  1. I don't think big duncs been terrible especially with what he was left with. I would quite like to see what he could do next year and hopefully build his own team. (if the battery farm decision is overturned)

  2. They didn’t leave because of Ferguson. Welsh wanted to move last summer whilst Carson had very understandable family reasons for needing to be close to Edinburgh. Ferguson needs to keep us in the Championship this season and, assuming he is still here, next season is the time to judge him. In my opinion, in the January window, it looks to me that the club’s leaders were trying to reduce the wage bill by moving players on or out on loan where they could, and bringing players in on loan who we are probably just paying a fraction of their wages depending on appearances. It is clear that was a high risk strategy but we will know in early May whether it has paid off or not.

  3. Apparently they got caught whilst trying to put the tickets back.

  4. I wonder what break clauses there might be in his 3 year contract? Without the battery farm, I’m not sure how we will be able to pay his wages (which I’m assuming are fairly high) regardless of which league we are in, and we might also struggle to fund the pay-off if he doesn’t stay.

  5. I was excited by the appointment of big Dunc but sadly it's not working. Hopefully we survive, remain in the Championship + he walks at the end of the season.

  6. Can he commandeer a higher wage though? He hasn't really proved himself as a manager. Would anyone else be willing to take a punt on him with his current dismal managerial record? Unless he has other talents !!!

  8. Maybe that's not a choice open to him. Nobody wonder why we clear out high earners and fringe players, then all the non first team players we would pay for are shipped out on loan presumably to clubs that cover their costs and we bring in guys who are from much bigger clubs with more robust finances then see they need to play every game regardless of ability?

  9. He's on a three year deal and there are rumours his salary is being (partly) covered by a director Niculae style.

  10. I can't see him staying beyond this season even if we do stay up. He will be wanting a half decent wage and he probably won't get that at ICT.

  11. Well I was on board with it but the Dunc experiment has been a total failure. Listening to his interview on the iPad while still in bed this morning. Mrs Mantis starts using the hairdryer. So one lot of hot air drowning out the other.

  12. Good to see that the ICT Social Club is a place that ICT fans want to frequent once more and not just a surrogate for the Portland Club.

  13. He got the job off the back of his name and 'fame'. The type of football he seems to want us to play (thank God I missed the game yesterday) we don't have the players capable of executing. It's also utterly mind numbing to watch. We keep hearing to 'get behind the team' but FFS it's an uphill struggle as we've not won in 4 months and what we do see at home is utter dross.

  14. He seems to be giving every indication that he thinks it was mistake coming here. Whatever division we are in next season, I doubt big Dunc will be the manager.

  15. I was wishing the big man well when he arrived but it’s becoming apparently clear he hasn’t a clue what he’s doing? Let’s be honest the marquee manager signing was a smokescreen to take the heat of a very incompetent board to give them time to try and get the battery fiasco pipe dream through. I actually feel sorry for Duncan coming into this mess. Dougal

  16. Our last home win was November 11th last year, against Ayr Utd. That is a terrible statistic. Are we a team…… or bunch of individuals? A recent post on this site stated we only have 7 or 8 players under contract for next season. Will Ferguson get this bunch of predominantly loanees to scrape survival in the Championship???? Will he stay if we drop to L1 ?????

  17. Not sure when they started doing it, but the ICTST has business cards at the West Stand kiosk. Get yerselves joined up

  18. Dunc and the squad have done owt wrong. They're not the one who drove us into this pit of failed business ideas. Just hope we can get Dunc on side to somehow use his contacts to get our precarious position out there.

  20. He’s not a board director. He is just an employee and is answerable to the board.

  21. They need pushed out , One especially who has done hehaw for the club but cause financial problems and leaves a trail of destruction behind him . Board need to waken up and get rid . SG you’re not worth a minimum wage to this club . Never seen such a hated board director which in itself says it all . Majority of fans surely cannot be wrong . He’s holding on hoping the Battery project goes through and even if it did , Majority of that money will be sucked up pretty quickly lining his pockets . You won’t see him out of pocket that’s for sure .

  23. And Malky Mackay. He's still staying in his caravan in Strathpeffer. Give him a shout Or we could see if The Messiah Michael Stewart wants a shot at it? He is such an expert and so knowledgeable about everything to do with football!!

  24. As the title says, enough is enough regarding the clowns () Scot Gardiner and to a lesser extent, Ross Morrison, how many clubs is the dud SG going to completely ruin before he never gets a gig again because his reputation as a CEO is getting WORSE than Donald Trump or Nicola Sturgeon etc . I'm not sure if our club is salvageble but I'm sure it could be an attractive proposition for someone with a lot of money which could be become possible if we go into administration but that would be catastrophic for the club imho as it means automatic relegation unless we go on a long unbeaten run, preferably with wins and it would mean that we are 10ts behind the rest of the league at the start of next season if we wait until the start of next season as was mentioned in the expectation thread! Both Dundee and Hearts have recovered from the clowns mess left so there's no reason why we can't and it doesn't necessarily have to be due to sugar daddies because Ann Budge and John Nelms aren't exactly loaded! Hopefully we take our anger out on Ayr but I suspect it will be the support that will have the knives out for the board and tbh they won't be shy in showing their anger towards them! So I am not going to say Duncan Ferguson out, instead I'm going to roar GTF ACOT GARDINER AND ROSS MORRISON, you've ruined our club so I hope you're proud !

  26. I think he'd walk and be back coaching at Everton faster than Gary Bollan could eat a couple of pies.

  27. Hopefully big Dunc leaves on 4th May. Then an Ian McCall type who knows the Scottish game and can get something from nothing comes in and gets us out of League 1 and back in the Championship for the 25/26 season.

  28. I wonder if he will stay even if we finish 8th and no prospect of battery farm money ????? How can he rebuild a team (only 7or 8 under contract for next season), if there is no cash for his plans. He doesn’t seem the type to use our youth set up.

  29. I actually have more hope about getting something from the next two games because they’re away, despite who we’re playing…

  30. If we get relegated with Large Duncan in charge I'd also say that could be the end of his managerial career.

  31. Don't think it even got off the ground. He's got a job for life at Everton as he is a legend there. In this part of the world he'll be remembered as our worst manager in 30 years.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.
