  1. Legend. Always was and always will be.

  2. If he plays just give him a few verses of 'one Ross Tokely' at the start and he'll be so confused he'll hit the net instead of the bar this time.

  5. I look forward to seeing this thread implode tomorrow evening after Tokely is booed again! ;)

  6. Ross is an ICT legend and I personally find it very disappointing that people chose to boo him at the earlier league game. The offer from the club was quite frankly insulting and gave him no option but to seek pastures new. I would hope that he will br treated with a bit of respect tomorrow, same goes for Granty. There are plenty of other guys on the park and dug-out more worthy of abuse.

  7. Tomorrow's BBC Sport headline : "Caley fans compare Tokely to Giggs"

  8. Would like to point out and give a thumbs up to how well behaved the stewards were as well. Here are a few quotes from the men in Hi-Viz from Tuesday night. "If you are looking to stand then please stay in the back 6 rows." "Enjoy the football and your evening." "Keep up the singing lads, I've got Caley on my coupon!" "Safe journey home." Excellent stuff, and helped make it a more enjoyable experience.

  11. I can hear it now....some ICT fans will boo Tokely, then other ICT fans will boo the fans that are booing, then RC fans will boo the ICT fans cos they think we're all booing Tokely,..... repeat until final whistle !

  12. Tokely will always be an ICT legend, before and after the match. However for the 90mins when he plays for our local rivals against us then he's fair game for booing imho! Mostly it's just banter and I'm sure Ross accepts that? If it winds him up then great that's an advantage to ICT ! What disappoints me most is his comment above - "I think the majority of Caley fans are great but it was just the booing that disappointed me. I was not being disrespectful to the fans." ........"Caley" fans !!!!!! Never have I been so disrespected !!!

  14. Listen up here. Ross Tokely is a professional. He will play to 100% for any team that pays his wages. He knew that he wasn't going to get another season at ICT except as a squad player, then saw an opportunity to get another pay day and squeeze another season out of the dregs of his career without uprooting or dropping (arguable ) standards. Of course he couldn't do that wihout blaming ICT because he knew damn well how it would be recieved, like your wife going off to shack up with the next door neighbour (for those of you that insist on romanticising the issue) What do you expect. - to be welcomed back with open arms? I am completely indifferent to Ross Tokely.

  15. Just watched the highlights on the BBC site, was surprised that they didn't show the clash with Antonio - a real last-ditch tackle that could have changed the result and the way the game was going. Also, very little noise from our fans but I seem to recall we were quite lively for much of the match. Selective sound editing?

  17. I received the information below in an email from Charles Bannerman a few minutes ago and was asked to post it here for public consumption as both he and Rosscoe are aware of this forum thread regarding the BBC article, and the content of the article actually came from an interview CB did with Ross. Ross has asked me to post this - which I am in a good position to do since I did the radio interview with him from which the quotes for the BBC online copy were taken, although I was not involved at all in the writing of the copy linked to in the OP. That online item makes it quite clear that it was the fact that he was booed at the Caledonian Stadium on October 5th that upset Ross and nothing he said in the quoted passages nor indeed at any point in my 4 minute interview could possible be construed as critical of or disrespectful to ICT fans. It is the action of booing which upset him, but he he in no way criticised ICT fans, either collectively or individually. Ross has just told me: "I think the majority of Caley fans are great but it was just the booing that disappointed me. I was not being disrespectful to the fans." I can confirm that without qualification. This also is entirely consistent with what he said in this morning's interview and what is reported in the article. Ross did this afternoon take issue with the original headline because he was concerned that some swipe on his part at ICT fans might be inferred which was not intended. That headline was changed around 4:30 - as it happens shortly after the original post was made here. As a result the link to what appears on the BBC website is now inconsistent with the title of the thread. Perhaps the Mods could make the relevant change because the title, although quoting something which was present for quite a short time, is now very misleading. As a result of this email, and the change in the headline of the actual article on the BBC website to something more accurate, I will update the thread title accordingly. As I said in my own post earlier in this thread, it seems like it was nothing more than some online journalist down the road taking things out of context and sensationalising what is basically a throwaway comment ......

  20. Welcomed back? For goodness sake he plays for our rivals now. He is for all accounts and purposes the enemy now.

  21. Just looking at the actual article itself, I'm with Ross Tokely on this one. A club he has been with pretty much his whole career and a legend with the fans, you would think he would be welcomed back. I didn't realise that he was booed at the game as I wasn't at the game, but this is very disappointing. I know he's playing for the county but even so, we should be respect him for his fantastic 16 years at Caley rather than booing him. The hundreds of games he has played in a Caley shirt for the cause. If Iain Stewart were up front and Jim Calder was in goals for Ross County would you be booing them?? I don't think so.

  22. What I find a Disgrace is that Rossco turned his back on us yet we're the ones who get the branding for booing. Now, I wasn't at that derby match, nor will I be at this one. The intention to Boo someone who, as many have said, gave his career to ICT, has never crossed my mind. It rarely does. (I actually hated hearing people boo Hayes on tuesday too). But it is my understanding that Rossco had an offer on the table and he refused it. He wanted more, like a spoilt little child, and because daddy butcher said no he spat his dummy out and ran away to Uncle Roy. I get peoples point that he is perhaps trying too hard to fit in over the bridge, but is targetting those fans that supported him all those years the way about it? 16/17 years of supporting a man to be branded a disgrace by him after less than 6 months? Perhaps a little lack of respect in both directions here?

  23. My missus got flights/hospitality etc for Man Utd through her work last night, where she met Sammy McIlroy. She had no clue who he was, but had mentioned that her boyfriend was an ICT fan. Straight away he knew that ICT were on a great run and had beaten the dons the other night with Billy McKay scoring a double. He had a lot of good things to say about him.

  24. Ehh? The reason people sang his praises was because he was good at playing football and did it for a long time with our team. He did that because he got paid well to do so. He no longer plays for us as he wasn't going to be paid so well, so chose to do the same thing for our biggest rivals instead. I thought the booing was pretty mild really anyway. He is trying everything he can to beat us now so what did he expect? We are ICT fans not Ross Tokely fans.

  25. We are joint top of the league, for the next 24 hours, with 25 points and having scored 31 goals. We have never been in such a position in our history of SPL. We need you to get your butts of your couch and get out there and support us. This club has done wonders since its inception. Put your petty differences aside and support the 'Pride of the Highlands'.

  26. One of the Dons fans who is a pupil at the school i teach at took great delight in recounting his tale of antagonising (ahem) a thousand ICT fans at the fence last night. This story worked its way to me through his pals and I was quick to point out the many flaws in his tale, in addition to adding the part where he slumped off as we went 3-2 up. Today has been most enjoyable in Aberdeen and continues to be so; as I type this message whilst wearing an ICT top in the gym that's 2 mins walk from Pittodrie. Lots of Dons and Celtic fans here today by the looks of things!

  28. Apparently demand is so high that the Ross County admin staff were finding it difficult to get through it all However, they called in help from Elgin City's ticket office and all 12,000 tickets have now been sold.
