  1. I just posted the comment below in the "tartan talk" thread on the Toronto FC board I post on ..... myself, luvgravy, and a few supporters of other Scottish teams spar with each other on that thread, and the rest of the non-affiliated TFC fans make the odd comment too .... So when trying to summarise it for a Canadian audience, most of whom have no interest in Scottish football, you realise just what an achievement this season is so far, and how impressive Billy's exploits are !!! Here is what I wrote:

  3. Easily my MOTM today. What a player he's turning out to be this season. Hopefully he's over his injury problems, because he really has been a commanding figure in the middle for us. Always looks really composed on the ball, seems to make himself time to look up and normally pick the right pass, and is pretty formidable in the tackle. And a cracking shot on him too. As deserved are the plaudits for Shinnie and McKays, keeping hold of OTJ must be a major priority.

  4. I have used the "punching above our weight" cliche a few times over the years, but this time I disagree. We are not punching above our weight, we are 2nd on merit and thats down to the team themselves and whatever and however Terry and Maurice are motivating them ....... and of course Billy McKay scoring when he wants to !

  5. We are not in a false position imo, we are where we deserve to be due to excellent performances and resilience. Just like we will be where we deserve to be at the end of the season wherever that may be. Not having self belief is something that will only hold back a smaller club.

  6. Well done guys, another superb result and another entertaining mattch too. This was such an open game that I felt nervous right up until the fourth goal because both teams were throwing so many players forward. Our centre backs did look a little exposed on a few occasions. But their defence - the excellent Rab Douglas aside - is just hideous and our forwards carved them open multiple times. Another terrific performance from McKay leading the line, and Andy Shinnie was just about unplayable in the second half. You wouldn't know we were 4-1 up if you'd looked at our dugout, where the boss appeared to have come down with an acute case of Tourette's in the second half! As far as I could tell, the standside linesman, Graeme Shinnie and Richie Foran bore the brunt of his ire... And isn't it nice that Colin Nish didn't score against us for a change? We are second in the SPL at Christmas. Bloody hell.

  7. It's OK, as I said earlier we're comfortable talking about it. As the big team in the Highlands we can take it.

  9. Not sure how you deduce that we, or any other team, are punching above our weights any more. We were when we came into the league back in 04 and probably up until our relegation season. Since coming back two seasons ago I think we have matched every other team bar the twins. This season we have a team who can outplay and outperform any other in the league (barring the Steelers) so we are far from punching above our weight. We are on a par with them all. I can, however, understand how that would p1ss you off though Smee. Being the eternal pessimist you are it must be galling not to have so many opportunities to make negative comments. We are 19 games into the season with 19 to go. 20 points clear of the bottom. 5 points off the top. Possibility of European football. Still in the two cups with a chance of at least one final. In a position where our team can actually enjoy their game more and therefore produce results. A position where the fans are so elated that they can accept that the odd defeat will happen but that we will still be strong and all you can do is try and pour water on the fire. You need to get a life mun. Your such a pr1ck Alex and full of sh1t at times. If i am the eternal pessimist......please supply me with 10 negative comments i have made this year. Bare in mind i say negative....not to be confused with being a realist and being grounded.Should prove easy if im so negative! If we are not punching above our weight right now...why have we never reguarly featured in the top 6 most seasons? Lets rewind to this time last season and how dire things were. But cause ICT are having a good run.....many are pasting their pants over it. Not meaning to p1ss on anyones firework, but in answer to the OP question, Id say were are in a false position. We have been punching well above our weight so far this season. Im a realist, and come the end of the season, i think we will be doing brilliant to be battling to be in the top half of the league. 10. Though otj and andy shinnie were absolutely fantastic today. Otj didn't misplace a pass all day. Never lost possession, and the finish for the second goal was fantastic. I thought that was the best Andy shinnie performance since we beat county 3-1, drove at the dundee defense, played the right ball most the time and kept trying to get that elusive goal, never giving up. And he was rewarded with his 10th of the season.

  11. Due to working in the Middle East today was the first game I have got to all season. Banter in the North stand was good. Billy Mackay looked lively in the warm up and just got hotter. Couldn't tell from my position whether penalty was right or not, but definitely well put away. Dundee equaliser was well taken sneaking in at the far post possibly off the fingertips of Reguero. Nicely taken second from OTJ. I looked towards the ref as the pile of bodies grew thinking a second penalty was coming as the ball came out of the bodies into the net. Well taken fourth from Andy Shinnie. Nice to see the effort and passing play combined with the speed out of defence and onto the attack.

  12. Owen will surely get another chance in the Welsh team with current performances. We are very privileged to see the class of our players this season.

  13. Great result today, performance so so. We are unbelievable as an attacking force but still dodgy at the back and especially near the end a bit slack in our play. But this is tremendous, would have never believed we would be 2nd at Christmas, an amazing achievement. :ictscarf:

  14. Yep I was meaning OTJ was great, but there were poor performances from others. It's been really difficult to think of 3 players for the player votes... OTJ, Warren and Raven were brilliant. Despite scoring two goals and making some great runs, McKay struggled to get in the game. Both Shinnie's had some fantastic moments, but also some awful ones. Doran, Draper and Foran didn't do anything really wrong but didn't damage Dundee as much as they can Just my thoughts. I'd rather win 4-1 with a performance not as good as we can play than lose but play well.

  17. Crackin performance. Both teams started brightly but when Owain regained the lead for us with another rasper it really seemed to deflate them. Thought it was a penalty straight away, seemed needless as Foran was running away from goal and big Rab would have been dissapointed as he had made a brilliant save just seconds before. Rather than conceding after half time we doubled the advantage, was credited to Billy but no idea who actually scored but we had that 2 goal cushion and it seemed to ease any tension of us slipping up again. Dundee offered very little in the 2nd half and we seemed to grow in confidence with every attack. Shinnie's goal was a belter. Ghosted between two defenders before hammering it past Rab, cracking goal and typified his afternoon, he was top class. Couldve scored more but 8 goals in 2 games is terrific and we go into Christmas in 2nd place...who would have thought that? Billy only got 2 today though, 4 was the expectation...time he was benched

  18. I'm pretty sure Ross is saying OTJ was flawless but that others were poor. I certainly agree that OTJ was magnificent, some of his balls in behind the Dundee full backs were wonderful, but I don't agree that there were a lot of poor performers today. Sure some of the players may not have hit the heights of others on the day but they were all good enough for me.
