No-one was a bigger fan than me, but I think the alarm has gone off on Dennis now. He went to Hearts based on his Div 1 record. He failed to make the step up there and whilst he has provided moments here, he has never cut it in the SPL. We kept thinking it us just around the corner - wait till his confidence returns/back from injury/good partner. He has just not found his striking boots, since the lower level. He will succeed at County and will generate a few "promotion contenders" flurries *snigger*, but we need goals, and he aint got them.
  2. Hi there, is this going to be in association with Good for a Giggle? They are loadsa laffs.
  3. Fascinating. Sounds to be pretty hard done by, but why did he enter into the Marius debate without getting assurances in writing. As a fan, I will want to know if these accusations are true and no doubt Mr S. is now working up his responses - he obviously cant say that they were political. Savage is stating the obvious, however, when he talks about Marius. If he does well in the Summer he will be off for big bucks and kerching, Savage is a hero. If he fails to shine, he will still be off and the club will have recouped the investment. Either way, and mark this, he will be off. His wage, as it stands is beyond our means, and any bid to pay it will cost us dear. He will never win us big for us. The bottom line, however, is that a football club is not a charity, nor a community resource - it is a results driven business. We are only paying customers, and like buying a house, or shopping for groceries, the big boys will fight it out, and we will get what we will get - the rest is hot air. As for the stadium at the Bught!!! I was wondering what happened to that one!!
  4. It is heartening however, that Orion, have seen to contact this board directly themselves rather than allow us to hear all the stuff round it via the meeja. I am just disappointed that those who run the club have seen it suitable to p1sh around with us, the fans and stakeholders, in such a shoddy dishonest and deceitful manner. These wordgames are lies, and we deserve better. We know that not everything works all the time, and mistakes can be made at all levels. Lets start seeing some owning up. Where next? A hunder season tickets lie in the balance. I for one am heartily stick of the whole sh1tey mess.
  5. Quite IHE. Last time they were up here they were shockingly lacklustre, on par with Gretna. I could not beleive how we could have lost to them away, we must have been very bad or they had improved. I think it was the former. They are still a poor side apart from a few wee tricks goin forward. They made us look very good, so lets not get carried away. Which isn't to say I hadn't a great afternoon. Roy was my MOM, great going forward, picking up all sorts of things and to my eyes, certainly took the second goal. Imrie is much improved and has come on a lot since he came here. Big things await him. Marius took his goal well, and nearly got a cracker a few minutes earlier, with a first timer. Dennis didn't do it and I think he never will again. Hart put on a good show whilst on the field, and the two of them will make things sizzle over the bridge next season. Fair display, and whilst the defence did seem to be tighter, we still lack bite up front. All being well, we should get up a place or two with performances like these, as it seems Falkirk may have gone of the boil, and Jams having a morale crisis. And as someone has pointed out the ref played a great game, which is a refreshing change. Or maybe it was because Black and Duncan weren't playing!
  6. I dont wish to be uncharitable, but does a double hernia mean that you do stupid fouls, mijudge the path of the ball, and pass to opposition players??
  7. Yes, very. It seems they hold their board in the same low esteem as we do. But sick, as I am of our own internal politics, I can't say I care a whit why. Good quote too from Malcolm, "I have just found out about the Chester City allegation myself and it has come as a surprise as we would never do anything illegal at ICT." ARE YOU HEARING PAUL SHEERIN??!!?? ARE YOU HEARING RICHIE HART?!?!!??
  8. All true and that is why the older players, those with wife and kids, are keen to stay/come back. The younger ones want to get away to noise.
  9. More gossip. FOAP (friend of a player) confirms that... Whilst held in high regard as a player, IB is disliked for his big heed. He had something to apologise to the other players for, and did this in the most perfunctory and disrespectful manner. He has interest from other clubs and will be off if the price is right. His Dad is his real manager and gets many of his personality traits from him. CB has not lost the dressing room - is well liked, but is a hard taskmaster. QFT, as someone, in another thread says.
  10. You haven't had Paul Sheerin in your taxi, have you?
  11. He's not the Messiah! He's a very naughty boy!
  12. Pugwash, America, Courageous, Kirk, Birdseye, Para Handy, Beefheart, Scarlett, Hook, Jack Sparrow, Corelli...your guess is as good as mine.
