  1. A very good three points, I just felt we missed the opportunity to get more goals, we took our foot off the gas a little in the second half . Mulraney was good in the first half but faded in the second. Glad Baird got a goal and you could see by the way the whole team celebrated it that there is a good team spirit in the group.
  2. A stroll to be honest. 4-0 going on 8-0, as IBM said, looked like a training match at times. Shooty in, jumpers for goal posts and three corners a penalty. Great start. They did hit the base of the post when a ball sat up nicely and was lobbed over Ridgers but struck the post with keeper beaten. Out of the blue really. We were in total control but got a bit slack at times, maybe it was too easy. However, never in doubt and the final two goals rounded off a good night. Oakley took his goal well, clipping a tidy through ball over the advancing keeper, a bit Stewartesque. Their burly number 10, Isaac Layne I believe was a robust fellow and he caused a few problems with his power, but overall, Donaldson was up to the challenge.
  3. We are all entitled to our opinions but I doubt there will be many who share yours on this. When referees realise they get something wrong they usually err on the side of the wronged team to make amends. That clearly didn't happen. If anything it appeared he wanted to punish our players for having the audacity to question his decisions. For example, for the brief time he was on the pitch Oakley was being held onto as though he was a life raft. A couple of times one of his buddie companions had such a hold on his shirt that half of his bare back was displayed to the referee. McKendrick ignored that but then pulled Oakley up for the slightest of tugs at one of the opposition players. It was quite farcical. Of course players need to show discipline when they are being wound up. Vigurs needs to button it at times but at least he didn't raise his hands to the opposition, let alone strike them. Samson wasn't the only St Mirren player to strike an opponent. Just before Vigurs' first yellow, Baird was pulled to the ground by a defender and then off the ball was given a totally unnecessary push in the back. In general I felt our guys were pretty restrained in the light of major provocation and shameful refereeing. As for Robbo's interview, there is a world of difference between being a bad loser and being honest about being cheated. I thought he was very restrained. Being too honest might have got him into trouble.
  4. Well you are unlikely to get an answer to these kinds of questions on here. Certainly not speedily anyway. Go straight to the source and you might have more luck and get an accurate answer rather than someone saying "I heard it was this..."
  5. Tree... you are a master of tact and understatement. Basically it's as big a Weegie stitch up as the one that kept Highland teams out of the SFL for decades.
  6. To attain Elite Level the costs are significant as is the wider infrastructure needs. Even at progressive level there will be significant investment and, for example, there needs to be a full time coach for each age group (Warren and Tremarco are to be appointed I understand as part of the coaching team). The club are investigating ways to provide a number of the requirements through partnerships with High Life Highland for example. There is a perception at least that the focus is not on having Elite level in the Highlands in any event.
  7. It was indeed under his stewardship that we ran up debts of almost three million pounds, well over twice our annual turnover at the time. Had it not been for that level of debt, the club would still be the principal lease holders for the whole of the land on which the stadium and car parks sit and we would not be having many of the issues we are now. However, just because he was part of the problem nearly two decades ago doesn't mean that he can't potentially be part of the solution now. Despite that history, he deserves a fair hearing on what he has to say now.
  8. Really good night's work, especially with the other results. Keep this up and we will gradually pull ourselves up to near the top five, so to be thereabouts with the second half of the season still to come would be very satisfying after the tricky start we had. Well done, Robbo.
  9. It's been dry pretty much all day so I can't see another inspection being needed. (barring a downfall of epic proportions in the next few hours !)
  10. If you have no more luck Kevin you could try asking Santa ??
  11. should this not be in the cjt thread?
  12. The fact that one of our "top" officials was fast-tracked while his dad was head of refereeing tells you all you need to know about the integrity of our officiating. The fact that this "top" official is useless, kind of underlines the point.
  13. I posted before I read the other pages and it seems that nearly everyone of us was of the same opinion as Rig and Doofers Dad whom I singled out on the first page. All I want to add now is that given fair refereeing till the end of the season our Team will be in the Premier division next season. The guts, determination and ability is there, yes an additional striker would be an asset if he is the right calibre of player but even without, barring injury, we can still do it. Finally don't fret Old Caley Girl you wont have to put your hand in your pocket if the video is watched by the Authorities, they will be too ashamed of their Referees performance and wont dare to reprimand Robbo for his words, afterall he was telling the obvious truth and it was plain to see if you were at the match.
  14. Nothing other than a home win will suffice. Bottom 3 going into Christmas is nowhere near good enough.
  15. Totally. One wayward tackle on Doran and the result doesnt bear thinking about
  16. That's excellent news & well done to everyone concerned at the club
  17. Sorry to hear if your loss Liz, such sad events are far more important than any football matters.
  18. Sometimes life is more important than a football club.
  19. A few hundred that is.
  20. Well no obviously not and that isn't what I've said anyway so I don't know how you've come to that bizarre conclusion.
  21. You could always ask the club? If they do another fans night head along and ask them there or write to the Chairman.
  22. The referee, the referee, the referee. Bottom line is We didn’t take our chances when we had them and couldn’t score any goals. If we’d played for another 4 hours on Saturday we still wouldn’t have scored. Mckendrick was poor but sadly you have to accept that’s part of the game. Vigurs should’ve been experienced enough after a very dodgy 1st yellow to not put himself in that situation. Samson took a chance and it paid off for him. He got our player sent off. He should’ve gone too but got away with it. St Mirren did a right number on us throughout most of the game. Almost all our players got wound up by McShane and they all fell for it. In regards to mckendrick I actually think he knew he got the penalty decision wrong then fell apart after that. I thought Robbos interview was totally embarrassing as were some of the ‘official’ tweets after the game. We sounded like very bad losers.
  23. Thanks for the advice. Maybe all future questions relating to the club should be made direct instead of on this forum.
