If I was the club I would tell them to feck off. ICT have worked damn hard (and spent extra money) over the last few weeks to ensure they got games on and weren't adding to the fixture congestion, so for the SPL to turn around and pull something like this on them is bang out of order. Tough titty on Rangers if they are facing problems fitting games in, it was their inability to provide a usable stadium (game was cancelled due to burst pipes) that caused the problem so they should have to suffer the consequences, not us.4 points

Just heard the gaffer on Radio Scotland. He's berating the SPL - and quite rightly so. He expressed his dismay at the fact that fans have to travel down the A9 and I completely agree with him.3 points

Not just a good goal. He was our Captain and scored our first ever SPL goal. To mention his name in a thread about "worst" players in the SPL is ridiculous, disrespectful and ignorant.3 points

If we are only getting ?100,000 for him then we should keep him till the summer, if Stoke are taking a percentage of that then it is not worth it. We may as well keep Rooney and his goals can get us top 6 or higher and a decent cup run where we will make more off gate recipts, TV rights and prize money. I beg the club to see the bigger picture.2 points

Lot of dreamers expecting 500k lol, Rangers look to be lucky to get near that for Kenny Miller and he's got International experienece (not saying that makes him good btw) My personal view is that if we are getting 50-100k for him, minus the Stoke 40%, then its not worth letting him go. He may want to leave now, but has a legal contract so will have to stay to the summer, I'd keep him in the hope he scores a few goals and gets us a cup run and as high in the SPL and thus prize money as possible. Possibly between the 2 competitions we could get the 30-60k in prize money to cover what we would loose out on by not selling - plus it gives us til the summer to start scouting replacements. Wouldnt want to sell for a pittence, then struggle for goals over the next few months and drop away in the competitions. Doesnt matter if its Russia, Turkey, Englandshire or SPL we dont have to let him leave right now, he can sign his pre-contract and get on with playing.2 points

Not a bad attempt at all seeing as they have now made an official bid for him to play in Russia's top flight.2 points

Once again the SPL organise to suit the Glasgow mob.TB was quite right in saying two trips up and down the A9 in four days is out of order, when the same SPL were calling off games to suit those coming up our way due to so called bad weather. That is the same guys trying to barnstorm a new league setup1 point

The St Mirren game next week was postponed as they have a cup replay with Peterhead. SPL decision to reduce Rangers fixture backlog while they can.1 point

If Rangers have a backlog of games then why are they not playing one of those next week. Why should we be suffering by this and having our scheduled game brought forward.1 point

well said Terry. if fixture was in Inverness doubt if this would be happening. Cos it is at least twice as far from Glasgow to Inverness as it is from Inverness to Glasgow the way the central belters moan about it!1 point

Suppose it depends how big his wages will be and how much the six figure fee is. I think it will be a bad move all round, bad for Caley and bad for Rooney who will be going into obscurity. He will be fogotten, but money talks and agents like to move players on so they get their cut. He would be better off, staying put for a couple of seasons, playing first team football and then maybe get a move to the English premier league.1 point

the social club is excellent! cheap, food served, games from ESPN/sky sports shown, entry for non members on matchdays, bus to and from game. PERFECT!1 point

Its all to do with media rights ..... and ultimately 'money'. Audio For the SPL, each club possesses non-exclusive access to its own media and the BBC also has 'non-exclusive' rights to broadcast games in the UK. If the club have no objections, the BBC can broadcast commentary worldwide. However, if the club have their own service they can request the BBC to restrict coverage to UK IP addresses only and that is what happens with many teams (but not ICT). Anytime you get a game involving a club who has exercised their rights, the broadcast is restricted hence the little comment on many bbc pages that say uk only. For the cup, the rights are with the SFA and the BBC simply is not allowed to broadcast overseas as they paid only fo UK rights. TV None of the TV companies in Canada are interested in Scottish games .... It was on Fox Sports World (Canada) many years ago, then on Setanta from time to time in the last few years but when I asked Setanta about regular programming they simply said nope, we only really want OF. Other games may be shown as 'filler' but no regular scheduling. For normal TV - Sportsnet or The Score etc ... I know someone working there and basically, the same applies. there is no interest in Scottish football. Shame ... I can get English, Spanish, German, Italian, MLS, South American leagues all for free ... but no SPL !1 point

Thank the lord for Gaelic Radio. Whats the problem with broadcasting games overseas? All we get is English games - great propaganda for the so called best league.1 point

