  1. Jeez! were you at the game today??????? Rossco was immense, hardly put a foot wrong, so according to you he should be moved on? we will need his experience next season, his passion for Inverness CT has no equals.

  2. Tansey is top class at his best and frustrating on an off day but there's no denying his quality. He's young and the misplaced passes that he makes every so often are to be expected. But some of the balls he pulls off especially the wide diagonal he loves so much are defence shredding. over the next 2 years we will see him mature and these mistakes will be taken out of his game and we will have a quality player on our hands. He's been very impressive recently and earlier in the season he was them same next season will be his year. Hayes-the fact the Greg and ritchie both let him take the penalty unfortunately says to me he's leaving. A parting gift if you will, but I'm not giving up hope. Look at Hogg looked to further his career down south didn't work out and he re-signed for us. But if it is his last game hes leaving us with great memories, and the greatest of respect. He's given us so many great moments and goals. I don't think any of us will forget what he's done for us no matter where he goes. Both tansey and Hayes stood out for me today. Both were magnificent. Delighted to end this treturous season with a win. praying for a good pre season, some fresh faces but I agree with terry the majority of this squad is worth keeping they know what it's about and will be better next season.

  3. Well we finally stumble to the end of another season. Many have said it is the worst that they have experienced as a supporter and i wouldn't disagree. My attendances have been limited by various issues, but one was definately the product on the park. The lack of continuity and disjointed nature of the team did not sit well with the fans and no doubt was also difficult for those playing. Some of it was forced on the management but not all. The days when you knew the 11 and subs in your sleep are long gone. Only Rosscoe remains from that fabulous library of memories. Will the sap rise next August? Only time will tell. Highlight of the season for me ( in games that i actually attended) was Mr Hayes scoring a Maradona-esque goal having run round half of the Hibs team at Easter Road. Possibly the best goal that I have ever seen "live". Also being lucky enough to be in the vicinity of a poor chap who took really quite ill at Pittodrie and being able to lend a hand. Lizi I hope that all is well . I know deep down that things will never again be as they were. The pilot light is still on but my passion for Caley and football in general will never be re-ignited to its former glory. Sad.........but perhaps inevitable. So guys.............enjoy the break and I will see some of you on the terraces from time to time next year for sure. PS Have just put my name down for a puppy. Looks like he is going to be called Ross! It was going to be Rosscoe until a work colleague said...." Is that like....Ross County!!!"

  4. Assuming he has made a full recovery as seems to be the case, it would seem crazy to release him on the basis that he may have niggles in future. I heard the club also paid for his treatment which seems a strange thing to do only to release him a few months later when seemingly fully fit. Having been to most U19 home games this season its fair to say the form of the team improved dramatically with him in it. The results and performances during his time out injured were very poor and yet the improvement when he came back towards the end of the season was almost instant. Whether it was his potential for future injury or not, the worrying thing here is the bigger picture. We have sat through some dire performances all season, served up by over-rated loanees without a care for the club. We then release a home grown youngster with great pace, ability and potential who would at least get the crowd on their feet and show some passion. I for one would much rather see the likes of Chubbs given a chance than suffer another season of Knakpa's, Winnall's, Aldred's etc who come here as a last resort, show no desire to be here then bomb down the A9 at the first opportunity.

  5. Pretty dull and crap 1st half from both teams. We looked far better and had more confidence after Tansey scored a great free kick. Started looking more dangerous and won what looked to me to be a fair penalty which was well taken by Hayes. Decent second half overall and at least we ended this dire season on a happy note. Hayes/Tokes, please stay!

  6. When you say get behind OUR team. Who do you mean in your case? Yawwwn funny I keep getting asked this despite attending more home games than most on here including a number of mods It never fails to amaze me how many cyber fans this club has that rarely show up yet spout their nonsense and undying love of the club on here Like it or not I'm Nottingham Forest and ICT although I seriously am questioning the latter with some of the roasters on here Dougal I only missed 1 home game this season, do I pass the Dougal barometer of supporterdom? I wanted RC to be promoted and I hope they stay up along with us for seasons to come. Benefits us both financially and interms of support. People can dislike County if they want as much as they want, helps fuel the fire and makes things more interesting, I've lost could of the folk who've said that they can't wait for the ICT v RC games next season (from both sides of the bridge). You might be happy to go and watch RC play but I certainly would not and I would imagine 99.9% of ICT would feel the same. If I felt the need to take in some different footie I'd go to watch Inverness City or perhaps even a Clach game but I don't get thinking behind going to watch RC as an ICT supporter. The only time I will be going to Dingwall for a game will be to support ICT in a thorough thrashing of travelling people.

  7. Whatever Tokes decides to do is entirely fine by me. We owe him a hell of a lot including the right to chose his own future. All we can ask from the club is that the decision is his. He is certainly due this decency.

  8. Think tokes needs to stay, the club needs him now more than ever, even if he's not a regular he'd still be challenging for places, i can't imagine why he wouldn't start considering he was probably the only regular thing about our back 4 this season. 1 more year! 1 more year!

  9. I disagree. What ICT did with the stadium was just a "sale and leaseback" arrangement which is pretty common in sport and business in general. We sold our only real asset to avoid getting into administration. Nobody seems to have asked Rangers why they didn't do the same to avoid this mess. They could have got tens of millions by selling Ibrox to a property/investment business and then renting it back, having wiped out their debts with the proceeds. Instead they chose to shaft the creditors and will somehow come out of this with their main asset intact.

