turns up to it as it wasn't advertised it is the customers fault for not phoning Debenhams to check if there was a sale on and not Debenhams for advertising it. I just feel that in the present climate where every pound is a prisoner the club failing to advertise the tickets for potentially our biggest gate of the season is amateurish. Some on here now seem to think on here now the club is faultless and the fans are to blame for everything now but they must remember the fans are the customers.3 points

How our friends across the bridge must be laughing at this! But hey ho, who cares? If you've got something to say you should be able to say it and I have to agree that Dougal has a point here. For me the issue is a bit more than just one of communicating when tickets were on sale. We are constantly being told the club has no money and we have threads on here looking for fund raising ideas etc etc. But when we have a forthcoming match which is the first SPL derby between us and our very in form local rivals and when we desparately need a full home support, what does the club do to stir the local population? As yet, sweet FA by the looks of things. This is a huge match. Apart from the local rivalry and it being our first SPL derby there are other issues: the return of Munro and Tokely (and others) and the fact that County may be going into this game still unbeaten in the league for over a year. How difficult should all that be to market? And with tickets on sale last week what an opportunity to market the match with a weekend break from SPL action due to the internationals. There could have been a great piece in the Courier, for instance, about the game with quotes from Butcher urging the fans to get their tickets whilst there were still some left (ha, ha!) and really get behind the team. But what do we get, a silly non-story of Richie Foran urging the fans to get behind Billy MacKay. This is a hugely important game and it is vital we sell out the home allocation. The earlier tickets start selling well, the sooner people will commit to buy. Leave it too late and folk decide they won't bother after all. For a club that needs the money, its lack of activity in ensuring we get a sell out for this game is disappointing to say the least.2 points

I wasn't suggesting that the club was faultless in any way....nor did I seek to defend the tardiness in getting the information online. I was, in fact, the one who highlighted that it should have been up but wasn't...and there's likely someone at the club cussing me for that, but hey ho!!! Nor do I think that the fans are to blame for everything, but I do think that their needs to be a bit of movement from both sides if we are to start improving things. There's certainly nothing to be gained from spending more time on the blame game than on striving to put things right, especially if that involves hammering the people who are trying. The information wasn't put online when it should have been...that's a screw up, but nothing can change that and I'm sure it will be looked in to by the club to see how and why (something I would not have been confident of happening a couple of years back). However, the information did go out to the press and was in at least one of last weeks local papers...so the failure to communicate was not total (of little consequence in the eyes of some I am sure). I totally get (and share) the frustration from fans when things, sometimes simple things, don't go/get done as the should. I just choose to deal with it different these days. I could have come on and done as others did by bitching, moaning and complaining about it and I would have been just as entitled to do so as anyone else. Instead I chose to use that bit of time and energy to go find the information and get it online. In deciding to do that I somehow become the villain and the next thing Caley Jags Together are being blamed for the screw up...how does that work? I could have just ignored the situation, done nothing, posted nothing and left fans without the info to continue to bitch and moan (seems that would have been the outcome either way) and saved myself the grief. People want to know how they can help....take a little bit of that time you were going to spend a rant and use it instead to spread the information instead. Not saying people shouldn't complain when things get screwed up, but we all have the power to help negate the effects of that if we just approach things with a slightly different mindset. Fans should not be viewed, or be viewing themselves, as "just customers". They are so much more than that, they deserve to be treated as so much more than that, but they also have to behave in a manner which is so much more than that.2 points

Surely, in the current difficut economic circumstances, the priority has to be to fill the ground with fans of whatever persuasion and thus maximise income Anyway, a roughly equal split of fans makes for a much better atmosphere.2 points

Well done to Andy, but he certainly doesn't do things the easy way. I really feared for him when it went to 2 sets all, after being 2 sets up. But he played his best tennis when it mattered. Both men were absolutely knackered after 5 hours of brutal tennis, well over 20 rallies of more than 20 shots, the majority of them hit flat out. One rally went to 54 shots! I hope Andy goes on now and wins a few more, to completely fulfill his enormous potential.1 point