........can the constabulary and stewards not just f*ck off and leave us alone. This is bullying and harrassment of the lowest order. Does the match commander really think that 300 hardy souls have paid ?20, risked life and limb on Perth,s perilous pavements, and braved the elements to watch 90 minutes of hokum AND be continually pestered to sit down and shut up. Have you nothing better to do? Have you a single ounce of common sense? Do you have any sense of proportion? OR Are you just a bully? Why pick on a couple of young lads following their team;lads with a passion, motivation. Would you rather they were drinking on park benches or aimlessly smashing windows in your town centre...........no chance of ever seeing any police there! If your justification is crowd safety then why not issue your goons with some shovels and clear the bloody pavements around the stadium. You are pathetic. And what happens when the Old filth come calling? You bully boys are nowhere to be seen. You make me sick. Your victimisation of IHE was breathtaking. " The match commander is watching you on TV and says that the next time you are to stand up you will be ejected" Well......the next time, have the balls to show yourself and explain this face to face. You will find a passionate supporter who enjoys a bit of banter........a (usually) very reasonable guy. You sir, abuse your position; are not fit for purpose; are a disgrace to your profession. You have not got the slightest clue how to maintain public order......your actions on Sunday were more likely to provoke a rebellion than quell one. Or, is that what you wanted. Were you that bored with the game (most of us were) that you thought you would have a bit of fun; Sitting in your ivory tower like the Kommandant in Schindlers List selecting a victim for elimination. I know this is an on-going and possibly boring topic, and it is one on which I have never felt strong enough to comment. But , today is different. When watching the aforementioned film and reading accounts of similar situations I have always wondered why those "just following orders" did not rail round as one and tell the person issuing the order to "f*ck off. If you want it done....do it yourself". I would like to see that! Perhaps one day this will happen. Look what a shining light the match commander at Paisley was. What a great day out we had.....absolutely no hassle. Smiles on the faces of stewards and home and away fans. Look at that model and see how it works. As I said..........you Sir....are a disgrace!!!1 point

If that turns out to be true then IMO theres a hell of alot wrong with the team. I would agree with Clacher ..... If we are so one-dimensional that we can only perform with Jonny in the team then we are in trouble because that means others cannot or will not step up and start to perform without him and that attitude, if it exists, is BS. Equally worrying is that opposition sides will/already know that if we continue to perform this way, all they have to do to make us innefectual is to close him down. A few folk need to up their game to a level we know they can already perform at .... stop leaving it all to Jonny and start working harder. Ryan Esson is excluded from this rant as he is already working harder than we would like him to have to !!! Much like the forwards who have avoided criticism when the defence has played well, Hayes own performances shouldnt be exaggerated because he wasnt in the last 3 losing sides. He can produce the goods often enough to make him immune from this but his early season form has made him over confident and ball greedy when in positions to let others score. Not a single player in that side besides Esson is as good as they think they are, all of them need to work for each other to make up the shortfalls, thats what any team should be doing.1 point

Fishing he maybe, but he might have a point regarding the poor turnout from the home support. I noticed lots of ST holders in the main stand were awol. It was their loss - I thoroughly enjoyed this game - plenty of good performances - two good goals, lots of near misses, Elgin made a decent fist of it with what they had at their disposal, and nearly succeeded in taking it to a replay. Keeper Donnelly was superb. Even the half-time pies were good - hot and tasty, and there is no better omen in football than that! The stay-away fans were the losers yesterday.-1 points

This is ridiculous. He should be commanding at least ?500k. If/when he moves on, it should be to a top end Championship team/lower end Prem team. Someone like Wigan, Blackburn or QPR would probably be willing to pay upwards of ?750k for him. Why should we accept such a paltry, insulting offer from some Russian nobodies? I'd rather let him go for nothing in the summer than accept such a pitiful amount for one of the hottest prospects in Scottish football. He'll go to Russia and be forgotten. It's bad enough these Russians even had the nerve to make an offer, let alone for such a disgracefully low sum. I was in a good mood today but I'm f***ing p***ed off now! :swear:-1 points

Shane Sutherland is filling out nicely and he is not afraid to have a go, so bye bye Adam.-1 points

IGNORANT???? how does that become ignorant. if he was such a good player for us he would have been in the team, he would have survived after the injury and would have bounced back. i am not saying he was one of the worst but there have been plenty far better than him. and if you look back to my original comment you will see i was pointing out that this thread is about the spl not the first division-2 points
