  1. I thought Vincent was superb. He kept chasing and harrying the County back four and the keeper and pressurising them into hurried passes and mistakes. He kept running and changing direction up front and making more space for Storey. Storey certainly caught the eye more and was far more effective on the ball but Vincent also made a massive contribution to our win.
  2. A big well done to the singing section . That was their best home performance ever and must have given the team a real boost.
  3. You should have stopped the car and made him get out and walk!
  4. Can see us retaining the Scottish Cup defeating Celtic 3-2 in the Final after Steven McLean awards a controversial offside winner for Inverness in injury time scored by Wedderburn. The ensuing Sun headline 'Nat King Goal'. David Raven will make a deep run on Britain's got talent, leading to a solo album which will break into the top 10. He'll then face an agonizing decision as Yogi insists he abandon his music career and focus 100% on football, as he did to Scott Arfield at Falkirk. Richie Foran will sign a new 5 year contract. Miles Story will break into the England squad and start dating Katie Price.
  5. Game only lasts 90 mins
  6. Highlights on website 2mins 20s on the Highland Derby. 4. 30 Strathclyde Derby 4.50 Killy Hearts 5.0 Dundee Derby 5.0 Celtic Partick. WTF Am I right in saying that you don't have to pay a TV license if you don't watch live TV as I need to consider my options and decide if I'm getting value for money with the TV license. What's next are they going to shut off the TV transmitter for the Highlands at 10:00 pm as we don't matter up here.
  7. I think it's what JV does when we don't have the ball that is impressive. He chased everything down all game yesterday, forcing rushed passes and Fox to miss-kick clearances - this helps to keep the pressure on. When we do have the ball, he's always making intelligent runs to leave holes for Storey and the midfield to exploit. When he has the ball at his feet he wins a good number of free kicks. What he probably lacks is finishing....but let's not forget that he did score the most famous goal in our history!
  8. Alex will usurp IHE and take the Seer throne
  9. Having got to the midpoint of the season, up to 6th in the table, what do people think 2016 will bring? We are now in a post Ryan Christie, Marley Watkins, Shinnie Bros and Mckay era, a period that saw us in the top six three seasons running and with a Scottish Cup win and a League Cup final apperance, and our first sortie into Europe to boot. It was a tough start to the season, with injuries, suspension, key players sold/not retained and little money for reinforcements....and irritably we've developed a knack for only playing 45mins and sitting deep on leads. Maybe that was inevitable, with a defence that has hardly been stable and new players taking time to blend in or just plain settle in. However considering what has happened at Dundee Utd, and also Motherwell (who finished 2nd in the league not so long ago) we may have done really well to avoid a potential meltdown! Arguably December has been a pretty good month going unbeaten with plenty of goals scored albeit with draws snatched from potential defeats and wins (but we would have taken a draw at Aberdeen before the start!).... and winning at Hamilton despite initially losing the lead twice, is probably a sign of the never-give-up mentality coming back. Good signs are the emergence of Polworth, Vincent still being fit, Devine developing as a solid defender. Williams has been a bit quiet recently (probaly suffering a bit as Mr Versatile in a shuffling line-up) but I expect him to push on. Tansey seems to be increasingly the rock that the team is built around, and Wedderburn now seems to have Yogi's confidence and seems to be putting in some performances. Fon-Williams has done well enough, although I am not convinced he has the fans confidence (am I wrong?) but it has to be a small boost that he could be going to the EUFA championship for Wales (albeit as an un-playing understudy to the mighty Wayne Hennessey) Question marks are whether we can retain Storey (we clearly want to!) and whether the now-fit Roberts proves to be the real deal, likewise Lopez-Robles and Mbuyi-Mutombo have much to do to impress. Vigurs has provided some impetus in certain games, but seems a stop-gap. I feel over the close season we may be looking at new full backs, as much as I like Tremarco, I don't feel Yogi sees either him or Raven as long term (or have I got it wrong with Raven?) A problem for us is that in reality with small crowds we have a very low income stream, and the SPFL as a package doesn't seem to generate much income, therefore player retention and recruitment is a bit of a lottery....I could see another sale in the summer being required to maintain rebuilding/regeneration, and the most valuable asset now is perhaps Meekings My hopes for 2016 would see us achieve a top 6 finish for this season which I would consider a mighty achievement. Scottish Cup wise... in reality cups are a lottery, it needs two goalscoring sources to improve the odds, but I don't see us getting beyond two rounds, and would take the top six finish first and foremost. For the start of season 2016/17 I would like us to go into it with a decent goalscoring threat (and one not on loan!) and a couple of fast overlapping fullbacks. Happy New Year to you all
  10. I vaguely remember Uncle Roy showing somebody round the stadium and neatly moving on to the Academy without making any attempt to correct the impression that it was all theirs. May have been Pr*ck Young but it certainly wasn't this year or even 2015
  11. Indoor facilities are used by some of the development squads every week. HOWEVER, ICT certainly got the short straw wrt the Highland Football Academy: The indoor facilities are what we really need and it's crazy having to send squads on a 30 mile round trip to get access to them. Added to this, RC clearly see these facilities as "theirs" (reference MacGregor's Sportscene piece this year). Indoor facilities are desperately needed in Inverness.

