  1. Redcard has hopefully found us a pub for the final. Hoping to confirm capacity tomorrow and I will edit this post. To enable us to get an idea of numbers can you post your interest and how many approx in your party. Cheers!
  2. What! All 20,000 of us?
  3. The Clockwork is for Falkirk fans due to it being on their side of Hampden. Ive sounded out the Montford Arms which is near Hampden and can take us

In England, those teams dropping out of league 2 tend to struggle in the conference whilst those promoted out of the conference tend to be challenging for promotion the following season. Standards in League 2 and the conference are pretty similar. I expect we will find much the same in the Scottish system. If Montrose do drop out of the league they are certainly going to need to strengthen if they expect to come straight back.

Hi Ender You know probably more than most others the standard of non league football in England is very good as your team Chorley have shown us You could say that if Chorley were playing north of the border they would probably be too good for league 1 But you may know different I say again I just feel for long suffering football supporters like Montrose who nobody seems to care about. In the league formerly called the Conference there are a lot of teams, who for many years graced the higher divisions, I would be gutted if I supported a team like Grimsby or Lincoln City. All with good support and important histories. But in Scotland the league to which there is a possibility Montrose will enter is not much better than the Sunday league outfits we all played for in our teens. Of course you are right. Even the upper echelons of Scottish football are on a par with English pub teams and I wouldn't fancy ICT's chances against the Dog and Duck at Penkridge over two legs. I blame those naive, unintelligent xenophobic separatists

Nonsense. Can you substantiate this or is it just the usual hot air? What about starting with Montrose's record against non-League clubs in the Scottish Cup in recent years? I'm sure you'll find plenty of wallopings in double figures if your claim is worth anything.

Laurence I think you should make a point of getting out and watching some Highland League football. Or failing that get down to central belt and watch a Bo'ness Linlithgow match and then tell us its not much better than sunday league

Nobody on this thread had said we are in Europe. Indeed the first poster was wary of jinxing the thing. However, given that we won't know for sure the situation until the 30th of May, there is nothing wrong with people wanting to be aware of dates should we get there. If we qualify, and people want to go, time off will need to be arranged, and I guess people will want to make work aware that they may wish to take time off sometime in June.

Course it feckin is. Cheltenham spent years in the conference divisions and are now dropping down becos they were in the bottom two places in the Second Division - a fate that has hit many more established clubs. At least a supporter has just left them £250K in his will. Tranmere is even worse but again they have the wealth of the Palios family behind them and are selling off a lot of their assets. They actually look at it as a new beginning - who knows. I could understand that many Montrose fans may actually look forward to pastures new and the chance of potentially winning something and not having to face the same old journeys and visitors over and over again.
  12. Think they got it bang on and should encourage a really good crowd

Montrose have been languishing in the bottom division fer years. I cant recall it being said that they are in financial concern and they always had an active supporters Club. The club will survive and it just has to take it that they are bottom of the pile, go down and prove that they can swiftly return. Perhaps Marvin Andrews can call on the spirit world to support.

  16. I think the Clubs & SFA have got it pretty much spot on in terms of balancing income with affordability....and delighted they chose to do that in a manner which makes it more attractive to families and the younger generations. The only thing I would have done different is to charge the moany old feckers double

    When's the final?
  19. Mrs Gabby has already volunteered but thanks for the offer Roarer.
  20. France. My first Inverness match in 'real'. I think I will be the only French in Hampden.
  21. Celtic supporters solely have caused this entire sorry @ssed situation. I have followed ICT since the 3rd division and experienced many, many highs and lows over the past 2 decades plus. We have just reached our first ever Scottish Cup Final. We played better on the day. We merited our victory. Even if we hadn't, and we had won the game with a lucky 89th minute own goal, the fact is we have just reached our first ever Scottish Cup Final. The feeling on Sunday was fantastic, one of the best I've had on my ICT journey - now?... Now I'm just extremely angry at the whole pathetic shambles your fans have created. A great feeling that should have lasted all week, ruined by your fans because they cannot accept that they were beaten. Yes - the ref has messed up. Yes - you should have had a penalty. Was the handball deliberate? Not for a second. It's quite reasonable to believe that the linesman behind the goal thought the ball had hit Josh in the face/head. And that is what he told the ref immediately. Either way - he was still wrong. Unfair decisions have affected every club in Scotland. Every club in Europe. Every club in the world. Yet your fans have to go out complaining it's not fair, and demand something happens. And what has happened? - An honest, young player has been thrust into the world media, received disgusting abuse and been made to feel like a cheat. Josh is not a cheat. It was handball - it was not deliberate. - Our fans are left talking about this pathetic story rather than enjoying a fantastic achievement and an historic day in our clubs journey. - Scottish football had been made to look even more ridiculous. And who's caused this? Your fans. Your club. Why? Because you are nothing more than sore losers. This entire sorry @ssed, pathetic, embarrassment has been caused by your fans and your club. For years we've seen rangers claim they are too big for Scottish football - and now you're too big to lose in a cup game or to have a bad decision go against you? Your fans have damaged the perception of your club throughout Scotland and further afield far worse than a bad officiating error has tarnished our game. So you'll excuse me and many of my fellow football supporters if we don't meekly accept that you were right to do what you've done and if our club stands up for itself this time. As far as this poster is concerned you can f**k off and leave the rest of us to get on with things - you've caused enough trouble as it is. I now fully expect a warning or a ban from the mods for this rant. That's a ban that's acceptable and won't be contested.
