  1. Is there not another thread with about 10,000 pages about this?
  2. Really don't know what to make of that. After sitting through the Celtic game, which was a performance of quite unparalleled toothlessness, and the United game, where a promising first 20 minutes degenerated into aimless possession in our own half that invited pressure onto us, the first half tonight made it look like we were doomed to play like that forever. God knows who said what at half time, but the second half was a transformation. Consistent pressure in the Motherwell half, much more direct play (which is not necessarily a euphemism for long ball) and far more pace and effective off-the-ball movement about the side. Graeme Shinnie was at the heart of everything, and it looked like it just needed one player who was willing to take it on and the rest would follow. We were extremely unlucky not to take something out of the game. There's been a couple of false dawns in the past few months, but that second half was the most sustained period of dangerous attacking football we have played since Hughes took over, and if he can somehow keep the team playing like that from now on, and cut out the long periods of aimless possession in our own half that inevitably end up with the ball either going back to, or past, Brill, then I'll feel much more confident about next season. One thing tonight certainly suggested is that Shinnie must play in midfield from now on. Tremarco and Raven are very effective full backs, and we benefit far more from Shinnie's engine and drive in midfield. My last game of the season tonight, but hopefully the team can take it on from that second half and consolidate 5th place on Saturday; while Terry and Mo slither into the play-offs.
  3. Hughes neither scored an own goal, nor gave away a penalty and by all accounts our second half display was tremendous. Your dispaly on the other hand (and this is NOT personal abuse) is becoming increasingly tiresome. Please give at least some rationale behind what you contend rather than simply rant.
  4. Can I be the bounder?
  5. Im buying The Winchester, looking to hire a hot bar maid and bounder...applicants welcome
  6. 4 for Partick tonight. 30 mins ago they were 11th and now they are 7th. 37 games from the start of the season - crazy but great.
  7. Shinnies scores to make it 2-1
  8. Barcelona like to go 2 nil down through a penalty and an OG in the first half as that's how the game should be played.
  9. We are fast becoming a joke. Sort this out ffs.
  10. I think that was Wilson Robertson. ;-)

Having a good laugh at County winning - must be a first!

That would be expecting the SPFL to be logical, fair and reasonable. So, probably not.
  13. I thought it started on Dec 7th last year.
  14. With all the free drums being offered we will need a band for next season!

I'll never forget Hislop's fantastic bullet header against Clyde. It was advantage us after this result and I think we were all confident that we would win the final game but there were a few nervy moments such as Clyde going into the lead before our game kicked off and SJ drawing level. As soon as Ritchie got the 3rd we all knew that was it. A great day which has to be up there with all the great moments that we've experienced in ICT's short history.
  16. Why are folk still randomly guessing? It's over! Renegade won! He correctly stated that Davide Xausa scored Inverness's 500th ever goal. That's it!! Jeez, what have I started...?
  17. Just heard that Neil Findlay of Inverness tyres has arranged to hand over a drum to replace the nicked one, its getting re skinned as we speak at The music shop to be handed over in due course!!!!!!
  18. I think it's Manchester United. Doing well then manager goes, wrong man given job, results nose dive, fans divide.

Whenever the subject of Nick Ross comes up people always seem to say he's too small, lightweight, needs to bulk up etc..this is a load of nonsense. Yes he is small in frame and can at times be pushed off the ball but bulking up will not change that. What he needs is someone i.e coaching staff to teach him how to use his body to protect the ball and make the most of the frame he has. Technically he is one of the best players we have at the club adding to much muscle mass quickly over a pre season say could be detrimental to the attributes he already has. If John Hughes is determined to play the "barcelona" way surely having one of the best passers in our team on the bench or getting 30 seconds at the end shows how inept he really is.

YES, AND I AM GLAD THAT YOU REMINDED US OF THAT PARTICULAR FANTASTIC GQAL AND CONTROL 0F THE BALL IN A VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION. Essentially that goal put us into the final and a load of money into the club coffers. .

Whereas I don't see it as an issue that he was brought on at the end. a) Christie gets a round of applause, b) Ross gets an appearance fee no doubt. It'll probably cheer him up. It is surprising he's not getting more game time. He is one of the best passers in the team and capable of things others are not. He has talent, of that there is no doubt. He is however soft, and can be inconsistent. Next season, for me, might be make of break for him. He needs to, over the summer spend a bit of time in the gym and try and bulk up for pre season. He's got the build of someone who will never get fat but with the right diet he can add upper body strength. Chicken and fish for dinner! He has to earn that game time in training though.

My query was I wonder what has happened nick ross and Hughes, he is not that bad a player, not a moan.

To me it showed disrespect to NIck Ross ,don't suppose Nick was to chuffed either. But this is life under John Hughes a threadbare squad and players being released without replacements brought in see Greenhalgh scored again

Nick Ross deserves better than 2 minutes of injury time -to me that was an insult to the lad . Hughes really thinks he is something of a tactical genius but to me the sooner he does one the better, second half was appalling.
  25. Was staying at Fairways and rushed back to get last orders - barman served me and said "how was the bowling Johndo" - I replied "how do you know I've been bowling ." He leant over the bar and pointed to my feet - still had the feckin bowling shoes on.
