  1. I know, scoring a goal and creating the second just isn't good enough. No wonder the fans kept booing him, you'd think that would raise his confidence and make him score more.

  2. I quite often like to read Dougal's posts since they often contain some very interesting and surprisingly apposite remarks. I've warmed to the guy as time has worked it's magic. He tries very hard to explain his feelings and his views on what he sees which is fine and dandy with me. Not much wrong with that at all is there, IMHO? And it seems that he doesn't often get much praise or recognition at all for having the courage to do this. He's not pompous, not arrogant and rarely if ever abusive. So, all power to his elbow, I say and I think we should view Dougal as a very interesting challenger to our personal entrenched points of view. We always need the darkness as a contrast to being able to see our own personal light and maybe revealing the truth. But, Chas, please do have a good look in the mirror and review some of the content of many of your lengthy posts from your past before you point the fickle finger of fate at Doughty Dougal. Or he might turn round and address YOU as Chippy, Chastening, Charlie from the land of Know-it-All? We are all on here to find some emotional joy in expressing our opinions on whatever the subject is and to maybe throw another light on the subject of discussion. So the last thing we should be doing is wasting our time in trying even harder to trash the other person's posts, feelings or viewpoints. Just let's allow these latter points to fall on our own non fertile ground if for no other reason than the fact that it might just make us a bit more tolerant and remember that none of us are perfect or have all the answers. Except S. P. of course.

  3. This topic is done and dusted let's focus on giving the players management and Club some real support. Difficult day again tomorrow we are plagued by bad luck more injuries.

  4. while ICT isn't the biggest supported club the supporters i know are loyal to the core and wouldn't walk away because of the clubs current state and reading some comments here that some have walked due to it being depressing/hard to watch then fair enough its your money/ your choice no one forces you to go. But for those that still do i consider them supporters. Back in 2015 it was the dream season for me i got to watch my Local team here Glentoran lift the Irish cup gaining European football and a much needed cash injection and then 2 weeks later coming over and watching ICT lift the Scottish cup. Fast forward a short time to the 2016/17 season i sat week in and week out at glens matches seeing us get stuffed by teams we used to dominate, get knocked out of cups by pub teams that got chinned every other week and listen on the radio while ICT was also on the end of a drubbing. Come May time ICT got relegated and the glens finished a lowly 9th of a 12 team league in what was the worst season in the clubs history. Never once did i consider walking away from either side 4 ICT games i came over for that season was 2 losses (county in august and Dundee November) and 2 wins (Elgin scottish cup and Motherwell the day we went down) an expensive hobby following 2 teams but good or bad i stick by my teams and many times the football results have ruined my weekend and left me in a bad mood into the following week it's something i love doing and no matter how tough it gets or how far we fall i'll still be there for when the good times come again it makes them feel that much better

  7. I've flown Flybe once from Edinburgh to Belfast and thought they were fine. Perhaps it depends what you're used to though. I'm a bit of a penny pincher and always go economy, but if you're more used to sitting in first class away from the commoners while you stuff your face with caviar and drinking down champagne perhaps you wouldn't enjoy it so much...

  10. The club has to nurture Polworth because he has spirit. If he is trying his best and some things are not coming off then ...so what? We are ALL human aren't we? He scored the first goal didn't he? Did Kellagher cheer that? Now if he didn't then he has a screw loose and he may not be as dedicated to the team as Polworth is and Mr. Kellacher should be since he is an official and must set an example.' However, shouting dog's abuse, including (apparently) curses and swears, at Polworth before he even left the field shows that he is unable, as an OFFICIAL, to control himself and his utterances in public. That being so, the fact is that had he kept his mouth shut outside the inner confines of the stadium then the incident may never have happened and it would never have shown up the club in public as a laughing stock. It is therefore up to the Board to deal with the situation decisively and really swiftly. If the new Board wants the public to respect them and ICT then they have to set an example. And allowing cursing and swearing by officials and /or players in public, although it seems to be the trend of society today without censure attending it, is nver going to set the tone for anybody associated with this club or anybody outside it's confines who wants to follow it's progress and as an example of an upright, well-managed entity. If the new Board wants to attract reputable talent who have the desire to be successful and looked up to on all levels, then they had better react strongly immediately to this fiasco. The incident may have been brushed under the table for now but the festering will still be going on under the surface and the Board of Directors of our club, in its 'present weakened and sinking state, cannot try to brush it off if they want the respect of the players, their management and support from the public. They must send a message that is unmistakably clear. They must do what is necessary and act.....

  11. Gentlemen and ladies of the jury, I was just joking for Pete's sake. And it's great to see a smile at last on somebody's face ......Oh my, I can't compete with you Doofers though. . Your acerbic and astute wit is a sight to behold. Brief but brilliant.

  13. It's just entertainment. If a writer starts writing p!sh, then people stop buying his books. If a band starts releasing p!sh songs, then people stop going to their gigs. If a film director starts making p!sh films, nobody bothers going to see them. When a football team start playing pish, people stop going to support them. It's not difficult!

