  1. *mes amis. (unless you're only addressing Yngwie, in which case it's mon ami, mon cher, mon étalon, etc )
  2. Bonjour mon amis! It’s been a while since my last visit but I’ve popped in to say that I’ll be decked out in full festive outfit aka a Santa mini dress this coming Saturday for our match. I will be in the supporters’ bar at the stadium pre match (come say hello - I don’t bite) before heading into the away end to do the Live Updates for DAFC.net I hope you enjoy the game and have a Merry Christmas when the big day comes. Love fae Buffy xx

I heard this week of the sad passing of former Inverness Thistle player, captain, manager and legend Ian Cumming. He was the driving force in the midfield of the great Jags teams of the 70's. He was a player who could read the game well, who could play some neat football, could take a good penalty and could mix it if the game required it. I am so glad that I had the privilege of watching him play and meeting him. Another legend from the past sadly gone.

He had been ill for some considerable time. He was, as has been said, the mainstay of that wonderful double title winning Jags team of the early 70s. He may now sadly be gone but he leaves us Jags fans of a certain vintage with memories that we still cherish nearly five decades on.

Leicester could be a good shout, especially if James Maddison moves on, and he's well known to Brendan Rodgers. I would agree he's more likely to take the Andy Robertson route than the Keiran Tierney. I don't agree with the McGinn comparison though. The Championship was a step up for him both in wages and standard after 100 games at Hibs. Christie is already, arguably, Celtic's best player, and has already got lots of big game experience in Europe and cup finals, and he's probably on wages comparable to what Championship clubs can offer.
  6. Festive Fare It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and Dunfermline Athletic are the visitors on Saturday with both clubs looking to bounce back after disappointing results last weekend. The game will kick off at 3:00pm at the Caledonian Stadium as Xmas shopping start to bite. So, if you want to avoid all the mind numbing festive jingles in the retail park, get yourself down to the Stadium and get behind the Caley Jags as they try to fend off a Dunfermline side who will be challenging for a play-off slot come the end of the season. Once again we slumped to defeat against a Partick side that were thrashed 5-1 by the Pars recently, albeit the Harry Wraggs had a man sent off in the fourth minute. That's a second 3-1 doing from Partick this season. Alex Jones opened the scoring just after the interval but a superb James Keatings overhead kick restored parity before Steve Saunders put the Partick Jags back in front. Dario Zanatta ended the scoring and made the points secure in injury time and left the Inverness fans frustrated by our inability to break down the hosts and take something from the game. Meanwhile, Dunfermline staged a mini comeback with ten men against Dundee after trailing 4-1. A couple of late counters were not quite enough to earn them a point but once more Kevin Nisbet was on the scoresheet. The Pars other scorers were Ryan Dow in the first half and second half goals from Nisbet and Lewis Martin. Greg Kiltie was sent off after an hour which made the fightback all the more remarkable but they fell just short. Kiltie will miss the game against Inverness. Other Championship fixtures this weekend Alloa Athletic v Morton Dundee United v Ayr United Partick Thistle v Dundee Queen of the South v Arbroath Inverness CT v Dunfermline This is the second meeting this season, the first ended in a narrow 1-0 win for Inverness at East End Park. A Danny Devine foul allowing Sean Welsh to score from the spot. Our last ten competitive meetings shows four wins each and two draws. Inverness have won the last two encounters, both by 1-0 scorelines. Five players in the current squads have played for both clubs, Brad Mckay, Jordan White, Shaun Rooney, James Vincent and Danny Devine. Six if Anthony McDonald gets some game time for the Pars. Remember kids, don't let anyone tell you Santa is not for real. Here is Buffy the Vampire Santa all prepared for her day in the press box at the Caledonian Stadium. Prior to the game, she will be in the bar getting tanked up for the day ahead. Busy period for all Santa's. James Vincent returns to the squad on Saturday after a full weeks training although he might have to settle for a place on the bench. No word on Tom Walsh although I suspect he will be missing once more. Brad Mckay was on the bench last week. With the sports bar open from 1:00pm, there's every chance that Santa will be over the limit, watch this space.......... Here's Steveie Crawford ahead of the game this Saturday....

