  1. County fans think ICTFC from the moment they wake up until they go to sheep

Terry if you are reading these posts just stay will you please. You owe it to yourself to see this through till the end of the season at least and you can reevaluate then. You might actually have some silverware and be in Europe as well which I can guarantee hibs will not give you this season at least. Honour your contract at the very least like you said you would please. And if its all going well sign a new one so that we can conquer Europe as well.

The only way he will stay will be if there are factors outwith his control that prevent him going. After the Barnsley fiasco there is no way he would be talking to Hibs if he was not serious about wanting away to a bigger club. The Barnsley fiasco was unsettling for the club and despite all the happy clappy, pats on the back stuff about his decision to stay, his actions demonstrated that actually he wanted away and the form of the team took a significant slump soon afterwards. If he cared for this club and actually wanted to stay he would not risk that again. Having then pledged that he was committed to seeing his contract out, he has now broken his word. The message this gives to the players is that he does not believe they are capable of winning silverware or getting into Europe this year. If he really believed in the team then surely he would stay on and enjoy the experience and kudos that success would bring. Let's face it, Butcher has never won anything as a manager and he's not going to win anything at Hibs. He is destroying his own chances of success as well sabotaging the club's chance of success that he has been instrumental in creating. Any credibility that he had belief in and loyalty towards the team has been shot to pieces. Whether he goes or stays, the damage has been done. Best for the club that a compensation package is thrashed out as soon as possible and we can get on and appoint a manager who actually does believe in the squad and can restore their faith in themselves. We then just might go on and achieve the success that this season has been promising.

Terry is killing his chances of salvaging anything at either end the longer he keeps this up. Im at the point now where I almost dont want him back (I know that sounds bitter) but Hibs are a rival club with the same aims and aspirations as ourselves in a league where there is never much distance between teams. If this was an English club it would be a different story. Different league, different mindset, different country. Deep down I just dont think his heart is in it anymore. I cant imagine what the week has been like for the players and the backroom staff. My only hope is Hibs are peddling out the same tripe theyve been displaying for weeks and we take them apart. The players will need the full backing of the fans, especially on Saturday. I imagine its been a difficult week for each and every one of us. If he does leave I will be gutted, I will be gutted to see a man depart at a crucial time in the season, after having worked tirelessly for the last 5 years in building this club into a real force. I will be gutted to see him head to a club where he will ultimately throw it all away chasing the same ghosts that Fenlon, Calderwood, Hughes and Paatelainen have been chasing. But what I will be gutted about most is we will never see how far Terry could have taken us. We still sit high in the league and we still have a cup semi final in February to get through. If Marsella and Malpas follow then we will have to re jig our entire way of doing business. A formula which has served us well. Especially in the last 2 seasons, the thought of that dosent bare thinking about. If he does stay Im not convinced he will have the same authority or respect from the fans though time would tell on that one. Things could go on like nothing happened. On the flip side if he does depart. Our high league position and cup status makes a really attractive outlet for any manager. I would expect a massive flurry of applications. While it will be frustrating it could also be a really exciting time for us as fans. At the moment all we can really do is put this hellish week behind us and get right behind the team that is put out against Easter Road on Saturday...regardless of whoevers in charge. Eddie Thompson said fans are the only constant in football. I think that statement means more now than it ever did. The ICT ride will continue! Lets do our bit to keep it going.

This whole palaver is boring me to tears. I have a great deal of respect for Terry but he's making a right pigs ear of this situation. He and his advisors should have had the deal done before the whole thing became public. Dragging this out all week with us heading to Easter Road on Saturday is far from cool. Time to bring this to a conclusion and move on.

I am reliably informed that the Sky Sports article is not much better.

Is the Sky Sports article any better?...

hi Heelanders, I come in peace. Hibernian man, ST holder at E'Road , and I would be happy to see Butcher as our new man, but the cheap journalism from the BBC is bloody disgusting these days.that little dick young has a lot to answer for! hope this situation is sorted before the game this weekend. the performances we've put on in Inversneckie have been abysmal over the years, but the squad we have at the moment are a good manager away from being a guid team. I don't fancy a Hibs victory against you, possibly a draw. we've lost to M'well 1 nil twice, we should have murdered that gorgie mob twice but did not, we were good against Celtic, stole the points at Partick but as said, a guid manager can change this, easily with a bit of tweeking.