Maybe someone in the know on here can confirm this or tell me a mate was trying to wind me up which I believe the latter I may add Friday 4th October will be the biggest and most important Highland Derby to date, and if what I'm hearing is correct the peg seller fans will be housed in three of stands in our ground!!! My mate has told me they have already sold out the away stand even at this early stage as all their season ticket holders 2500 have snapped up their allocation Fair enough but he also claims they will also be allocated the uncovered wing of the main stand plus the stupid singing stand or whatever it was called Surely there would be enough interest from ICT fans to prevent this from happening or is this reality and the need to sell tickets regardless to who sits in them a priority Thoughts? Would rather watch Scotland struggle against the Faroe Islands than contemplate a Team GB.1 point

All in all a pretty sh*te night for the 4 home countries. Scotland Held at home by the team ranked 97 in the world England held at home by Ukraine Wales being gubbed 6-1 by Serbia (who are ranked only 3 places above Wales) and probably worst of all, Northern Ireland being held at home by Luxemburg! Team GB anyone?1 point

I'm comfortable with seperation, even divorce as neither mean isolation. We will continue to be British and our main trading partners will continue to be the rest of UK. We will however have decisions made by our own politicians elected solely by the people of Scotland (that includes you Laurence). I personally feel that a Scottish parliament is more accountable to us. In the words of Wendy Alexander, "Bring it on!".1 point

How many of you people who are so worried about it bothered to phone or contact the club directly to find out if tickets were on sale before now? You're not all babies that need spoonfed everything here on the forum are you? If one person had did that then they could have come back and shared the information and been a help instead of being a little wah wah baby about it all. Ok so someone blooped and it's not the first time and I don't think it will be the last time but the moment it was spotted it was sorted out and yet the person who sorted it gets jumped on by all the playground bullies.1 point

Noticed a few caravans in the North Kessock lay-bys, both north and south. Must be the ones who already have their tickets.1 point

Of course he will, he is stubborn to the core and now as the press, fans and other peers in football are calling for a change and giving Rhodes a start, Levein will stand firm and refuse to make changes. Its his way of showing authority whether he thinks its the right decision or not. Last campaign when we were 2-0 down against Spain, we looked strong when we took control of the game and pushed forwards, highlighted by the 2 goals scored against the worlds best team, there were times against the Czech team at Hampden when I thought they were there for the taking but we never pushed on and changed game plan. Yes not conceeding and remaining tight at the back is the first priority however we do leak goals and seem to always leave it too late to push forwards. With guys in the team like Forrest, Morrison, Maloney, even Hutton we have wide players that can really cause problems and get balls in the box, but not much use having those options if we continue to play narrow through the middle and expect Miller to lead the line.1 point

I thought Dougal was going to the County games anyway. So I guess you'll be happy wherever you sit eh? ;)1 point

Thanks Don Dougal - I believe sales in Dingwall are going well, but I can assure you that they have not sold all of their allocation and at this point in time, no additional areas have been allocated to 'away' support. If, however, they do require more tickets, I'm sure we will do all we can to accommodate them. Wouldn't it be nice if the home fans filled these additional areas, so that we had no more to give to 'away' fans, and I don't just mean County here1 point

Not sure where the communication breakdown occurred with getting the info online, but as soon as I realised this evening I added it to the website, facebook and twitter.1 point

Funny thing about CB's posts on this topic is that he seems dismissive of the local, perhaps parochial elements of Scottish culture, yet has written books on local topics and appears a great enthusiast for all things "Shneck".1 point

About 3 years ago the BBC, despite getting that 9% of its income you mention, was told by one of these 'independent' reports (I forget which, now) that it was only sourcing 3% of its output from Scotland and it should be bumping it up to 9% - which, up to now, it has signally failed to do. So we still get high culture beamed into our living rooms nightly in the form of Eastenders, and daily in the form of a soap about doctors, and all these complacent middle-class househunting programmes. Meanwhile all that the rest of the UK knows about one of the oldest nations in Europe is what they get from stereotypes perpetuated by the Sun and the Evening Standard. Charles, by your constant manifestations of the Scottish Cringe, you really do appear to have an incredibly low opinion of your countrymen.1 point
