    I had a dream
  2. When I heard there was a shower heading towards Inverness from the North tomorrow I assumed they were talking about County.
  3. Reading the Courier website today, I would get a contract offer on the table for Raven .....
  4. Polworth has shown a good first touch, excellent range of passing and eye for goal when he's had a run out. It'd be absolutely nuts to punt him. He's only going to get better. I might consider loaning him out for some first team football, but would certainly want him back at the end of it.

TIME NOW FOR JAMES DEAN ?

  7. We are on the 07:10 train from Glasgow so let's hope the overnight weather isn't too bad
  8. I suppose whether you are a cheque book manager or not depends on whether you are the manager of a cheque book club or not.

...but, hopefully, one a little bit more careful about the company he keeps,, Aint you got a bed to go to?
  10. The loans option would be consistent with the Chairman's mention of contingency plans. It would also be the only way you could get someone in for the weekend this late in the week. It may be that there was some agreement with another club for a player to come on loan should Billy leave. There are a number of English Premier division sides who have very good players who are just not getting a game due to the size of the squads etc. For instance Balotelli needs some regular game time to prove he is worth a starting slot for Liverpool. Maybe not quite up to Billy's standard but in these situations you have to take what you can get!
  11. Am slightly concerned at events over the last few days. Shinnie signing a pre contract and Billy trying to better himself I can live with, but what effect will this have on the other out of contract players? Will they commit, when arguably our 2 best players won't be there next season? Added to that Dave the Rave says he hasn't been offered a contract when comments attributed to him would indicate he wants to stay. All in all, it must be causing a great deal of unrest in the changing room, and worries me about how our season may play out. We could do with some positive news coming from the club, and fast.

I read that Billy's been handed Shaun Maloney's no. 10 shirt. Should be a good fit!

Time to start a new chant. "He leaves when he wants, he leaves when he waaaaaants...."
  14. If the pitch is covered & undersoil heating on why should there be a problem ?
  15. We have until late Monday night to get a replacement secured. We also have time after that to get a free agent on loan

He's no the first top-scoring Caley player called Billy to end up at Wigan!!
  17. The guys that you list above neither Horner nor Polworth would get above them guys. I know it sounds harsh but football can be cruel and I personally think it would be in the best interests of the club and them two if we went our separate ways. Since Horner joined the club, I don't think he's played a first team game competitively just the friendlies. Polworth granted one of our own but Christie in my opinion is miles ahead of Polworth. I think Polworth would thrive at a lower league team in Scotland. Just looking at that list you've posted Alex, even Richie would struggle to get ahead of them guys.
  18. I think there are some very cruel posters on here. What have Polworth and Horner done to deserve being binned. They're both young. They're both midfielders. So please tell me guys....Who should we have dropped to let either of them on to the team sheet?...Vincent? Draper? Doran? Ross? Watkins? Tansey? Williams? Christie? Has it crossed anyones mind that maybe the hard work those two put in is what makes the regulars more competitive? IMO so long as we are having success with the regulars, and they stay fit, I dont want to see what the fringe guys can do.
  19. I know the focus will be on Shinnie and Mckay mainly, but I'd have liked to have heard at least something about Dean Brill and his injury. One of our main and best players was stretchered off on Saturday and we haven't heard anything about it since. I can't be the only one wondering about it.

Hopefully, like the Butcher, Billy will be having second thoughts. His international and effective playing career could be badly damaged in a team being substantially rebuilt mid-season by their latest manager, Malky Mackay,to prevent it heading into Division 1. It is an enormous challenge and in my view Billy deserves far, far better. It is the complete opposite of what he has in Inverness. Malky and his Chairman have both been subject to controversy in the recent past. I do not begrudge him a really good move because he absolutely deserves it. Blackpool are virtually certain to be relegated and Wigan do look vulnerable to join them.Even Don Cowie is on the way down! Malky is not Roberto Martinez and with a dramatic clear out since he arrived he now has to rapidly build a new team with the risk of an FA sanction still possible. The environment does not look good even on much higher wages for Billy. If another bid does not come in during the window, Billy is likely to score a lot more goals before the end of the season and then pick a far better option for next season. Meantime he would cement his Northern Ireland place. Don't do it Billy.

This medical seems to be taking a long time. Maybe Wigan are concerned about Mckays small "k"?
  22. We do have a very (comparatively) young/inexperienced "development" squad (over half of them having just made the step up) and this season is being viewed as being thrown in at the deep end and results aren't the be all. The numbers, in terms of squad size, are also not as high as they have been in the past (14 players if my count is right). I believe most of the development squad are local...and whilst he is technically a local, Ferg is the only non-Scottish player in there (as per FIFA Eligibility rules he's currently Canadian)...so that's a good thing. As I understand it, there's progression planning in place in regards to how the Development Squad are set up/train etc and how the first team do things (I think they also train together sometimes as well). Yogi attends all the home Dev League matches (as do other coaches and a good few of the first team squad) and provides "feedback" from the stand during games, so in that regard he's hands on.
  23. End of the day Graeme is still contracted to us until June and should be treated as such. If his individual performance starts to fade then he should of coure be dropped but to drop him straight away just strikes of 'sour grapes'. Gary Mackay-Stevens signed for Celtic and Jackie MacNamara still puts him in the team.
