No matter how dire our situation, I sincerely hope that, as a family club, we don't stoop so low as to sign a player who has been judicially determined to be a rapist. If we did, I and my family, would not attend any games whilst he was on the books.

Well done guys coming back after Saturday's late equaliser. Just a pity Dumbarton are unlikely to do us a good turn. Two months ago who would have predicted an 11 game unbeaten run, cup win and 24 points out of 30 in the league. Just a great shame our slow start and the bad run with the sendings off have done for us, we should have been comfortably in the play offs. At least there is hope for next season. Hopefully we hit form before March next time.... I will definitely be renewing my season ticket.

I'm a Dunfermline fan. I was born there, although brought up in Inverness and currently live in Inverness. Aside from Dunfermline, I certainly have a sweet spot for ICT. As a football fan we are all guilty of thinking the referee is always against us whenever we don't win a match. Finnie has always been an appalling referee, and ask any Dunfermline fan and they'll tell you that Finnie always appears to have a vendetta against us, especially as he is from Falkirk. In reality he is just incompetent and over the course of most games he just about manages to infuriate both sets of fans. If the free kick for our second goal was soft (I think it was a definite free kick) then exactly the same could be said for the free kick for the ICT first goal. Talk of vendetta's from up high is just akin to old firm paranoia. Your poor start to the season is what cost you, always hard following relegation and in reality there is very little between almost all of the teams in the Championship. Take out St Mirren/Dumbarton and Brechin and there is very little between the other seven teams. If ICT can keep their squad together for next season then hopefully they'll hit the ground running. Even if Dunfermline make the play offs this season, I think the second bottom of the Premier League will win against which ever side gets through to the final play-off, so we'll almost certainly be in the same division next season. Same applies if we lose on Saturday and ICT win their last two games. Having moved away for 20 years and recently returned, one thing which does disappoint me is that ICT don't have a larger support. Not sure how that can be changed though.

All I can do is to reiterate that this now lengthy thread - on the strength of an unsupported, speculative post, with no substantiation whatsoever - began with a claim that an unspecified announcement was allegedly imminent. Very quickly indeed, this has been extrapolated to equally unsubstantiated speculation that this announcement will be about administration. Now is this a new administration....or the same one that rumour said this was imminent two or three months ago? Please note that I am NOT saying that administration, or indeed any of the other speculated subjects of this alleged announcement, is NOT going to happen. (And I will quote that last sentence in the event of any future "I told you so".) All I am saying is that what we have heard makes none of the speculated outcomes more or less likely since it is not accompanied by any evidence. For instance, a guy in the gym changing rooms has been telling me with total confidence that Dougie McGilvray is on the point of taking the club over. The trouble is that the guy has been telling me this regularly for the last three years or so. If Dougie ever were to do so, then I'm sure my informant will remind me that I heard it from him first..... in a manner similar to some newspapers when a managerial appointment is confirmed - conveniently ignoring the other 19 names they sprayed about that were 100% wrong. This present rumour may - or may not - follow a similar pattern. On the performance of the current board, I suppose it's inevitable that CaleyD should find so many deficiencies in it, especially compared with the previous one ....... of whose complete infallibility he spent so long advising the world.

So proud tonight to be a Caley Jag. When virtually all hope is lost we still pull out an away result against the Championship runners-up! We ... are ... ICT!

We will probably lose out to the Pars but, considering where we well just a month ago, we have done incredibly well to take our push for a play off place to the very last day. If we can somehow keep the bulk of this squad together we can make a real push for the title next season.

Have long beaten the drum about opening the west to standing, you could meet your mates every week, discuss the game and get an atmosphere going also for someone with athritic joints standing at a barrier is much more enjoyable than sitting. In a game v Celtic in the SC, (the game where they kicked our entire midfield off the park and we lost 2-1 McSwegan came on to play midfield!!) we were standing at the back of the open southern end of the main stand, a policeman came up to us and told us to sit down even though no one's view was being obstructed, when we pointed to the Celtic support and asked "what about them" the answer was "they will be sitting down in a minute" still not sure whether the Police/Stewards are too scared to ask the Celtic support to sit or whether there are different rules for different clubs. Frankly, were the club to ban me for something so petty I wouldn't be back. (I qualify this by saying I have no intention to block any other supporters view or enjoyment of the game) in my experience people automatically stand up when a scoring opportunity presents itself.

Scaremongering on this forum and elsewhere is unlikely to help in that regard.

Sounds promising. We're more than likely going to have to rely on a smaller squad next season, so players who have a bit of versatility will be vital.

Stranraer fans on P&B on Angus Beith When he came to us he was described as a deep-lying midfielder, and he has enough dig about him to sit deep, but really came into his own when the manager encouraged him to get forward and gamble in the box. By all accounts he barely scored in his previous loan spells and played a deeper role, but with us he scored on his debut, and went on to grab 8 goals in 14 games from midfield, all from open play. Seemed to love his time at Stair Park. Has an eye for goal, works hard, tracks back, basically an all-rounder and a great attitude by all accounts as well. If you can clone him you'll have a very good team.

