Assuming a third of our fans likely to attend the final want to travel by bus we are going to need in the region of 3,000 seats or at least 60 coaches.

Are there that number of buses available for hire in the inner Moray Firth area ?

A logistical challenge for those coordinating the exodus.

I was also wondering that, and if there enough buses in Aberdeen to meet their demand or do they have to draw them in from further west, eventually competing with us?

Another consideration is that there will probably be some Aberdeen supporters buses leaving from Inverness!

In the old days British Rail would have put on a couple of football specials but, sadly, with the disjointed rail system these days, that's unlikely to be an option.

Hope cjt remember the fans who took the buses to semi and give them first refusal

Would a direct train between Inverness and Bridgeton (if it's Celtic Park) or somewhere be an option?  Don't know how do-able that would be mind.

Would a direct train between Inverness and Ibrox be possible?  Don't know if a regular choo choo would be able to use the subway tracks though, or fit through the tunnels!

I am sure Ross County have the answer to that and other questions!!! They may indeed have transport in mothballs that they can rent us!!! Countyair anyone?

They ran a football special for County in the cup final and also the Caley v Celtic game in 2000, so I would imagine they might this time. Will only get it through to Queen Street though

Hire a very large dirigible --that would cause a sensation and no mistake. Put us really on the map. Ha!

Er--but not any that are called the Hindenberg.

Scot Rail have tweeted that they are in discussions with clubs about putting trains on.

We’re working with Aberdeen + Inverness FCs to put on extra services for fans travelling for League Cup Final. We’ll update asap.

Good, if slightly surprising news. Pity the final isn't at Hampden where the trains could run right through to Mount Florida.

Hopefully they keep ICTChris off these trains.

Why? Is he known to the BTP as well!!!

It would be great if there was a football special going to the final, going back many years football specials were common and were my favourite mode of transport and it added to a great day out

Sadly these days though they would probably be dry trains due to the minority of bams who spoil it for everyone

Would be great banter with the Aberdeen fans on a football special ;-)

Transport and accommodation sorted.

Just waiting for match tickets now.

Considering getting a train from Edinburgh to Inverness thena  football special down just for the train anarchy.  #anarchy #awaydays #amf

Why not contact County and offer to rent out some caravans?
