  1. JH was the author of his own downfall at ICT. Managers will invariably push their chairmen for more money but that should have been kept in house. The moment he went bleating to his friends in the media he was acting entirely in his own interests and against those of the club. Richie has obvious shortfalls in his ability as a coach, at least for now, but there is no doubting that he has more class in that respect than Yogi.
  2. We will never know I guess but i cant see how you can come to that conclusion. He took us from 3rd place to 7th (only after a good post split run). Inverness should never push the boat out for any manager. The budget is the budget. Work within it. Simples. A club of 3,000 fans will never be able to sustain a decent team for more than a couple of seasons. Any talented players we produce or unearth will be poached by bigger clubs with more money. It is disappointing, but it is the nature of the business/sport.
  3. It's been well commented on in relation to many clubs over the years that unless you reach group stages then Europa costs clubs money.
  4. Curtis Allen scored for Glentoran tonight (17 Feb), in a 1-1 draw atCliftonville.
  5. Ryan christie transfer fee money for reaching europe ! Inever said the board lacked ambition i said they never matched his which may have pushed us in to a best of the rest fight we were a decent side under hughes! What sort of $$$$ was yogi asking for?
  6. My revised starting XI: OFW Raven Laing McCart Tremarco Draper Tansey Doran Polworth Cole MacKay central defence is a risk whatever we go with and better to go with Draper in a holding role. Tansey is better in a deep role partnered by Draper and the centre halves will need plenty of protection. Our best performance of the season against Dundee had Polworth in CAM. Doran and Cole offer pace and trickery to set MacKay away.
  7. For a start, it's nonsensical to suggest that the Board lacks ambition. Cash maybe... well definitely... but certainly not ambition. Where are you actually suggesting the Board would have got the cash to "push the boat out" as described?
  8. ICTFC memorabilia turning up quite regularly in Blythswood charity shop in Inverness. Another signed shirt came in this week. Brewster era this time. Apart from Craig Brewster, I can make out Richie Hart and Ian Black. Nice item for collectors.
  9. If our defenders play as if they've only just met, then at least this time they'll have a valid excuse!
  10. Welcome Louis, I hope you can help us out starting on Saturday!
  11. Nice one I thought Kevin was one of our strongest players early on in the season, and had he not been injured so early I think he would have commanded that back 4.
  12. For as long as we've been in the top league fans on here have been screaming at managers to stop talking us down with talk of survival being the number one priority etc. Even when Butcher and his successor would talk about being focused on catching the team in front each week people would ask for more optimism and ambition. Now we've got a manager who hasn't/isn't saying those things you'd think people would be pleased......but alas, it's not to be. The point is not about what should or shouldn't be said, it's that some people seem intent on criticising; regardless of what is said. Just for the sake of clarity, I'm not being critical of the support the manager/team get at matches. Those who turn up, home and away, have been great, IMO.
  13. Well, we definitely need a defender, but ideally it would have been a better defender than Laing (not good enough for the only team with a worse defensive record than us!) There can't have been many other realistic options, though, and he's now got an opportunity to impress - which is a pretty realistic prospect given the absence of solid defenders this season.
  14. Probably in the minority here but Doumbouya isn't very good. Not bothered if he is away. He seems a lovely chap don't get me wrong but as a footballer - meh.
  15. Yogi lost a few good players horrendous injuries also set him back ! Ye true defo need 2 have a budget itd be intresting to see how much he asked for all just rumours u hear! I think yogi gets a raw deal on these sites took us 2 europe
  16. In many very many respects we are not 'many other clubs' and, over the years, have been all the better for it.
  17. Fair play to yogi if the board had matched his ambition ie push the boat out for storey i believe wed have been pushing for europe rather than a relegation scrap true saying u only realized what u had when its gone
  18. Mackay is on loan at Elgin....and putting a keeper up front is a bold move.
