  2. Well if you want to be positive, we didn’t lose, and we didn’t deserve to lose either.

  4. If watching turns out to be yet another miserable ordeal to endure, then at least it won’t have cost me £15 this time!

  5. Better than the many who have stopped watching altogether. Against all logic, I seem to have acquired a dose of Robert's optimism for this one.

  6. I hope this is a game where I scare the cat! I forget he's sleeping on the chair when I'm watching ict on TV, and when I shout if we score, he jumps off the chair and runs and hides! I really hope it's not me who is hiding my head in my hands again after another horror show.

  7. The Torture Continues   We face Hamilton on Friday night in a televised game with our winless run now at nine games and getting longer with every game. It's a horrendous run of results since we hammered Morton 6-1 at Cappielow on 11th December. Unfortunately we will be going public on council TV on Friday night in a 19:45 kick-off at the Fountain of Youth. Should Accies win, then they will only be six points behind us. Who thought that could be possible three months ago. Q.O.S. 25 4 8 13 25 40 20 We have lost both fixtures against Accies this season by the same score, 2-1.  October 2021: Academicals teach us a lesson: Accies did inflict the first reverse for Inverness, as the Caley Jags drowned at the fountain of youth, and they did it with ten men for over an hour after Reegan Mimnaugh was sent off for a second bookable offence. They opened the scoring when Lewis Smith thumped the ball into the net after only five minutes. Andy Ryan added a second as Inverness crumbled and failed to trouble the home keeper. 2-0 at the break and Inverness bossed possession after the interval but never made Fulton work for his money. Harper hit the bar as the pressure mounted and Michael Gardyne scored a late consolation in injury time, but it was too little too late. With Raith beating Killie and Arbroath drawing, no major damage was done with Raith and Partick the big winners this weekend. December 2021: After an uneventful first half, Inverness slumped to their second defeat of the season to a rank rotten Accies when they surrendered a second half lead after Cammy Harper netted. However two goals in the space of three minutes from David Moyo and Andrew Winter ruined our day and knocked us off our perch at the top. I suppose it was only a Winter's tale, but it doesn't make good reading. That's our Jekyll and Hyde season in all its sorry glory... Same side, different day! If anyone can solve the puzzle, please call the Caledonian Stadium and ask for Billy Dodds. After the rout of Morton the previous week, what should have been a routine victory turned into a Christmas pantomime. Oh no it wasn't I hear you say - Oh yes it was came the unanimous reply. It appears Billy Dodds has learnt nothing or won't listen after these games and the massive slump is now in full flow.  Morton beat Partick Thistle on Tuesday night, but with three games in hand over us, methinks it's only a matter of time before we drop to fourth, or even worse, out of the play-off places. Last Time Out We slumped to defeat at home against a team that had not beaten us in almost twenty years. Twenty years; just let that sink in. Ayr were deserved winners against a hapless Caley Jags where our goal came from a cross that ended up un the net from Lewis Nicolson. Well done on your first goal for the club, just about the only positive from a thoroughly disappointing game. Accies beat Morton 1-0 with Lewis Spence getting the only goal of the game just after the interval.  Latest Team News  We still have a raft of players missing and our season is in tatters. Allardice, Devine, MacGregor, Walsh and Welsh have all been out recently and despite an official preview kicking around on the official site, there's no news, if any, on who is likely to return, so meh! As it is, Accies could put out their under 16's and take the points, so meh again. What have Accies been up to in the latest transfer window? Eric has been doing the homework. Departures Jamie Smith - The 19 year old Goalkeeper is on Loan to Blackburn United FC. until the end of season. Ben Stirling - Centre Back on loan to Edinburgh City until the end of season. George Stanger - The Centre Back left the club in October 2021 on a free transfer to Stirling University FC. Luke Matheson - The English Right Back's loan from Wolves U23 ended in the January window and is now at Scunthorpe United FC. Kyle Munro - A left wing player, he is currently on loan to Dumbarton FC David Templeton - The former Hearts and Rangers left wing player missed much of last season through injury and returned to action at the beginning of the current campaign, but hadn’t featured since coming off the bench in a defeat to Kilmarnock in August, announced his retirement in November 2021. He remains connected to Hamilton FC as a coach with their Youth Academy. Arrivals Daniel O'Reilly - The Dublin born centre back arrived in the January window on a free transfer from Irish side Drogheda United FC. Steve Lawson - Steve Tevi Lawson is a French born right back with dual citizenship of Togo, a winter arrival without a club since leaving Livingston FC last summer after a 3 year spell at there. Ellis Brown - A left sided midfield player who has transferred in January on an undisclosed fee from English 5th tier Vanarama National League side Boreham Wood FC Kai Kennedy - The perpetual loan Ranger turned up at Hamilton in January on loan until the end of this season. The attacking left winger from Rangers Reserves has had several loan spells in the Championship with ICT, Raith Rovers and Dunfermline. Thanks Eck, good work.     View full article

  8. Seeing as Kingsmills thinks I’m an optimist, some pluses from our dismal run: Cammy MacKay has shown he is a very capable goalie with two very good performances in which he had several good saves and could not be blamed for the goals we lost. Lewis Hyde did not look out of place at right back tonight (and I may be wrong but is he not a midfielder?). Lewis Nicolson looks a prospect at left back. Sam Pearson is a find and his first senior goal tonight should give him confidence to kick on. I wish we’d give him the full 90 minutes rather than subbing him, though. It is good to have Devine and Doran back. Hopefully they are fully fit for next Friday. Yes, there are an awful lot of negatives which we are rightly highlighting and discussing, particularly the 10 game winless run and some of our tactics, but I felt it worth taking a step back and looking at positives.

