Party in the Park

-------ICT Press Release -------

'Party In The Park' will go with a real bang

Caley Thistle will collect their SPL First Division championship trophy on Saturday with the home match with Dundee transformed into 'The Party In The Park'.

The club is calling on fans to come to the stadium early to savour all the entertainment. Chairman George Fraser revealed:"Thanks to the superb generosity of our friends, we're able to offer what promises to be the best title party the SFL has seen. It's a 'thank you' to our fans for sticking by Terry Butcher and the lads and cheering home the champions."

The chairman added: "I want to give a massive thanks to CK Events, Moray Firth Radio and Limelight for giving up time and resources free of charge to make 'The Party In The Park' an afternoon to remember."

MFR will broadcast live from the Stadium from 2 pm and circa 2.20 pm on to the pitch will come The Highland Marchers -- hardy Caley Jags fans who have been walking from Ayr since last Saturday's game. Terry Butcher hopes to march round the pitch with them.

This is followed by live entertainment -- a special musical act which is being kept under wraps to surprise the crowd. This act will also perform at half time.

After the game, we will have a Hampden-style stage presentation on the pitch as the trophy is presented to skipper Grant Munro, with another surprise feature. After the medals are handed over, the manager and players will take time from their lap of honour to be interviewed live on MFR.

Chairman Fraser said:"It's got all the making of celebrating in style. To get the full benefit, supporters should arrive that bit earlier.Bring all the kids, it's a special family occasion and it should be a wonderful atmosphere."

Manager Terry Butcher said:"The players and management team really appreciate people donating their efforts to ensure the day really goes with a swing. They all have friends and family coming to see them collect the trophy and it's nice to see the club, CK Events, MFR and Limelight coming together and putting on a great show."

red hot chilli pipers are on tour in germany. dont think it'll be them

I actually filled Les up with Vodka and Coke last night and he told me that it's going to be "Torridon and the Staggies" performing "We're On Our Way" live with a medley from the Dingwall Gaelic Choir as a supporting act.

How may gallons does it take to fill Les up?

A LOT more than it takes to fill up your "place of work" I'm sure! :)

But if he's as successful at filling up the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday as he was for Barry's testimonial, I'm sure there will be a few more V and Ks coming his way in the Social Club after the game.

Nothing wrong with the 'pipers. One of my relatives is a member of the band.

Just out of interest, is it likely that Bullock will be in goal for Dundee? Let's hope so, that'll make things even more entertaining!

I was thinking - Would it not have beeen better for the club to reveal who the act for tomorrow was (nothing in todays courier) as some people who were fans of the act may have come to see them and put some more pennies in the ICT pockets :cry03:

Don't think that is a problem main stand sold out and North stand only a few seats left.

I believe the band are called Surprise. I read that in the Courier.

Cringe!!!!!!!!!! :swear02:

last time I saw a band in a stadoum before a football match was the lsat game played at Maine Road.

The Badly Drawn Boy did a set before kick-off and the Doves were on afterwards..........however the football was sh!t and City lost 2-0 to Sot'n

Tomorrow I'd settle for a 5-0 win for ICT and put up with the Krankies in order to get it

That's a good shout actually with the Highland marchers arriving as they sing it.

I've been reliably informed that a band mentioned in this thread, is indeed the band that will play tomorrow.

Great that narrows it down to about 100 groups and 500 solo artists . Now let me see whow it could be ?.

So it is a band? that means more than one person. The Krankies?

will probably be the rubbers

No Bullock :party01:

That's a shame, the crowds banter with him would be the icing on the cake. So who will replace him then? Will it Derek Soutar or will they have to play that old geezer again?
