There was certainly talk of Butcher being sacked - look no further than just about every post on this forum around 4 or 5 months ago if memory serves me correctly! There'll be some words being eaten now though, no doubt.

Some gooduns yesterday but the one that had me in stitches was directed at the lineswoman after another dodgy decision - something about "putting on the dinner" - but I canna remember how it went. Pure gold anyway!

Not the best Highland derby I've seen but entertaining nevertheless. As previously said, County dominated the 1st half, we looked much better after the break, and could have nicked it, but County finished strongly, so it could have gone either way. Can't help feeling that County raise their game a fair bit against us, perhaps to a level they can't sustain against other teams. And we seem to play sh!te against them, this season anyway. I can see Dunfermline joining the fray as the season nears a climax, with Dundee dropping out. Can County keep up with the big boys - who knows? Finally, a big "Thank you" to the old guard (with the exception of Tokely who worried the hell out of me whenever he got the ball) - Duncan especially, who kept us in the game and also Munro and Golly. Esson was mostly superb. Bully was mince - far too lightweight and unimaginative. Rooney tried hard but was marked out of the game. Hayes kept our hopes up, as did Eagle. And there were a few others playing for us, but I didn't really notice them.

Derek Adams would be the perfect replacement, from our point of view!

If County get to the cup final we could very well end up with another diddy team taking one of the Euro slots and ultimately embarrassing the nation even more than usual. Interesting to note a degree of support for County in their replay against Hibs - perhaps a mark of the maturity of the supporters of the Senior Highland team. Can't see that being reciprocated if the roles were reversed though - they've always hated us, despite our generally tolerant attitude to them!

I'm not a weegie and I'm not religious. I don't give my wife a kicking when my team loses. Therefore I have no affinity to either of the old firm.

Thanks CaleyD - I'll be having one then! Then I can bin the old VHS tape, which is much cheaper than buying a new video-tape machine.

CaleyD, is it safe to assume this is a full resolution DVD and not just a recording of a VHS tape? (Don't wish to appear cynical but I've been caught out like this before! ;) )

Can't agree with you there Revbirdog, tongue-in-cheek or no! DVD and then Blu-ray are huge leaps in quality over Betamax and VHS. MP3 is not a patch on CD's as far as sound-quality goes, although you may argue that they serve different purposes. MP3 is generally listened to through headphones by people on the move, where sound quality is not an issue. If sound quality is an issue, put a CD (or an LP if you're a traditionalist/luddite!) on a proper hi-fi.

MP3s are the dumbing-down of quality music.

I'm inclined to agree with Alex: "twenty-ten" follows the format of previous centuries. The only reason for the initial question, I think, is that it's a wee bit awkward using that format for the first ten years. What did you call 2009 - was it twenty-nine or twenty-oh-nine or just plain two thousand and nine? I wonder what they called the first ten years of the last century - was 1901 called nineteen one, nineteen-oh-one or what? Could we have a little help here, Scarlet Pimple!!! :P

The title of the thread says it all. ICT is currently regrouping having been relegated from the SPL. Old stalwarts have moved on; new players have moved in and are now starting to gel. The team is gradually making progress and is rising up the first division. Who in their wildest dreams seriously believed we would bounce straight back up after all these changes? Yet there is now a glimmer of hope. Top 4 would be quite an achievement - promotion, though unlikely, is now a faint possibility. It's quite amusing reading this forum after a defeat or a draw - all doom and gloom, "Butcher must go", etc., etc., "No chance of promotion now", blah blah blah, yet when we win the forum is noticeably quiet - very few postings on the main board on the Sunday or Monday following a Saturday win. As the title says, "Time for a reality check"
