All our expectations are naturally high as a result of our great season.  So disappointment at 'only drawing' with Kilmarnock is a natural first reaction. However don't forget Killie have been playing

  • Dave the Rave's having an excellent season. One below par performance against tricky attacking players and you want to punt him, glad you're not my manager!

Sounded like a cracker.  But if you score 3 at home you expect to win!

Missed opportunity, yes, but with Dundee Utd losing we move 7pts clear going into the game on Tuesday!

Not really, yes, no.

Kilmarnock were a decent, solid side and apart from the goals we scored we created little of note. Defensively, Raven had a bit of a nightmare in the second half and Esson just doesn't look as commanding as Brill who should regain his place as soon as he is fit. Watkins faded in the second half and Ferguson didn't get any service which was disappointing. Christie, Williams and Shinnie were standouts for us and Johnson and Obedayi were good for Killie.

Special mention to the referee today - Kilmarnock's equaliser was scored in the 4th minute of added time in the first half after only 2 were added on... Also, the fact that only 1 minute was added at the end of the game was ludicrous.

Over the piece Inverness probably edged it, but can't complain too much about the result. There was an element of good fortune for 2 of Killies goals, but we can't moan too much, they looked like a pretty decent team, especially going forward. The first came from a shot which took a huge deflection straight into the path of a Killie striker. The second was a bit of poor decision making from Esson. We had a goal kick deep in injury time. He played a hospital pass out to Nick Ross which resulted in a turnover of possession and a free kick to Killie - which they scored from. Had he just gone long chances are the ref would've blown for half time. Fair enough he's probably still rusty from lack of first team football, but he'll need to step up his game if he wants to keep his place when Deano recovers.

On another day we would've won by a couple of goals, but at least United lost again, so it's a point gained over them.

2 points dropped. Like a bad dog owner we couldn't hold on to a lead. Our defence all at sea for their first and third goals.

Saying that Killie got lucky and were helped by poor refereeing. MacLean paid more attention to his spray foam settings instead of picking up blatant elbowing and shirt holding by McGennis and Pasquale all the way through the game. Nick Ross was also fouled before the free kick for their second goal.

I agree that our attacking faded in second half. Marley needs more help up front and it was too soon to blood Calum Ferguson.

Killie are a different side under Locke. They have more fight and are better organised. We could analyse each goal we conceded and say we should have done better, but you get games like this. We didn't create many clear cut chances but still scored 3 goals. The one thing I would say is the defence is more solid with Deano between the sticks.

Not sure why Nick Ross was hooked for Fetguson, he was one of our most effective players today. Ferguson didn't add much when he came on, maybe too soon for him when the game is finely balanced. Got to be happy with a point today and where we sit at this stage of the season. Mon the Caley Jags.

Had a youngster there today for his first ever live game. He went away delighted with the fare on show - we were the better team in terms of possession and smooth football but from a neutral's point of view this would have been an excellent game to watch - lots of attacking play, meaty challenges, bizzare refereeing, etc.

The lad has signed up to Caley Jags Together and I am sure will be at more matches pretty soon.

Ross was getting kicked all over the park with no protection from the ref. I guess that had a bit to do with it.

I thought we were by far the better team today and were very unlucky not to get all 3 points.

Think that DoresBoy and maself put it all into perspective on the way home - somebody was enthusing over the Highland League scores - as we would have been 25+ years ago. And here we are - 3rd in the SPFL Premier League - on the brink of Europe - Hampden beckoning - expecting to win against Kilmarnock - should have beaten Killie - the Arabs getting beaten - O2feckinB. We played them off the pitch but we lost a lead and goals 3 times on the trot. More later but SLOPPY.

Simply have to go to tannadice - potentially our Biggest game of the season - what are the Juanjo Away plans ? All ICT fans GET There.

That was some game. Three good goals from us, and Killie scrapped like hell - as said above, they are a far more motivated side under Locke than they ever were under Johnston. There was an an element of luck about two of their goals, but it would be churlish to grudge them the draw. We are more suited to going away from home against teams that come out and attack but we scored enough today to put most teams away - roll on tuesday night. Just finished watching man City demolish Newcastle in the EPL, wasn't half the entertainment that you saw at TCS. Sure it's a higher standard but only one team was ever going to win - money talks. I just didn't fancy listening, give me Caley Thistle above that any day.

Johndo's right. Get yourself to tannadice on tuesday - there's still space on the bus and it could be pivotal to our season.

On another day we would have won that 3-1 and everyone would have been raving about the great play all over the park.

Unfortunately, lady luck shone a bit brighter on Killie and had a big hand in their first two goals.

Such is the nature of the game sometimes and I think it would be a bit unfair to go looking for scapegoats.
