  1. Well well. From Tesco cakes to M&S cakes to no cakes at all....

  2. I have no doubt that given time TB might have managed to spark Hibs back into life ... but therein lies his first and potentially biggest mistake. Did his ego make him think that he would be the first Hibs manager in recent history that would actually be given any time? He has a record of being piss poor to begin with at most clubs, but when given time (eg 'Well and ICT), and allowed to assemble his own squad, then he has proved he can turn things around or at least have them heading in the right direction. I have said it before, and will say it again ... I thank TB for what he achieved at ICT, for the players he brought in, and the raised profile he afforded us. It is appreciated and will be looked on fondly .... but, he chose to turn around and bite the hand that fed him, and would have fed him for life had he wanted it, and for the utterly disrespectful manner in which he did so I can offer no sympathy for him whatsoever. He got what was coming to him plain and simple !

  6. I get the feeling that she gave TB every opportunity to convince her that he was the man with the ability and the vision to lead Hibs straight back up and he singularly failed to do so hence she made the reasonable and consiered decision to dispense with him and recruit someone who, in her view is the right person. Some of the criticism of her not having any football or coaching experience, in my view, smacks of sexism. Football club CEOs generally don't have that personal skill set. what the good ones do have is the ability to identify and recruit those who do and she seems to have proved herself adept at that in her previous post at Fir Park.

  7. Just read her interview on the BBC website. Seemed to be talking sense to me? Appears to be aware that they need to choose the right man who is capable of managing a club like Hibs. No mention of her football knowledge or lack of at all?

  8. Crazy decision by Hibs. I have mixed emotions. On the one hand, serves him right for walking out on us. There's always going to be some bitterness when someone decides they can do better and 'dumps' you. On the other hand, I'm appreciative of and grateful for the fantastic job he did for us. It wasn't unreasonable for him to have a crack at a bigger club. He'd earned it. Hibs are a sleeping giant. (20,000 seater stadium, £5,000,000 training complex, Capital of Scotland). They've been rotten for years, and have a squad full of overpaid, overblown Championship / League 2 level players. Butcher isn't to blame for this. He has a proven track record of building good teams from scratch on a shoestring budget, as he proved year after year for us. It's an absolute joke that they've sacked him before he's had a chance to bring in his own players.

  11. You have to feel a bit sorry for Hibs - no team, no manager, no budget - a CEO who's been in the job 5 minutes, a Chairman who's the toast of Edinburgh, and an army of angry fans..... Maybe they should merge with Hearts......

  18. Don't think its a case of 'can't' have #13, its not banned or anything, think its a case of superstition for some players or teams and they just don't choose to wear the number. I know that, I just think it's silly that people still have these superstitions in this day and age. It's like people who number their house 12A! I think in China number 4 is considered unlucky. People scared of these things need to get a life. It's interesting the myths and legends behind these things though. One theory I've heard is it comes from the stories of the Norse gods. Twelve of the gods were invited to celebrate the feast of Freya - the midwinter festival which marks the return of the light. Loki, the trickster god wasn't invited but he gatecrashed -making thirteen. To show his displeasure, he tricked the blind god Hodur into shooting the god of spring Baldur the Bright, with an arrow made of mistletoe. With no spring, the endless winter of Ragnarok started. Friday = frjá-dagr in old Norse - so Friday 13th is considered particularly unlucky.

  20. I see Killie are letting fans get their hands on the outgoing turf. If ICT did that, which precise piece of the pitch would you want? Incidentally, my lawn is turf from Tannadice. When the house was built, the first owner was a Utd player who got it when they replaced the pitch one summer. Thankfully it wasn't from the time their pitch was a barren sandpit.

  23. Terry Butcher was manager at ICT for 207 games (206 really as he was still officially manager when supping hospitality at Easter Road!). In that time he oversaw 86 victories, 57 draws and 64 defeats. We could ALL pull out examples of where he did well or where he did badly in those 200+ games to prove our own viewpoint. As I said elsewhere ... I thank him for what he did do at Inverness, it is appreciated, and I will look fondly upon that time, but he chose to disrespect us, the club, and his players in the manner in which he chose to depart and for that he deserves every little managerial pitfall and setback that comes his way. I will take a little bit of pleasure from each and every moment ..... until he is finally sacked from Hibs.

  24. I believe we are confirmed as finishing 6th after Falkirk lost to the Rangers tonight. Another top-six finish for the top team in the Highlands. But it's the taking part that counts of course.

    • Aaron Doran - Club Legend
Shameful: Thanks to Shane Sutherland, the generosity of friends, fans, former colleagues and opponents, Aaron has now had his operation. However it has emerged that he had posted on Instagram regarding his sad dismissal and treatment from the Board of Inverness CT who have treated Aaron in a similar way to which they have been treating the fans. Let's not forget that Aaron was due to have a testimonial for his service to the club.

    • Administration pending unless...
Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