Never too old to play darts. Anderson into the final and a nine darter to boot.
  13. Sun 03 Jan 2016 Highland League M Laing (Cove R 3 - Inverurie 4) D Khutsishvili (Forres 2 - Wick A 2)
  14. That really would be "unforgettable".
  15. The Player of the year poll will show who was the real man of the match. Storey caused problems the whole game. Unlucky with the shot the keeper tipped onto the bar. I agree with Barry Wilson. We could have been two down before we scored. Let's not get too excited about Tansey's free kick. If you were not there, the ball bounced through and wrong footed everyone including the keeper. We'll take them all though. Great second half performance and 4-0 would not have flattered us in the end.
  16. Got to agree with above post Vincent showed 100% commitment and ran all over the park for the whole game. Rumoured to be our fittest player, and with yesterday's performance don't doubt it.
  17. Vincent MOTM for me also. The old boy behind me who'd had a few too many drams probably went for Raven as he seemed to think he and Vincent were the same person. Easy mistake to make I guess. Some engine Dave the Rave has - playing right back and centre forward at the same time. What a player.
  18. We were fortunate to go in 2 up. Looked very comfortable in the second half. County big money players looked very poor, Davies, Gardyne and Jackson were outplayed throughout by our more determined workmen players. I thought Vincent had a great game as he chased and ran all game. Definately an unsung hero.
  19. Great performance. Would go as far as to say on todays showing there isn't a single County player who would get into our first 11 bar perhaps Jackson Irvine. Pleased to see the manager shake things up tactically and abandon our usual possession game for a more direct approach better suited to a derby game. It was almost as if we carried on where we left off from the League Cup meeting in that respect - the same tactical switch turned the game in our favour that evening. Today was a textbook example of 'defending from the front'. Story and Vincent ran their socks off. Their left back could barely even get within 20 yards of the halfway line before being closed down by Polworth. Gardyne was shut down completely by Wedderburn and Tremarco doubling up, so much so that McIntyre switched him to the left to little effect. When we won the ball we got it forward FAST and had the County in full panic mode. Tanseys long passing was top drawer. Great energy from our midfield constantly getting forward to support the front 2 who held the ball up superbly. In the end it could have been 4 or 5, we were completely dominant. On current form only a matter of time before we leapfrog this lot and Saints IMO. Great start to 2016!
  20. Yes, in the first half things fell for us, despite County looking more dangerous although failing to bury any of their 3 or 4 decent chances. They were making inroads on the right against Tremarco and Wedderburn, who didn't look up to it and was wisely subbed early second half. After recent form, we were all expecting an onslaught in the second half with some nervy defending, but strangely it never came. Caley actually improved, passing much better, dominating the game and unlucky not to score more. Storey was a joy to watch, his ball skills creating options on both flanks, twisting and turning, leaving defenders in his wake. County obviously missed Boyce, but I thought the hype was they were a team. I was actually surprised at how poor they were when they needed to step up. Great result for morale, and for things to come this year.
  21. The bubble seems to have burst at Hearts and County and to a certain extent Aberdeen and St Johnston. Most teams go through a rough patch in a season so maybe this is the start of the rough patch for mentioned teams and that we have come out of ours and will now kick on with a good run of results. It would be nice to defend the cup but I think concentration has to be on the league and the aim 3rd place.
  22. What an enjoyable way to celebrate the New Year with a win against County. Well done boys, hope you have fun celebrating tonight. I have to say that the atmosphere at the game today was amazing. Section E in the North Stand sang for the entire game - I'm sure it makes a difference to the players when they are starting to tire and the rest of us enjoyed the sing song too. Thanks.