  9. Good entertaining second half and that, from a supporters point of view, is what football is all about. Would have been nice to win it but unlike last week, that performance gives me hope!

  11. I really feel it's down to a lack of quality, A lot of these players would not get near the pitch of ICT teams of the past.

  15. I don't really disagree with anything you've said but we shouldn't be forking out more money on an another 'manager' when apparently we have an SLO, a CEO, a Director of Sport, a Commercial Director, a board of Directors plus obviously other admin staff and the on pitch management. There's probably more that I'm not aware of. That's not even mentioning the plethora of other hangers on who seem to mill around the main stand on match day doing who knows what. Yet not one is capable of making an even half arsed (let alone meaningful) effort of some kind of regular engagement with supporters (or The Trust) apparently. Can't even be bothered replying to queries or typing out the minutes of meeting that happened months and months ago. I have had regular emails regarding £120 hospitality though . It's quite frankly ridiculous.

  16. Just to add Austin Samuels is showing potential and I hope he will improve as he gets more game time. I don't understand why he took off Pearson early!

  17. Terrible spectacle, can thing get any worse. When is Dodds going to accept this is not a 'blip' to quote Naismith. This is a crisis that needs to be addressed now, by an ineffective management team.

  18. No we couldn't. Partick play Raith Rovers. We could possibly drop to fourth though.

  19. Credit to mackay in goals he has done well again tonight.10 games without a win though shows something is clearly not right. We need to really work on confidence and learn to stop giving away crappy early goals then chasing the game

  22. Shocking first 30 minutes but I thought we were much better in the second half but neither team was impressive and neither deserved to win it, but we had decent chances we could and should have taken. A draw was probably the fair result. MacKay was my pick as our best player with a couple of decent saves. A word for Hyde, though. Is he not a midfielder? He quietly coped at right back and Kennedy didn’t really trouble us. At least we showed some spirit and tried in the second half and seemed to want to win. Confidence is clearly an issue, which should be the focus for Dodds and the back room staff. That came across loud and clear until we got the break to equalise. We could easily be fourth at 1650 tomorrow. Edits: Watching the post match, we created enough chances to win several games. Confidence is clearly an issue but I can’t fault the second half effort. I agree with others: 10 without a win is not acceptable and puts everything in context. Decent interview by Pearson, and an honest assessment, including that he should have got a second. Worrying then to hear Dodds say that Welsh was asking what we need to do to win a game. If our senior players are lacking confidence, little wonder our younger players are.

  23. The Billy Mckay of old would have scored at least one of his chances tonight, surely.

  24. Well I suppose that I am now watching the norm. You simply have to take your chances when you have such a degree of possession. And if you don't !!!!!!

  25. Shocking performance for the first 30 minutes or so and a stroke of luck got us back in it. We should have had a penalty for the challenge on Deas in the box but we scarcely deserve to be level. We have showed a few signs before half time that we can trouble Hamilton so we need them to come out fighting in the second half. This game is winnable but we could easily lose it. The next 45 are key to us in terms of this season. Hard to pick out players for praise. Definitely MacKay. Possibly Samuels and Pearson but neither looks comfortable tracking back. There is no point playing high balls. We need to get it wide and run at them if we want to win this. Surprisingly looking at the BBC stats, we’ve had more attempts in the first half.

  26. Absolute torturous 45 mins. Never seen a team so disjointed and lacking in confidence. Will need to improve dramatically 2nd half to take anything from this. Here's hoping

  27. that 45 minutes was an absolute embarassment. Hamilton are simply as bad as we are. And there has only been a handful of passes - it has been a case of aimless hoofs. Welsh looks like the only one who is not scared to put his foot on the ball or play a first timer.

  33. I believe betting is rife nowadays, unfortunately. Currently there are really big adverts on tv showing well known ex football players betting, so, what’s the problem as long as they are not placing bets on their own teams? I think fuller details are necessary before we castigate those who are lured into placing bets, likely due to peer pressure in some cases.

  34. It seems to me that obviously there are so many real supporters sick and tired of this malaise. We are heading for a crisis in footballing terms and now is the time for leadership and togetherness. We need a plan and a route out of this mess. You cannot expect the supporters to try and pull everything together when we are effectively the worker bees. You need the Queen bee and her (or his in this case)entourage to acknoeldge the comments on all the forums, accept the supporters are disgrntled and do something about it. It doesn't matter whether than be the Board or Senior Management, even the Manager and coaching staff, should someone from the Club not be coming out with a rallying cry and call for all to get behind the team and they promise they will at last start listening and engaging. Why not employ a Communications person - even call them a Communications Manager, as everyone else seems to have Manager or higher named post in their title mwithin ICT.

    • Inverness CT -V- Morton - Preview
Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!