As frustrating as it is to not know the final decision - one way or the other - I can understand why it is taking a while. TB has to weigh up all the options and that involves not just him but also MM and SM potentially. If Hibs have agreed to offer all 3 a contract then there is 3 sets of compo to discuss if he accepts, if they dont want all 3 then TB has to consider whether going it alone is worth it (like Sydney !) and ultimately after weighing all that up or not he has to get the answer from his missus !!! we need to be patient .... and on the plus side, he is not gone (yet!)

Not quite accurate. ICT were only approached for permission to speak to him on Tuesday afternoon. He would have only got full details of what was on offer yesterday. Not unreasonable for him to take a day or two to decide his future.
  13. Aye, okay then SFA you bunch of clowns.

Have to put my hands up here. I never believed it would ever get this far. I firmly believed Terry is a man of his word but how the doubts are creeping in now. Why should he suddenly become disloyal to our club? Surely there must be something going on in the higher echelons that we are completely oblivious of for this to be happening. A crucial game looming and he is building up tension in his players, a side that he was proudly building up and lauding to the media. I just do not understand how this can come about so suddenly. Hibs for goodness sake...........They may be a 'richer ' club, can offer him a bigger budget and fill his wallet up a bit but that is nothing to what he could achieve by staying with ICT. Come on T B get to that training ground tomorrow apologise to your players dig deep and find your loyalty and commitment again and ensure that all Hibs get is a five nil thrashing. Thanks for all the answers to the conundrum the answer is.................... he is having a mid -life crisis

Somehow the word 'roaster' is coming to mind and Darren Brown is not in the room.... ;-)

Talk on Hibs.net that some Sky Sports article isn't much better, can anyone confirm?

Don't worry about it, its not much better.

If Prince Charles becomes manager will he want Camilla as assistant?
  20. 1 point
Well maybe Craig Levein will do this for you?
  21. 1 point
You're only saying that so he'll buy you a drink from his winnings. I just hope the bookie can remember if it was £50 or £100.
  22. 1 point
Maybe TB should put out a press release that he will go with whichever club wins on Saturday....that would ramp up the pressure a bit!

This is all very interesting! I'd be delighted if my £100 bet on Terry leaving was lost. Mind you - I'd think about taking the BBC to court to recoup my losses for reporting Butcher had agreed terms as a 'fact' - when in reality it was something that was obviously just pure sensationalist conjecture! Actually, I wouldn't bother with the BBC as I'd be too busy opening red wine to celebrate...paid for on my credit card obviously!

Steve Marsella refuses to go because nobody on hibs.net uses his name.

It's quite amusing that we look to the Hibs forums for any snippets of information, while the Hibs fans appear to be constantly referencing things they've read on this forum!

Horlicks? Surely it must be horflicks since this movie is a nightmare.
  27. Surely we should be looking for a Mr Baker or Candlestickmaker, no?

A red, white and blue flag? I'm surprised someone didn't grab it off you and storm off in a rage. It could have offended someone.

Hello Gents, I'm just writing in to say that I hope big Tel stays with you guys, although it's looking unlikely unfortunately. Forgive me as I'm actually a Rangers fan, but since we've been 'missing' from the SPL the last wee while I've been cheering your team on due to my obvious connections with Mr Butcher. Anyway, I hope he stays, he's worked wonders for your club and they're playing some of the best footy in Scotland right now. I myself don't want him to go to the Hibees and I hope he stays up in Inverness. Good luck for the future and I'll have a dram with you when we're back up playing you in a season and a half's time hopefully. All the best.
  30. In all seriousness, what about Pat Fenlon. His stock was high before taking the Hibs job. From his experience in Ireland, he is used to gaining success on a limited budget that success including, in relative terms, success in Europe. I don't think his tenure at Hibs was all that bad. He inherited a team that had been underperforming for years with an ethos of enduring defeat and failure yet led them to successive Cup finals. and, although this season started off with the Malmo debacle there's no doubt that Hibs were making some progress and are a better side, even without the services of Leigh Griffiths, than they were last season or the season before.