  13. Quite frankly, I was glad to see the back of ICAT. All true ICT fans knew that ICAT was a manufactured choice. At no time were we consulted, and only a run of poor results brought his tenure to boiling point. He has moved back to the Central Belt for family reasons. Angus the Stag, was the peoples mascot. His bagpipe playing drew the best from team and fans. He is still with us and awaits his chance. Nessie has come in at short notice, many would say he was a logical choice, many would say that his lack of track record in animal mascotry makes him a long shot, but if his sucess as a mythical tourist attraction is anything to go by we shoud be in for some good times. Can he make the step up? Only time will tell. One thing is for sure though. NO-ONE wants the Fox back!
  14. No he wasn't. Usual some good tuches, one good shot and a heck of a lot of posing. Overpaid, undermotivated mercenary. No one is bigger than the club.
  15. Yes, I saw him going in, looking far from happy. No-one is bigger than the club.
  16. Following Brewsters refusal to take my advice last week, and our according loss. This week. I have selected a team of self-serving egotists. Hitler. Heather Mills, Stalin, Robert Mugabe (capt), Donald Trump. My wife's boss, Graeme Souness, Satan, Earl Haig Kim Jong-Il Craig Brewster I have put Heather Mills, on the side of her good leg, where she can do most damage with flanking runs, but it is Muagabe's distribution that will cost Gretna dear. The Defence, In particular "Tower" Trump, will hold firm against a Gretna team intent on impressing for next season. Long balls to Jong-Il and Brewster may distract. This team will holdout for a 1-1 draw against Gretna Boys Brigade/Scouts select.
  17. Nope. It was just another foot-shooting defeat. End of.
  18. Yes, I have achieved a kind of inner peace. I see beyond the turmoil into the realms of the eternal. I think it started when I saw Gretna at Victoria Park, I think I saw Brewster in the pie queue, stretching over for the salad dressing. Hope this helps.
  19. I have this week picked a team of backroom boys and fictional characters. Old fashioned 2-3-5 "Sixties" tribute formation. Reed Richards David Sutherland, The Thing (Ben Grimm) Graeme Bennett, Yoda (Capt), Pie Man at the Home end. Flash, Alan Savage, Brewster, Spiderman, Jock McDonald. Subs. Captain America, Steve Paterson, Green Lantern, Dennis Wyness' agent and Johnny Storm. With Yoda acting as both stopper and midfield sweeper, he has options of both Grasser and the Pie Man to distribute to Spiderman or Alan Savage running the inside channels. In addition Brewster also provides a long ball option from Ben Grimm, while Sutherland presses forward to Flash on the wing. If Aberdeen resort to a 4-3-3, as I think they might, Paterson and Johnny Storm can come on to bolster the defence. I expect this side to win 3 - 0. DO YOU HEAR ME BREWSTER?//???
  20. Some supporter you are.... :rolleyes02: I am afraid now that I am exhibiting a definite lack of interest in the outcomes. I am reminded of our greatest upset ever, the Celtic one, and the Tickers that came on the website to say thanks. "You have got rid of Barnes. He didnt have a clue" I am getting like this with Brew now. If only there was a sign that he had a clue WHY we were losing every week. We can only speculate, and that is making us paranoid. Is he just clearing out, making a new model army? If he is, will it work? It is a risky tactic for a novice manager, he has no yardstick to measure against. If, on the other hand he is just getting rid of players who don't like the gym and pasta, I say good luck to him. But it is hard to maintain the enthusiasm for fitness and performance levels in the players, without the managerial technical ability and results to back it up. Getting rid of our our favourites without that reassurance, will bring nothing but aggression from the fans. My season ticket renewal is thrown into question. And yes, this is another "At least we wont be relegated post." Unless something is done vey quickly, we will finish 2nd bottom, our lowest SPL finish ever. Then surely the poo must hit the fan. So, here's to a loss against Gretna - (I think the Dons one is already written). Bring it on.
  21. Like the way you are thinking. I too was deeply critcal of Rory, his talents and in particular the way Brew kept playing him. But in what I have seen in his last few home appearances, I am more than willing to change my view. He has bulked out and has shown cofidence, commitment and the desire to make an impression. I believe him to be a prospect, and along with Marcus and Zander may just surprise a few folk next season. As for the current crop of laggards, including the God formerly known as Denzil, lettem go.
  22. Lovely sun coming right up the glen. I had over-dressed and took my jacket off at half-time. The daffs are coming up in the garden and I am seeing things that need done. Half-way through the second half, my phone went off. I had forgotten to set it to silent as I usually do. It was my daughter with some shopping list items to get on the way home. We had a wee chat about the weekend plans. This is my review.
  23. Nope. This is it. The honeymoon is over for ICT and Craigie. He is going nowhere and neither are we. This is real life.
  24. What a shock when I saw the title of this thread! He didnt play that badly on Saturday, did he?
