  1. Pre merger if a mob was coming to Inverness to play any of the teams a "welcoming committee" would have been on hand to greet them , the committe would have been made up of fans of all 3 Inverness sides . No way would Elgin have been allowed to swagger about our town taking the p!ss at will .

  2. Aye, I can just imagine what these Old Codgers were talking about too. "See these young lads... they only come here so they can make a noise and a complete @rse of themselves on a Saturday afternoon. No interest in football at all. Well I suppose it keeps them off the streets. But the soooner they get away back to the North Stand the better. Tut, tut, tut. Pass the Werthers Originals." Don't worry son. The day is approaching faster than you realise. You probably won't suddenly wake up one morning and simply realise that you have become an Old Codger. As sure as night follows day though, it's a status which is certainly coming your way. But enjoy the intolerance of youth for the moment, because it won't be available to you for all that much longer.

  4. I started watching it but turned of after 5 seconds as no point reliving that day. Why dont you see if you can find any clips where we had to beat Dundee by 4 goals to to possibly go into the top six, I'm sure that game would have been noisy too. If you are referring to the Elgin match atmosphere wise, on paper it expected to be more of a friendly to us and if the south stand holds 2200 then I would say 1800-1900 vocal Elgin fans turned up for their big day. GJaggy you also mention that people wont move to create a proper singing section. I was a firm believer that the people who dont want to make a lot of noise could politely move for the good of the fans and the club, my theory was blown out of the water at the Elgin match as there were so many seats spare in the North stand that the ones that wanted to make some noise could have easily moved to section G and it didnt happen.

  5. I think if everybody is being completely honest with themselves here, we can all agree that Elgin did not deserve a replay. If we are a poor team, but had twenty one shots and two goals in our favour, how bad must Elgin be? Also, classics such has "SPL, your having a laugh" or "Stand up if you hate Caley" is hardly putting our support to shame. If you've got nothing worth signing about, then don't sing. They were all drunk because this was the game of their lives. Did everyone hear the massive creaking sound whenever Foran got the ball? That was the sound of 1000 elgin fans getting hard ons and wide ons because he is the most famous player they will ever see. ICT fans just have a different level of thinking about us. Elgin city, who cares? Celtic only won by two goals as well, and had no where near the amount of possession and shots that we had. The gulf in finances between Celtic and Berwick is a lot bigger than the gap between ourselves and Elgin.

  10. he has been holding his chest every now and then since mcculloch kicked him at ibrox, i don't think he's been at 100% since and i thought he should have been rested against elgin but i dont think we can afford to drop him if hayes is still out,. For this game duncan HAS to start, i prefer rossco to innes and duff in defence rather than centre mid: esson duff--rossco--munro--shinnie duncan--ross hayes (if fit)--sanchez--foran rooney subs: tuffey, innes, golly, mcbain, cox, sutherland and blumanshtein

  13. I really don't see the problem with the crowd numbers. When I went to watch a 3rd division team ie; Annan, play at TCS in a warm sunny summers afternoon 2009 in the league cup, the attendance was only around 900 with about 40 Annan fans. So getting around 3000, with 1500 Elgin fans, on a cold January, in a cup game, against a 3 division team, is an improvement as far as I can see. It is only a derby in the fact we are relatively close geographicaly, but I certainly have no feelings for Elgin as a rival football team of ICT.

  15. I've never said anything before but others have picked up on it. Why is every comment you make some sort of dig at the club, players or (supposedly fellow) fans? Im not sure whether your trying to get a rise out of people (for usually no real reason) or because you just dont really know all that much or maybe your just new to all this supporting thing. We are not a huge club. We can't include some of the facilities larger clubs have. All SPL teams generally have poor turn outs against lower league opposition and are often outsung by the swollen, exuberant, diddy team lot. It is noticable when fans don't turn up especially for a smaller top flight team like ourselves. But these days people pick and choose games, especially addition cup games as watching football is pretty expensive nowadays. So really why so negative? County fan?

  16. I think it's a little harsh and early to include Gil right now. He's had to come over and settle in and his injury will not have helped him. If he can stay fit and get into the team in the run in then his ability can be judged. If he doesn't stay fit then it will probably be considered a wasted signing but at least give him a chance to prove his worth. Anything you'll have seen will just be him feeling his way back as he's been out a bit so will probably be rusty. Besides he's this years exotic foreigner. We dont get too many so we better make the most of it!. Judge him at the end of the season though.

  17. As i remember foxy was quite a good player and was a shame he was let go and he was with club before spl i believe. As for alan morgan he was not the best and certainly a poor signing. Watt, gatuhessi and byrne nevr got a break in team to be seen as bad or not. McSwegan and zibi were awful signings. If i was to add to the list although a club legend the re-signing of golly was poor i would add blumenstien to this list also as simply doesn't cut it in spl. Tbh I thought the re-signing of Golly was a real turning point in our season last year. Until he came back we were stuck with Zadi at Left Back. I also think his performance up against Leigh Griffiths at Dens (2-2) was superb.

