  1. Our wee club with our wee support in our wee stadium has produced another big season. Consistently punching above our weight regardless of managerial team. I am very proud of every single player who has contributed to ICT,s succes this season.
  2. Had to laugh at a comment texted to BBC: "Samaras deserves a game today after doing so well at Eurovision last night."

In terms of league position our last 2 seasons have been our best 2 seasons ever and we have Terry Butcher to thank for that. On a very limited budget he and his management team did an excellent job in finding latent talent and fashioning them into a team that could compete well in the top half of the SP(F)L. The sad thing both for the club and himself personally is that both seasons could have been better still. Both seasons saw us riding high in the league before Butcher decided he would capitalise on the success and head off to bigger clubs. Last year the aftermath of the Barnsley fiasco resulted in a significant drop in form when the players realised that despite all his praise about the loyalty of the players, the manager had no loyalty at all and was keen to leave. This year Butcher renaged on his commitment to the club and left and his successor has been unable to maintain the early season form. I am convinced that without the Barnsley fiasco we would have captured a European place last year and despite both Aberdeen and Dundee Utd being stronger this year, with the start we had, we could have finished higher and perhaps gone one better in the cups. As SP points out, had Butcher had faith in the team he had fashioned and gone on to win a European placing or a cup with ICT then his own stock would have risen immensley and he could have attracted a bigger salary elsewhere. But we've won nothing and he's won nothing. We are a small club and may never have such a good chance of success at the top level of Scottish football again. The Rangers, Hibs and Hearts will all return stronger in the next few years and it will be harder than ever to make that breakthrough. There is a feeling the Butcher took the team to the brink of that success but then snatched it away from us in order to satisfy his short term financial greed. The success of the last 2 seasons is a bittersweet success because we know that it could and should have been better. In denying us success, he has also denied himself success. The irony is that whilst the club has still enjoyed relative success, his opportunity for success may well morph into abject failure and leave his career in ruins. If so, he only has himself to blame and will get no sympathy from me.
  4. Decent end to a somewhat frustrating run in. 2 well taken goals and a clean sheet, cant say fairer than that. Think it was fairly clear that St J's had 1 eye on the cup final, which I suppose is understandable but was really impressed by some of our play, especially in the 2nd half. Glad the season is done, felt like it was starting to drag on a bit, we all deserve a break . Hope the players come back rejuvenated and get off to another flyer next season. Been a season of real highs and real lows but as always its a pleasure following this club with such good fans...see you all in 14/15
  5. To be fair, it's difficult to get a decent atmosphere on other planets...
  6. Good result to end the season - I don't suppose any of us if offered 5th next season would turn it down .
  7. Its funny how expectation levels change. 20 years ago I thought it was a pretty decent stadium when it was build. I felt the likes of falkirk, pars, st mirren, partick, st johnstone were big clubs and if you said to me 20 years from now we would be moaning about just missing out on playing in the Europa league 2 years running I would have laughed it off.
  8. Give him the summer to work on the team, get in the players he wants and mould them to his style of play. If after 6 games of next season we are near the bottle and still playing crap football, get him out!

I didn't know that was even physically possible!

I can testify to that. Some people seem to think the folk that work on the club sit on their backsides all day doing nothing. I think it was last season or the season before I had a couple of calls asking if I was renewing and explaining all the benefits of renewing early, discounts etc. The club may not be perfect off the field but they seem to have a very false picture painted of them on here at times.

    The club do phone people.
  12. Thought caleyboy was desperate to close this thread?
  13. Was it not the same stand that was cobbled together in record time to ensure we got our SPL campaign started on time. Brilliant feat actually from all accounts ....so....? Where are you going with this young Doofer? When I stood on the terracing at the former Caledonian F C there was no side stands and the main stand was small. Sometimes you stood beside or behind trees if there was a large crowd. And sitting down was generally not an option. These were the good old days and not the modern mollycoddling days of this era.
  14. Would grab it with both hands..
  15. Most exciting thing in the first half was the introduction of Mr Whippy from the start, did a roaring trade. The second half was better because we didn't need to concede a goal before moving up a gear. Good end to the season with a clean sheet though.
  16. Great to end season with a great goal flying into the top corner at the North Stand Home End in the 90th minute !
  17. Just noticed that the game is on alba at half past six.
  18. Super Caley Super Caley Ya Buties Super Caley
  19. The difference between 5th and 6th is 86k. The teams in the top 6 earn less money this season because of financial restructuring. Bottom six teams and sides in the Championship earn much more.
  20. not even open all mics this week .... just 'updates during Aberdeen -v- Motherwell'. PATHETIC

Well I'm renewing despite living in England as the half a dozen home games I make it to will pay for it, plus it's my way of putting money into the club. Also know my Father is getting one for the first time ever for next season. I've made my opinion thus far on JH's tenure abundantly clear, but I've also always stated I sincerely hope he proves me wrong and we go on to another top six finish next season. That being said managers, players, board members, tea ladies all come and go but the club remains not going because you don't like the manager or the brand of pie is a bit petty IMO.
  22. 3 all after 90 and 120 mins. Clach won on pens - John Campbell saved two.
  23. My point was....we have nothing to mortgage, even if we wanted/needed to.
  24. Replying to post one, no there isnt apart from CJT. However there is nothing to stop anyone from starting one up and recruiting members, its only in name anyway. Im sure Caleythistleonline could assist on this web site regarding recruiting. It also helps to add your location to your profile on this site. I have asked CJT about this and once formed it would be ok to come under the CaleyJagsTogether umbrella. Perhaps joining both at the same time. Juanjo Away was formed a few years ago and I believe CJT still hold the contact details on the data base. Just give yourself a name and start recruiting, perhaps when joining CJT for £1, a new heading could be created so that you could be affiliated with a local supporters group, its that easy and that simple. Whats in it for you? short term- meeting new people, organising a local get together from time to time if you choose to, longer term- simplifying transport arrangements to home/away games, making a simple phone call to CJT for the next semi final and saying for example Ive got 50 ICT Vikings who would like to get a bus from the Dornoch Tain area, can you offer assistance. We can also get a supporters group flag made up for a very reasonable price. Whats in it for me? satisfaction from seeing our young club mature and seeing our fans catch up with what other clubs have been doing for decades. The only thing preventing this from happening is you. Good Luck.
