  1. St J are geographically much better placed than us but unlike us they do not rely on crowds for their major income. They have great stadium facilities that are used every day of the week giving them a major advantage financially over the likes of ourselves.
  2. I agree that what the Perth Saints have achieved is remarkable but., as far as miraculous is concerned, Perth and Inverness are not dissimilar in size but St Johnstone have been members of the Scottish Football League for over a century and took over a century to win their first major national trophy. After a hundred years of exclusion on increasingly spurious geographical grounds, we have achieved our league standing from a standing start just over twenty years ago and secured our cup in less than a fifth of the time it took them. If either team has created a footballing miracle it's us. I just hope this season isn't when that magic dust runs out.
  3. "Stand free"? In Aberdeen? No chance! They'll be charging at least £25 a seat.
  4. BBC highlights show that at an early corner Connor Sammon blatantly charging straight into Brad Mckay without even looking at the cross in order to stop him having a close shot at goal. This could explain why Brad later got angry with the referee and was booked.
  5. On the optimistic side, the two St Johnstone players will be banned for being red carded and won't play against us next Saturday.
  6. considering where we were 2 years ago, what has happened here is pretty tragic. Since leaving Bucharest it feels like it's just a constant stream of negativity on and off the park. We absolutely deserve to be where we are now. If we want to talk about stats. We've had 4 wins in the league all season and we need at least that to stay up. It's really straw clutching time now. The league doesn't lie and up to this point we have been the worst team. No sign thats going to change. Manager has his head buried deep in the sand, even last night going on about our winning run coming soon. The way we're going he'll still be going on about it in August. It feels to me that Something isn't right at the club just now and hasn't been for some time. Something needs to change for the positive soon.
  7. There are folk who point to St Johnstone and say that because there are similarities between Perth and Inverness that ICT should be doing at least as well as them year in year out. I'm saying that such comparisons are unrealistic because St Johnstone have over-performed over a prolonged period. You are quite right to point out that ICT have spent a small majority of their existence in the top flight, but that simply serves to demonstrate my point that ICT have also over-achieved. At the moment we have St Mirren, Ayr, Raith and Dunfermline all scrapping it out at the bottom of the division below us and all from towns of broadly the same size as Inverness. These are the sorts of teams we should be comparing ourselves with and therefore I think it is clear we have over-achieved over the years. My concern is that our recent over-achievement should not lead people to have unrealistic expectations for the future.
  8. You will get very tired of seeing this picture.
  9. not on supporters bus they're not.
  10. The appointment and subsequent loyalty to Foran are Board decisions that can rightly be questioned, but the statement I've quoted doesn't seem justified or fair to me.
  11. DD JH's results speak for themselves he doesn't need my support.
  12. Which is precisely what we were NOT doing under Hughes.

I find it amusing you think Tansey shouldn't feature now after his decision but it was fine for Christie to do so after he signed his pre-contract Change of heart or hidden agenda? Dougal

I think Tansey had an OK game today. I've seen him play better and I've also seen him play a lot worse. I think his performance suffered today from a bit of confusion around the make up of the team and its shape. I don't see any issue with his attitude for the rest of the season. I expect him to be in the side on Tuesday against Aberdeen and for him to be keen to show the Don's fans what a good player they have signed. I also expect the celebrations for his hat trick to be respectfully restrained.
  15. Nonsense. Fisher's chances usually amounted to substitute appearances and you could never doubt his work rate when he did play. I have no doubt his goal tally would be far better had he played more. Give me him over the hapless Boden and the hopeless Anier any day.
  16. How bad was Brad McKay ... and how good was McNaughton.
  17. Is Ritchie chopping and changing from choice or due to other reasons last Half dozen or so games we have Draper and Tansey I think suspended Macart cannot play due to loan deal Tremarco, Vigurs,Cole,King and Mulrahney injured at various different times.! so do we play the same players every week even if injured just to maintain the same team !!!!!!
  18. Where in the world is Fisher? Aside from Mckay, he's our best striker by miles. This ostracisation by the manager has to end now. It could have huge consequences both in terms of whether the club stays us and whether he'll still be in-charge next season.
  19. Have to disagree on this. That was not the only tactic we used but as time went on, we needed to try and win somehow so every tactic had to be followed. The key today was getting the second goal, same as the County game but we couldn't get it. We were the better team today and nobody will convince me otherwise. Sure at the end, we were hanging on a bit but we were chasing the game for a winner so had to take some risks which I don't think is being appreciated. The pressure Kilmarnock had was what we had for large parts of the game, no more no less. I agree we need some luck, which we simply are not getting at the moment but we are certainly not relegated yet.
  20. Turns out it was a problem with the tannoy system. Someone understood what the guy was saying. But don't worry it will be back to normal for todays game where you have to guess what he is telling us over the top of some weird music.
  21. Adam Rooney scored tonight (31 Mar) in Aberdeen's 7-0 pumping of Dundee. btw I am going to be out of the country for the next couple of weeks with limited access to the Internet, so my updates on this thread may be patchy (or non existent). I'll do a 'catch up' when I get back.
  22. Most of those players have ended up at Aberdeen via some other team. It's frustrating to see so many of our players head along the road specifically Hayes, Shinnie and now Tansey but what irks the most is that we've gotten nothing for these guys when we've lost them. At least when Dundee United have lost some of their best players to Celtic they've got some money back for them.
  23. Yes we know that, but what point are you trying to make?
  24. 1 win in 18 games is pathetic. We don't have the worst team in the league, we just have the worst manager.
  25. Of course the graph does not show the teams in the division below us. Realistically with our budget we should be a bog standard side in the Championship. We are over-achieving by virtue of the fact that we still have a decent chance of staying in the top flight. As for St Johnstone, they are really the miracle of Scottish Football. They are a club from a small city with a population less than Inverness and with bigger city clubs not far away, and yet for a significant majority of the last 60 years they have had a team in the top league.
  26. Who would have believed it but for the majority of our clubs existence our home has been in the top league.
  27. -1 points
So what do you think ? I said the same thing about Christie except we were not in the same MIRE then. I said the same about Shinnie. I said it was old fashioned ideology but you have to play for the shirt.
  28. The ICT board are to blame for the predicament we find ourselves in, I know I've called for Foran to quit on the matchday thread but they are ultimately responsible for putting a man in a managerial position without managerial experience An absolutely ludicrous decision and if Foran does go they should also stand down with immediate effect as they don't have the clubs best interests at heart Dougal
