But we must remember, Caleboy, that if the Board don't agree with the Manager's assessment they might JUST decline to support him with sufficient money. However I think that , having kept Robbo on, they have little choice but to support him and it seems that's what happened through season 2017/2018 and will be repeated this term as well. But this starting season we are in a much better position to compete than that of a year ago and, frankly, I am really upbeat about our prospects. Could be dynamic. If they don't, he might be off at season's end leaving only a demoralised bunch of players and fans behind in his cloud of dust. If you treat him with negative girning most of the time it will demoralise him at first and then disappoint and anger him and that is what I'm afraid of because I don't see how we can get in a better manager than him at the end of the season if he quits. Meantime back at the ranch we will be off at the toot. Right?

I can attest that distain for this individual is certainly not confined to the realms of CTO.

If anyone 'had it in' for Bannerman, it would be purely down to his style of trying to make himself sound so much better than anyone else on here.

Whilst this should not become a debate about any individual poster, I have to disagree. CB has long attacked and attempted to bully individual posters particularly those who he perceives to be less intelligent or less articulate than himself.

I think you are wrong to imply that Scarlet Pimple had any wish to force Charles Bannerman to withdraw from these forums. That sort of thing is I think way beneath his dignity. It is true that Charles seems to have lost his way a bit, and was maybe less aware of what is acceptable and what is not, and Mr Pimple merely offered him guidance. The faux outrage at some of Charles' more controversial posts was particularly distasteful. Although I didn't always agree with Charles' point of view, and we occasionally crossed swords, I regret his decision to withdraw as his posts were generally insightful, sometimes inciteful and always well presented, and I do hope that once he's cooled down a little, perhaps researched what is acceptable and what is not, that he will resume his valuable contributions to these forums.

It was entirely within the EMG's remit to have accepted those late submissions and if, as suggested, there was sufficient space for them to have been accepted without taking number over the board maximum, then I don't see the problem....but it is equally their right to reject them. I just hope they were fully aware of the options. Laura, it is not for you or the EMG to state whether those nominations will or won't be consider for co-option by the new board...and the new board are under no obligation to even look at them. Anyway, on to Tuesday's meeting, which would now appear to be one of affirmation voting as opposed to an election.
