  1. Whew! Caleyboy, not a very positive attitude. Our boys are playing for the Fort and all fans should encourage them or other smaller teams to forge on, always trying; whether to improve or win matches it makes no difference. How do young players get experience if they aren't playing games anywhere they can get the nod knowing that our team is encouraging them.?

  2. Last season this could have easily become one of the many goalless draws, so picking up a further two points in a game which we didn't deserve to win on the balance of play is fortunate and leaves us only 2 points off the top. Maybe it was more about everything going wrong for The Pars than our luck but its an extra two points we could be very grateful for end of season.

  3. We recorded a Pars special yesterday with some chat about the game on the way to Fife, got the views of home and away fans and bundled it all up into a neat 20 minute bonus package for you to enjoy to round off your weekend in style. https://thewynessshuffle.podbean.com/e/the-paralytics/

  4. Sorry I believe at least 2 to 3 players from our youth will kick a ball for our team. Jack Brown, Fyffe, Machiado, Daniel etc. This is developing local players for our team or for their benefit. We are a sports team if developing our local youth and supporting our community isn't what we do then support man city? I'm sure others could call out more.

  6. Turning the draws into wins with options from the bench - that's been Robbo's mantra - it almost worked at Dens and today he pulled it off to perfection. A tight game, a shyte game - lots of those in this league - but we defended well throughout and changed the whole pattern of the game with early subs. I won't describe the chances because there weren't any but the defence was superb and MacGregor and Welsh on the ball were a joy towards the end - I hope to see them both start next week. Neutrals and Pars might see these points as a steal but we might prefer to see them as a promotion winning side being smart enough to know how to get them.

  8. Penalty for me and few on the park complained. Vincent had burst onto the ball and it caught the flailing arm of Devine who wittingly or not stopped a goal scoring moment.

  9. Great assist from Danny Devine. Never thought he'd be beneficial to us after he left...

  10. The bigger question though is how anyone could get more than 9 minutes of highlights out of that pish!

  11. Very much an ugly win, the wind ruined it as a spectacle, although I am always surprised footballers don't read the conditions and play the ball on the ground more. Doran and Walsh were rather quiet, as was Storey, and poor old White hardly got near anything...thought the Pars were going to pinch it, as they had a lively patch midway 2nd half. I thought all of our subs made a difference, and we had much the better of the last 20mins, although only one shot came out of it. MacGregor looks pretty decent, made us move the ball quicker, and Welsh clearly the best midfielder in the squad. The penalty was ball to arm IMO so it was lucky break, then Welsh scored down the middle with the penalty (not my preferred type of penalty!) With Dundee Utd losing yesterday, first place perhaps isn't a foregone conclusion. Enjoyed another away trip, it's easier/cheaper to get to some of these 'Central belt' game than get up to Inverness with us in the Championship, with the threat of games moving to Friday for TV, and no decent late afternoon flights back on a Saturday afternoon.

  12. Think Robbo got it totally wrong today player wise and formation and could have cost us the game. Keatings was injured he should have pushed Vincent up into his role and brought in Welsh from the start to partner Carson as the two sitting midfielders. This would have kept the formation together that was successful against Morton by winning 5 nil. However he opted to start with Storey and White up top in a four four two which just didnt work.Thankfully he changed it mid way through first half and put Storey wide of a front midfield three. This allowed us to start passing the ball much better. Second half he started the game reverting back to a 442 and White was collecting the ball spraying passes wide and getting involved in the game so well only to be substituted bizarrely imo for Todorov who did absolutley nothing. We got lucky with the pen and gained 3 points from a game that the management got completely wrong tactically and got a lucky break to gain 3 points. If something isn't broke dont try and fix it Robbo 4231 was working fine for us and if Keatings is out then play young Roddy in there with Vincent and Welsh behind as sitting two. Play White up top as he is our best man up there by a country mile to link play up. If Robbo is so insistent to play Storey then it has to be as a wide player to replace either Walsh or Doran and not changing formation to 442. Lucky day at the office today by getting the pen. Still some would say its better to be lucky than good.

  13. Dunfermline were the better team in the first half. Tremarco made a vital headed clearance off the line after about three minutes. The early use of substitutes ultimately won us the three points. Dunfermline's substitute Danny Devine was given a very warm reception by our large travelling support and returned the favour with the handball to enable us to achieve our first away league win of the season. Every little helps and the history books will show we won. Three league games in a row with a clean sheet. The wind caused problems for both teams. Pity really because the playing surface was first class but underused.

  14. An absolutely awful game of football. Aimless hurried balls forward for the most part coupled with poor balls in from the wide areas meant there was nothing to get excited about for the first hour or so. Todorov offered surprisingly little when he came on but MacGregor really helped drive us forward and Welsh showed Carson and to a lesser extent Vincent how to properly keep the ball moving through midfield recycling it well and ensuring continual movement across the pitch as we probed for a way through. Doran had our best chance when a wild swerving effort was stopped by Gill before Devine was punished for a handball in the box and Welsh dispatched the spot kick with confidence. Dunfermline were howling but we were far from impressive ourselves. Still, win when you're playing badly is the sign of champions right...?

  15. Was good to have Welsh back, brought a bit of composure to the midfield.

  16. Last season this type of game would have ended in a draw or defeat so well done the team for getting such a great result. Shows also how important player Welsh is for us - long may he stay fit.

  17. “Calmac’s WiFi working” shocker. Enjoying episode 3 immensely. Moff the anchorman ? Ross, it was Wyness who scored the two late goals in 2000-1. Stewart was well away by this time. A happy car that night heading down the A9. Moff, Hissy swung on the bar at the away end after Barry Robson scored our second with about 3 minutes left. As one of the “Palmerston 28 or so” I was encouraging him to do it again the following Tuesday night. He did respond with a smile as he was unaware that his nickname “half man, half duck” about which he had been moaning to Scotty, had been started by me... Keep it up, guys ?

  18. sorry to disappoint but I am not in the slightest bit interested in Fort William or how their football team gets on. Just because we have a number of players there on loan (the majority of whom will not kick another ball for ICT) does not, in my opinion, justify a place on this particular forum.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
