Why would we want to release a drawing of Dundee's new jersey ?

I don't have a problem with having the name of a company on the kit, but having that big sandwich mascot walking around pitchside at every game would be an embarrassment IMO.

Well I doubt he's making it up... Kingsmills makes a fair point. It may or may not be true but it's not "official" till the club confirm it. If it is true I would rather players wait for a formal announcement before tweeting about it. Having said that I would like to see the club announce these things promptly. There should be no reason why a brief press release can't be fired off as soon as the agreement is made.

We already have a mascot. Dont remember a train on the pitch when it was Scotrail. Nor a very large blood tester when it was Inverness Medical so why have a ham butty when its Subway

At any point has anyone said Subway mascot would be at the stadium on match days? It seems to me it's being used in the media marketing of the clubs new sponsor. It's about time people stopped looking for any little thing to show outrage about and concert all their efforts in getting behind the club. ( Notice I say club, but still think Hughes is the wrong man).

Nessie the Monster is at least identifiable to the local area. ICat was rubbish by the way. Why do we need to have a sponsors mascot anyway? Why didn't we have a dancing oil rig for Orion? Or a big plane for Flybe? Or how about a big dancing videotape player for when we had Sharp? A sandwich is cringeworthy IMO.

Maybe the design is so controversial that releasing it will affect season ticket sales and the powers that be are holding it back. I think it could be yellow and green with pictures of salad vegetables on it.

I'm not sure if it encapsulates Subway's brand values in the way they had in mind at the design stage! Anyway, it's not quite the worst mascot ever.

Yeah because it takes weeks to print a sponsors logo on a strip ! If we still used screen printed or stick on sponsor logos then you might have a point. Good point! Were we top all the way to October? The cup semi-final was THE moment for me. It was just incredible, and anyone who was at it (well, apart from the Hearts fans obviously) will have come away from the ground absolutely buzzing with one of the best feelings you'll ever get from a sporting occasion. It's the one game from this season that we will still remember and talk about in 10 years time, and it surely has a place in any ICT fan's top 5 games ever.