He needs to cement his place as Celtic and Scotland's No 10 first, I agree with DD he will spend at least another year with Celtic and if he keeps scoring goals his value will be way above £20M in today's inflated prices.
  8. This should get the crowds flooding back.

Whatever wage he is on with Celtic, he should be in a position to double that given the way he has been playing this year. He's always been a Celtic fan so I can see him wanting stay for at least another year and win more with Celtic. Unless he suffers a serious injury then his value will only go up if he continues or even improves on his current form. One would expect he would want to move on before too long though and probably to the English Premiership were he would be up against very good teams every week and would be regularly mixing it with some of the best in the world. He has a terrific attitude to go with his talent and if he carries on the they way he is then he could well attract a price tag of well over £20 million. 10% of that would be nice!

That's what I think too. Presumably better for us too, assuming there really is a sell on clause.

Totally agree, a fantastic player and kinda shows up how the skills levels of today's players have declined.
  12. Not that I see any reason for it, but if offers come in for players looking to leave in the summer like Donaldson we would take 5 figures sums I'm sure. Any replacements would either be from within (if the youth are good enough) or use the settlement to bring in a loanee. It's unlikely we will see signings, afterall in the summer we brought in more players than anyone was expecting and with the league title being out of grasp we are aiming for play-offs so the squad we need now just has to maintain the quality to remain in the top 4.
  13. There are no spondoolicks and no feckin chance of any transfer business this window.

According to Transfermarkt, Brad Mackay’s worth £293,000. Whoever gets him is in for a disappointment!
  15. AND THE MORAL OF THIS CHRISTMAS FAIRY TALE IS – WE ARE ALL FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS – WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES – WE ALL HAVE OUR DIFFERENT VIEWS – WE ALL HAVE A RIGHT TO AGREE OR DISAGREE BUT IT SHOULD BE DONE IN “THE BEST POSSIBLE TASTE” – BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY – WE ARE ALL INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE SUPPORTERS – TILL WE FECKIN DIE – AND WE SHOULD ALL RESPECT EACH OTHER FOR PURELY BEING THAT.
  16. What are you wittering about, surely it's about the best people male or female for the position. You could argue that the team gender balance is appalling too, fact is we need 11 guys on the park. I'm sure if there were ladies out there with cash and football experience we would welcome them in a heartbeat.
  17. Really sorry but shurely the main focus has to be sorting out how we are performing ON the pitch ?
  18. No reason why anyone should slag you off. That's a perfectly reasonable point you make. In addition, they need to see what interest other clubs may have in them. At the same time, they need to be aware that the contract offer that may be on the table here could be removed at any time for a variety of reasons. Some of them spend too much time listening to their agents.
  19. I might get slagged for this, but if players are out of contract in the summer, you can’t blame them for hanging back to see what league we are going to be in. If they have ambitions to play at a higher level, and many could as there is so little difference between the bottom half of the top league and most of the Championship, we can’t blame them. That said, we could be in for a bumpy summer and a big player turnover if we don’t go up. Alan will appreciate a turnover of players!!
  20. I'm putting round a half time collection at the Pars match trying to raise funds for the mega bus get these SPL stars bus fare to whichever "big" clubs insane enough to take them any contribution gratefully accepted
  21. Could raise some funds by selling some of the wantaways sure they'll get a starring role in the pantomine! Traff would make a blinding Snow White bad guy
  22. Can't blame them for wanting to better themselves just find it insane that a bigger club would look at any of that players I'd like to see them out the door best of luck 2 them can't fault Whites effort ! Turnover of players is defo needed this squads no quite good enough for promotion is Robbo the man to identify guys who'll get us up tho ?