Sublime strike from Polworth to open the scoring. Picked the ball up about 25 yards from goal and fired in a low drive the flew into the net. We should have added to our lead but poor finishing from Bell and Oakley meant we never did. Livi had a couple of half chances but never really looked like they would get a goal back. Not at our best but a deserved win in the end. Bit of forlorn hope for Saturday...

That is very true but when John Robertson first secured promotion to the SPL a decade and a half ago, he did so with a squad of players, largely recruited by Steve Paterson, who, even taking into account the effects of inflation, were paid less than the average is likely to be next season. Those were a group of players who were largely journeymen but were a great blend with fantastic team spirit. We have been promoted before on very limited resources and there is no reason why we can’t be again but recruitment and retention of the right players with the right attitude and level of ambition is key.

You could look at the pitch and see grass on it! Then peer underneath and see the Longman Aquifer...

Surely you can use the space for a bar and a museum with the displays being the decor for the bar. After all, from what I’ve seen there are already some pretty ancient relics in the bar!

What planet are you on? It’s not a good result, it’s a dreadful result which could well have dire consequences for the club going forward.

Got back early this morning from my trip up.....enjoyed the whole thing (except the 95th minute). It was a strange type of game from two evenly matched teams, I have to say the pitch wasn't doing us any favours, and even the ball seemed to be un-inflated, with many kicks sounding very flat (just me obviously). Dunfermline shaded the first half I felt, they certainly looked dangerous going forward, then we had a 20-25min period in th second half where we were on a different (higher) level to Dunfermline, particularly Austin, his goal was ...what can I say , 'Wow!'. Once he had to come off though I felt there was a subtle change in the balance of the game. Even then we had good opportunities to put the game to bed, and Dunfermline only really looked like scoring from a dead ball, but we started to sit back and give free-kicks away....just when I thought we had seen the game out, then cames the killer blow (it really is like watching my other team sometimes!). In the first half Tremarco seemed to be having a tough battle with their wide player, but got to grips in the second half, likewise Seedorf was poor first half but much improved 2nd. OK perfomances in midfield, great free kick by Chalmers, Trafford fairly solid, Polworth probably put in the bigger shift, Doran a bit slow at times, but a real threat. Not sure whether Mackay was the right substituion, earlier in the season Bell would have had been a sure thing, he may have gone off the boil a bit, but I still hope we keep him, as he and Mackay offer something different to Oakley (who put in a real shift) and Austin (who looks a really decent player, why did Fallkirk let him go??). I don't think Ridgers did much wrong (though not a convincing attaempt to stop the first goal...was there a deflection?), but he's gone from being very much written off as a goalkeeper at the start of the season to almost a cult hero....that's good work in my book! In theory we still have a very small chance of getting into the play-offs, but it needs something special from the Dumbo's and us to win our last two...even then the play-offs are a real long-haul, and would we be ready for the SPL?. In reality after the chaos and dismay of relegation and the close season, we have come out of this season, with a decent looking squad, with some really promising prospects, that given another season should push on to better more consistent performancesand a rekindled team spirit...I'm sure there'll be a couple of twists over the close season, keeping Vigurs would be great, but who knows. Anyway I'm already looking forward to next season, with a bit more expectation.

In the proverbial Feckin nutshell. Harsh perhaps but that may well have been a very apt way for our season to come to an end. As RIG alluded to how many more pressure games could we have tolerated. Well I was sitting in a pub in Chorley, watching Sky Sports, all the other Scottish scores fly through and the last Feckin goal has to be a Fife hairdresser. All good things come to an end they say. But hopefully April 2018 is a new beginning. And we now have to ensure that our pre-season shambles of the last few seasons are not repeated. Surely the battle call to all squad players at the present time is to stick together and dangle the 2019 carrot of the SPL in front of them.

You'd be well suited to a position in politics with your whataboutery and inability to deal with the point at hand. My post was not about whether or not their was any truth in the rumours....it was debunking the claim that they had no substance, by referencing the irrefutable comments from both chairman and manager. On that basis, there is justification for the fan expectation that the board make some kind of announcement/statement to clarify the situation. In fact, to quote the club board (as I have done previously).....http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/1974-board-statement-14-08-17 So they have identified that there is an ongoing issue about their actions (or inactions) in regards to communication fuelling speculation....and they haven't (yet) moved to dispel it. I've never once claimed the previous board were infallible....find a single instance of me stating that and I will delete my account from CTO and never darken it's door again.

And IF there's not going to be an announcement, what then? An announcement that there's not going to be an announcement..... setting an interesting precedent in response to future red herrings?