  20. ok im going to bite firstly :- i wasnt there because i had to work secondly :- i have an agreement with my wife that i get a season ticket and go to league games, outwith that it is an extra expense we cant afford thirdly :- weekends are pretty much the only time i get to see my kids as they are usually going to bed when i get back from work fourthly :- what gives you the right to come on here and lecture others about them being a disgrace for not attending a game? fifthly :- get a life and realise that there is a whole big wide world out there and many people are getting fed up of your constant fishing trips on here

  21. The show was a disgrace from start to finish. It was on for 80 minutes and featured 7 games, why then did we only see 3/4 of the games for about 2 mins each and have to endure the drivel of Pat Nevin and his 'expertise', do I care about a chance that Dundee Utd put wide and have to watch it four times during the highlights then another three during his rambling, no not really. BBC take a look at yourself, how can a company that produces MOTD so well, yes your English counterpart, produce such drivel, start taking a look at yourself. Each game could easily have been on for ten minutes each no matter who it was that was playing and the quality, each team have their fan base that want to see their team as much as others do so treat them fairly and equally. I also blame those that run our game, they give out the contracts to tv companies so are in the position to dictate what coverage is shown and for how long it is broadcast, take a look at it and sort it.

  22. Elgin fans showed us up,came in numbers, outsang us whole game, pathetic support Jealous of their support reminded me of a good old scottish cup game from back in the Highland League days, sadly our support doesnt provide days like that anymore

  23. Sorry but we are a club with a lot of families who attend game with younger children. It was a bitterly cold afternoon at home on a run of 3 losses in a row with are home form it was seen as quite possible for elgin beat us and as many travel from outside inverness the trip in didn't appeal. Elgin fans were there in numbers cause it was a massive game for them for us it was just a cup game v elgin city in the lowly 3rd divisions not appealing yes good value ?5 or ?10 however people are short on money these days and lets be honest was never going to be a classic.

  24. This might sound disrespectful, but all things considered, an SPL team should be beating any third Div team comfortably at home.

  26. now i dont want to annoy people because we have so many topics on this before but watching this video i can hear our fans. I know it was a relegation shoot-out but how is that noisy and yet every other game we cant even get a whimper. Surely there were people that sung that day for the team and it sounded great so why isnt it a more regualar occurance if we have problems like people wont move to create a proper singing section. just a theory. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sChovcdP0gA&feature=related

  27. Crowd of 2800,definitely more than 1400 Elgin, the away stand was near full, outnumbered at home in any competition is embarrassing,to be outnumbered by a team only 40miles away with a population of far less than us is disgraceful There has been rivalry between Inverness teams and Elgin for years,it appears that people only come out for the "big" teams now though ?10 for adults ?5 for kids yet a home support of 1000,amazes me no end

  28. Got wind of this at the end of last week but shrugged it off as it sounded like a total rehash of the rumours that were doing the rounds towards the end of last season.

  30. After that performance yesterday it was maybe a blessing that the BBC never showed too much of the low lights To scrape through literally against a mediocre third division/highland league outfit is highly embarrassing Its time Butcher & Malpas started to address the pathetic home form situation or home fans will stay away just like they chose to do yesterday dougal

  33. This is ridiculous. He should be commanding at least ?500k. If/when he moves on, it should be to a top end Championship team/lower end Prem team. Someone like Wigan, Blackburn or QPR would probably be willing to pay upwards of ?750k for him. Why should we accept such a paltry, insulting offer from some Russian nobodies? I'd rather let him go for nothing in the summer than accept such a pitiful amount for one of the hottest prospects in Scottish football. He'll go to Russia and be forgotten. It's bad enough these Russians even had the nerve to make an offer, let alone for such a disgracefully low sum. I was in a good mood today but I'm f***ing p***ed off now! :swear:

  34. ?500k for Rooney?! Come off it!
    -1 points
  35. 500k seems very reasonable to me... Niculae went for the same, but had international experience. And lets be honest, he didnt have that much of an impact on our squad. Good player to watch, but surprised he went for so much. Rooney on the other hand is yet to reach his peak, has scored in over 45% of his appearences, and would certainly be missed should he leave. Goodwillie is est at 1.5 million - I'd have rooney over goodwillie any day of the week. There's no doubt way more comparisons to make, but i certainly think 400-500k is the lowest we should be seeking. I would, however, prefer he stayed and outscored dennis, and beat rossco's appearences. THEN he really would be a true legend

  36. If he's going it had better be for more than peanuts minus Stokes share otherwise with the goals we'll miss out on he's as well going for nowt in the summer. Edit. I see stv are saying three clubs have now registered interest, two foreign and one Scottish . Get the price hiked right up please

  38. I am a season ticket holder in the North stand. At the Elgin game I decided to sit in the main stand. Never again, old codgers complaining about everything from the weather to the price of petrol. They constantly companied with little or no attention to the game. I know that going to a match and watching is supporting the team and often especially recently we have not had a lot in the games to cheer about, but a few chants to get behind the players is surely not too much to ask. It astonished me how even a few away fans can create more noise than the home support. What's the solution, Don't know, What's part of the problem, old Codgers that tut and look in disgust at those who make an effort to make some noise. I spent the second half in the North stand.