When Polworth signed an extension to his contract for last season, all i could see him being was a squad player like he has been in the past, also covering when players are injured. Players then got injured and he has come in, completely surpassing my expectations of his ability and his place in the team has been well merited this season
  24. If we can get Ross Draper, Josh Meekings Liam Polworth, Miles Storey, Grey Tansey signed up on longer deals, adding a striker to support Storey and a natural left back then I would say that would be a successful Jan transfer window. Offloading Lopez and Mutombo would also be an added bonus.
  25. Transfer window opens tomorrow, how worried should we be? Will The Dons be sniffing about or the Rangers ?? I see these two teams as the main threat for pre contract signings or will it be a quiet window with "just looking" signs up waiting to pounce at the end of the season.. First things first lets start the year with a win tomorrow. Wishing all at ICT and fans world wide the very best for 2016, May Good Fortune come your way.
  26. I can't see us keeping tremarco but I think Raven is a good a right back that we can get. Hopefully Roberts will impress but I'm not getting my hopes up for about the others! Hopefully we'll keep storey and get one or 2 in! The one thing I will say is that I'm still certain we can push for top 3 as we're only one place behind where we were this time last year! And that's after a struggling start...imagine what we could achieve if we go on a good run and keep our players fit... and a run in the cup to at least the semis would be nice...but I wouldn't say no to 2 big days at Hampden
  27. Miles Storey joined Swindon during Paolo DiCanio's time and signed a further contract after he left. Miles was always promising but seemed never to fit Mark Cooper's plans. He was loaned out, with little success, several times. Martin Ling has never mentioned Miles since becoming manager and our strike force is currently well balanced. It has been said that Miles is for sale if a fee is involved. His time with you is by far and away the best of his career and has expressed the wish to stay with you. I expect to hear he signs for you in January, I wish him well and will continue to visit this site to see how he does. Happy Christmas and New Year to you all. Mickeyr
  28. I agree, lucky to be 2 up at half time but well worth the win and it could have been more after the great second half performance. Vincent deserved his standing ovation when taken off, he pressed well all game. Tansey, Storey and Draper also very good, but Wedderburn really struggled on the left. Would have preferred Williams in that role. Anyway, the result was just what we needed!

Great to see Liam doing so well. In my opinion there is nothing quite like a truly local boy in the team to provide inspiration to youngsters in Inverness to follow their dreams and have confidence in their abilities, whatever path they choose to follow. I'm so glad he's taken his chance to carry on where Nick and Ryan left off and credit to the youth coaches for their part in nurturing local talent. All the very best for 2016 Liam and the rest of the team too. Thanks for an amazing year and loads of unforgettable memories.

I agree that Liam has recently shown massive improvement but he is a different type of player to Ryan. Yes get him signed for the future but I'm sure the manager knows exactly what length of contract he should offer so that he fits within his overall (reduced) budget. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see him having the same potential as Ryan.

LP has proved to one of the very few bright sparks over the last few weeks. I agree that we need to learn from previous mistakes and make sure that we either retain him for his best footballing years or we get value for him in the market.

A lot of people were quite disappointed when Nick Ross moved on but young Liam has more than stepped up to the plate. He's managed to force his way into the team and he's meriting his place in the team with his performances. Hopefully we can get him on a new contract pronto as he looks like he's really coming on to his game now.

As far as home grown talent is concerned, Liam's progress has been largely overshadowed by that of Ryan Christie and there is no doubt that young Ryan's progress from youth to first team has been more rapid and that he matured and developed more quickly than Liam However, after a couple of false starts, Liam is now coming into his own and beginning to show his true potential. Personally, I believe he may go on to be at least as talented and possibly even more influential than Ryan. For that reason I believe that one of the best pieces of business we do in January is to secure him on a three and a half year contract. Such is his potential talent I fear that he is bound to move onto 'better' and much higher paid things sooner or later but that way we will at least get full value for him when he goes rather than being somewhat short changed as we were with Ryan.
  34. Vincent was anonymous. Why hughes starts Tremarco ahead of Williams is bizarre. Sooner we bring back Pele the better, tbh
