We are playing 1st game at home v St Mirren.  Not too bad a start.

Down side is, only 1 home game v Celtic, Aberdeen, Cownty before split. Potentially a bit of a financial hit unless we get top 6 again.

The fixtures could have been a lot kinder to us . Average attendance will be down I'd imagine .

On the bright side, possibly 3 home fixtures after the split if County and Aberdeen and ourselves make top 6!

Feck it - let's just win the league this season eh.

:ictscarf:

Didnt we start against St Mirren last season?

We have 2 home games v St. Mirren, Partick Thistle, Motherwell, Hearts and Hibernian

And 2 away games v Kilmarnock, Celtic, Ross County, St. Johnstone, Aberdeen and Dundee United.

The festive fixtures have not been kind at all home to Dons, away to Thistle, home against Celtic, the derby then away to Motherwell.

They have obviously constructed it so that we play County just before the split too incase its a meaningful game.

When's the TV schedules announced so we can work out kick-off times and days?

Yes, 2-2 away.

How many times have we won our opening fixture in the SPL? I can only recall one.

Yup - against Aberdeen and we got relegated that season.

We tend to do well if we've had a slow start.  Odd.

Sky say they're releasing theirs on 8th July.

Here's a wee sneak preview of opening day satellite TV line up.....

Celtic V Ross County [sky Sports 1]

Partick Thistle V Dundee United [bT vision]

St Mirren V Inverness CT  (Alba)

Rangers V Hearts [History Channel]

The pre split fixtures certainly haven't been kind from an 'income' point of view.

So lets just make sure we make top 6 again, and, as a bonus, a Scottish Cup run would be nice. Sod it, lets have a League Cup run too.

Or let's just win the chuffing things eh?!

bdu, one wee error: The New Year's derby is at TCS. So there should be no less danger of it being postponed

I think that's a good opening day fixture, but again we have St M. I'm not too keen on the fixtures we have got at home twice but as every says let's make top 6 again. At least the new boys will get to know about the SPL in one fixture against St Midden with all their tactics.

Festive fixtures are great. Partick for our Xmas party and Celtic and them at home. As for the games at home etc. it isn't a surprise as it is a simple reverse of last season. Th club expect this as it happens every year and is budgeted for.

When do the TV companies get involved and start moving the fixtures about? I don't want to start buying bus or train tickets until I know for certain when the game will be on.

TV schedules are the least of your worries there - the fixtures are going to be completely revamped to enable Richard Brittain to play for both of his clubs.

Am I right in thinking the plan is for more Fri & Mon night games this year? So we could have games on a Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon in the SPL?

Yes, 2-2 away.

05/06 won 2-0 away to Falkirk. Both goals from Craig Brewster
