As it's only a week and a half until the transfer window opens, I thought I'd start a thread where we can "discuss" any transfer related news, be it rumours (where is IHE lol) or articles in the newspapers with quotes from JR on transfer news. 

Imho, we probably don't need much and, Tbh, I don't see much business and that goes for all clubs, not just us. 

 

I think it's imperative that we extend Kai Kennedy loan, otherwise we may be on the look out for another winger.

Are you deluded - any one of them probably earns more a week than our whole club budget. Right now football (outwith the TV money in the biggest leagues) is on its arse, there is no money to sign players or take expensive loans.

FFS, I only asked a question, there is no need for that ridiculous words, jesus, this forum is getting worse by the day! Ask a simple question yet get head bitten off and accused of being "thick" and, as per usual, no admin to either steer the thread back on topic or to ask for politeness!!

Wind your neck in or take another break! No-one called you thick and you didn't report the post. There is nothing for an admin to steer in any direction and if one person disagreeing with you equates to everyone having something against you then you may need to re-evaluate things a little. 

Kai Kennedy being linked with loan deal to Raith rovers. Not seen it confirmed yet...

Can't see it happening, but could Glenn Middleton, also a winger from the Gers, be a possibility for loan? Would be a stupid move to go through the January window without picking up some players on an, at least, permanent deal

Declan McDaid the latest linked on Pie and Bovril, presumably by a Dundee fan 🤔

I thought he was at Ayr but I may be confusing him with another McDaid.

It's the same guy. He moved from Ayr to Dundee at the start of last season. Any time I've seen him, there have been odd flashes of skill that put defenders on the back foot but little end product, and neither Ayr supporters or Dundee supporters are particularly complimentary about him - comments ranging from 'frustrating player' to 'gutless shitebag'. We certainly need a replacement for Kennedy, but we don't need another Billy King, with some skill but no heart. On the other hand, as people have pointed out, we have a habit of getting the best out of players who haven't met their potential elsewhere, and Robbo's record in the transfer market is pretty good, so if he is targeting McDaid, then he presumably sees him as someone who can improve, and who can improve us.       

I like McDaid but there's no question he isn't consistent enough.

It's all moot as I understand we're not even close to being on his radar. A move to Partick Thistle beckons.

We need a winger to replace Kai Kennedy so, with our relationship with Hearts, could we maybe get Jordan Roberts or Lewis Moore from them.  Both will likely not get much game time due to Ginnelly and Walker/Haring etc plus JR has played for us before. 

I also saw on a fans twitter that they'd like Ralston in but do we need an RB? 

Surprised 'nobody' is suggesting Dele Alli or Diego Costa...................

It’s because everyone knows they’d be expecting regular first team football, which is something Robbo wouldn’t be able to guarantee.

I noticed he was not in the Motherwell squad last night. 

Motherwell probably just left him in the car park at the ground for Ross County to collect in the morning.

As expected McDaid moves to Partick.

Tomorrow is the last day so let's hope we don't get any dreaded news regarding players leaving

 

It has happened before when Oakley left on deadline day, and it was far too late to go get a replacement. 

Oakley has returned from Bulgaria and signed for Killie.

I assume we don't plan to make any signings today?

We need a new face or two in (at least) but whether we actually get anyone is a different matter. A creative wide man, striker and defender would be excellent.

There is no great panic to make any signings today unless we are taking anyone, possibly Billy McKay, on loan.

There are a lot of very capable players who remain free agents who we could still sign over the next few weeks.

With County having sold Stewart to Sunderland it is perhaps less likely that they will be loaning out a striker, but who what others signing they will be making.