  10. Thought I'd revive this old thread and show the progress that was made with our defending. In our first 14 games, at the time the thread was started, we conceded an average of 2.0 goals per game. In the next 24 games we only conceded 1.33 on average, helped by ending the season with 3 consecutive clean sheets. But what exactly brought about the dramatic improvement? Our overall season average of 1.58 is still higher than the team relegated in each of the 3 previous seasons. Unsurprisingly this year's relegated team Dunfermline have the season's worst defensive record with an average of 2.16 conceded. That's Gretna-esque! Many thanks again to Chris Smith for his enormous contribution to ICT's season.

  13. Baffled as to how anyone can find fault with the club on this one. They've told Tokely they want him to stay, the ball's in his court and he hasn't made his mind up yet. Why should the club be commemorating his departure today?

  15. Surely - if this was going to be Rosscoe's final appearance - it should have been well publicised as, if it is true, it is a major milestone in the history of the club that should have been recognised. If this was suspected beforehand and not acted on it is simply a disgrace. Lets hope there is a plan for a pre season game to honour the legend if not. It is miscommunications like this that are dragging the club down.

  16. The management of Inverness Caledonian Thistle F C have character. Those at Rangers did not. Slippery, sleazy, money grubbing, shifty, conscienceless opportunitists. But wait, how many of them were there, anyway? One two --or more.? As for Terry--he didn't say too much that was not close to the truth. Their demise will have a large financial impact on the SPL but teams have survived in the past and will continue to do so. But maybe one thought that was flowing through his mind was that after his Caley Thistle career is ended, a job at Rangers might have been an option. Can't really blame him for that but a wiser man would have probably remained silent at this stage of developments.Playing devil's advocate with the majority verdict of the fans that morality in management trumps financial accumulation is a dangerous path to follow. It's not Rangers that keeps ICT in operation it is the fan base, at least as I see it. After Rangers languish in the lower divisions for a few seasons, all fans will realise that they are not needed unlike the presence of the fans at matches in support of their own club which is vital to the ongoing health of the club. Spending more money than they have in income leads to only one thing , red lights and disaster. When will staying in the SPL be the goal instead of just finding their own level and doing their best in that environment. After you have prudently buit up your financial resources, then maybe that's the rime to expand gradually. That's the difference.

  17. I stayed behind at the end for the players lap of honour and Tokely's face looked to me like he saying that that was it. I hope it isn't though - he's one of the clubs best players!

  20. ICT did not have a trail of debt throughout the country. It did not leave others high and dry. It took prudent fiscal action to ensure its future before it became a fire sale. An entirely different process to the debacle that is now being played out at Ibrox. Don't you think if that if the situations were really comparable that Rangers would have taken the same measures used by ICT to correct their situation? It isn't rocket science is it?

  21. Ross made his debut in Scottish cup 1-3 defeat to Hamilton on 25th january 1997. He came on in 82nd minute to replace Ian Stewart. This game would have been played at TCS i'd imagine since we had moved to there in november 96. He probably played in pre-season games at Telford Street.

  22. I think its time for Ross to call it a day with ICT. Id rather see him got out on a relative high. Move him on, free up a wage, bring in some fresh blood with the future in mind. His best days are behind him, and we cant afford to be nostalgic and carry passengers. Every place in the squad is precious

  27. And of course, by the renegade way of thinking, that statement is based on a Fraser of four years ago in a relegation season. No chance that the guy could have improved a lot since he left us. Lets look at Tuffeys record though. This season played 9, defeats 5, draws, 2, wins 2. Shutouts 1, goals against 11. Rene, I think you are being blinded by Tuffey's reasonable record at Partick Essons records no better he went half the season without a clean sheet is that his fault? Is he worse than Fraser because of that? No and why? Because of his record from our promotion season and last season. Goalkeepers records mean nothing. To judge a keeper you have to actually watch them not their statistics.

  28. I've never seem a player adapt so well. He was thrown in at the deep end against scott vernon and josh magennis the day after he signed because tokes was suspended and he had a torrid time. But if I remember correctly he went on to have a much improved second half, and against killmarnock the next week he had a stormer. He had a few mishaps usually against Dundee utd but he's always bounced back and since January he's been superb. Well deserved from the most stylish centre half in the world. A talented player no doubt he's only going to improve. I really hope we can resign him. Well deserved

  29. That's the way I see it. David Murray didn't want to put Rangers in admin, so he handed the keys to Whyte to do it who also pocketed millions from unpaid tax by putting them into Admin but doesn't want to be the man to liquidate them and then Green is Whyte's fall guy and makes a fast buck by selling all the assets and then Bye Bye Rangers. I find it ironic that It's Green and Whyte - I'll get my coat

  30. Maybe with Craig Whyte agreeing to sell his shares to this English group (alledgedly) the end game is maybe just maybe beginning? Personally wish Terry had kept his thoughts to himself.

  31. We survived for long enough (and were competitive) in the lower leagues....in fact I think we turned a profit more often in the lower leagues than we ever have in the SPL....proof positive that a reduced income is not the end of the world. If every club finds itself in the same position then the whole league needs to adapt to survive and I think we are more capable of doing that than many others. Ok, so standards may drop for a while until the league re-found its level, but such are the demands of business. I'd rather be a poor team competing in an honest, fair and competitive league than a poor team begging for scraps from the table of the OF.

  32. Dunno about County Air but they were doing cruise packages for some of their away games. This was taken at Greenock docks - must have been playing Morton that day.