  16. That's a good post from Charles which illustrates that there is no easy fix. People go to football for very different reasons. Some turn up through thick and thin because it's their team and the team is just a part of their life; some go to be entertained; some go because they enjoy their team winning; some go to see the big names that other clubs have in their sides. With respect to entertainment, it should also be noted that different things entertain people differently - some like end to end mayhem regardless of the quality of the play whilst others get enjoyment from a more sedate but technically more accomplished style of play. There is no right or wrong about any of this and we really shouldn't criticise anyone who decides they will no longer go to matches. But I think one of the problems we have is that given the success of the last 10 years or so, unrealistic expectations have been created. Now that those expectations are not being met, people are staying away in significant numbers. Unfortunately the harsh reality is that every time somebody decides not to come, it makes it that much harder for the club to meet the expectations of everybody else. It's a vicious circle. Perhaps people could look at things in a different way. Instead of asking whether or not you got value for your £20 at any given match, look upon the £20 as an investment for future success. After all, when you look back at that incident packed semi-final against Celtic and then lifting the cup in the final, just how much are those memories worth? We'll not see the like again unless enough people keep faith with the club through the bad times as well as the good.

  17. Fans have decided that no matter what Vigurs or Polworth do then they arent good enough, they follow some of the sh1te they read on here, someone says Polworth is sh1te therefor he must be sh1te, and it doesnt matter if the lad turns up on Saturday and plays a blinder, these people will still complain he misplaced one pass. McKay on the other hand scored some goals for us once upon a time ( done sod all since he left us) and therefor is immune to the p1sh these fans dish out. Fans have their favourites who can do no wrong.

  18. If it's consistant wins or supporting a team who will deliver what you are looking for from a club, perhaps you might want to support Celtic or Aberdeen? Yes its frustrating but supporting a team means supporting them through good and bad. The real supporters do turn up, they do cheer on the team even in defeat. They also do not boo their own players or scream abuse at them which unfortunately seem to make up a substantial part of the "support" now. Just how is that supposed to lift the heads and drive them on? No wonder there is a crisis of confidence within the team. The youth team got slated for their behaviour which is unfortunate but by God, at least they supported and lifted the team and for that, they are worth 100 of every idiot who who thinks it's ok to shout abuse just because things arn't going the way they would like. They are the cancer eating through the club and causing the greatest spiral of low confidence which is greatly affecting the team. How would you feel as a player if every time you touched the ball you received a torrent of abuse or boos? FFS, Polworth scored a goal and created another yet some "fans" booed him? Sure he may have had a less then expected game but what do you want if two goals warrant that? Just to note, Billy McKay scored 4 goals in 15 appearances, Polworth has scored 3 in 14 appearences, I don't recall anyone giving McKay a hard time? And don't get me started on Vigurs, the things I've heard fans shout because he makes one mistake or poor pass yet all the good stuff he does is ignored. I guess it's just an Inveness thing.....?

  19. I am a relative newbie to ICT and only started going in 2011 due to my wee lad showing an interest. This resulted in me buying a season ticket in 2012-2016 and enjoying the cup run and ultimate glory, and I feel so privileged to have been a part of that. Last year I, like so many others became completely demoralised with going down on match day knowing pretty much that another defeat was inevitably on the cards. My son, who was always excited just to go and be a part of it actually started refusing to go and I would have to end up missing games or go alone, which seemed pointless. Once the pain of relegation subsided, I actually felt quite excited at the prospect of being one of the "big teams" and tried to persuade my son that we would see far more wins and hopefully be top 3 minimum. I gave it a few games just to see how we started before splashing out on another season ticket, partly due to the initial pricing fiasco. The way we started obviously gave me huge concern and I decided I couldn't justify personally paying £260 in one go and would instead tentatively pay per game until I seen a measured improvement. I avoided a few more primarily due to work and holiday commitments but after the Morton and St mirren results I decided to avoid the livi game too, although I felt I might end up missing out on a pivotal turning point. How wrong I was. I then decided to swallow my pride and attend the QOS game again hoping for a fresh spirited performance and maybe even a resounding win. What followed was prob the most boring 90 mins of this year so far. I am now staying away completely, not to boycott as mentioned and not to spite the club or the players but purely and simply because.... Why would I want to ruin another Saturday afternoon down there watching that rubbish? I'm sure this is why so many are staying away now, it's prolonged and consistent agony and I speak to so many who have given it a try and want to be a part of it but simply would prefer to be doing absolutely ANYTHING else on a Saturday afternoon.

  20. The frustrating thing is all these fans staying away until it's sorted out will only harm the likelihood of it all getting fixed. Our attendance have never been great but a 1000 less every week for home games on average is really going to hurt us. Things are bad but the club need 'fans' now more than they have in a long time.

  21. This is clearly a very serious incident and would appear to be a very public manifestation of serious tensions within the club. I would expect the Chairman to take personal control of a thorough investigation of not only the incident itself but of the underlying issues. Given the incident is in the public domain, I would expect an early and very brief public statement to that effect. If what Milescott says is correct then I doubt we will be seeing anything more of Kellacher at the club. As for Polworth, he cannot possibly get off without some significant punishment from the club but I do have some sympathy for the lad. He was subjected to some disgraceful abuse from some so-called "supporters". He will have been angry about that and angry at himself for a sub standard performance after the early boost of a goal. In those circumstances, what the lad should have got was some kind words of consolation from the coaching staff. If Kellacher abused him as reported above then it is understandable if Polworth flipped. As I say, whatever the truth, Polworth must receive some punishment but he also needs the right people to talk things through with. Analysing how he deals both on and off the pitch with frustrations about his performance levels should help him to be a better player. Getting rid of Kellacher and bringing in a sports psychologist would be a good swop.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.
