but lets not erect the statues or canonise him just yet ! Scotty, Charlie Christie suggested there should be a statue to Yogi outside the ground and he could see up close the changes that JH made at the club. What irritates me the most is the fact that the style he imposed on the players was the correct way to go in my opinion and should have been the template for years to come whomever was in charge at the club. The other irritant is the refusal of many to acknowledge just what he achieved at the club, he fundamentally changed our style of play which resulted in our getting trashed by Dundee Utd in the SC but he kept at it despite the players inability to get it right at times. Even when we lost some of our best players and had horrendous injuries he kept getting results because of the style of play. JH's departure didn't just result in relegation it set the club development back years. By the way I loved the style of play under Pele but JH took us a step further where we looked like a proper controlled footballing team. The match against Astra (who were no mugs) without watkins and shinnie plus some injuries was one of the best performances I have seen from iCT despite the 1-0 loss.
  3. Only applies against Celtic, I’m afraid. Anyway, we won’t need it ?
  4. Does the SFA website indicate whether our special dispensation to have an outfield player make one save in the course of a Scottish Cup semi final is still in force ?
  5. And if you put the first two letters after the second two, you become one of IHE's former avatars.

  7. Thats a bit of a depressing post Cmon I tbink we have a great chance to have a real go at them. Hearts struggled against Partick and many of their own fans think they are s###. But then again you dont think too highly of your own team ? Couple of wee omens about our Scottish cup run Jordan White is the current top scorer left in competition with 6 goals only second overall to Dobbie on 7 Joe Chalmers has just won goal of the the last round. So cmon its not all doom and gloom. Lets make some noise and support the boys.
  8. Bunch of Jessies. We will win this game easily, Hearts are an utter gang.
  9. I wonder what user name will he use ?
  10. I'm amazed we appointed someone with any background in Scottish football, I was expecting the assistant manager of Pentangle or something like that.
  11. Some have questioned whether a club of our size actually needs a CEO. My answer to that is that it all depends on whether the club wants to grow and compete at the top level of Scottish football or whether we are content to be an average 2nd tier side with more chance of going down than up. The separation of the day to day management of the club from the strategic oversight of the Board is an important one. It allows those doing the day to day work to be properly accountable to the Board in a way which is not possible if Chairman and other directors are taking the responsibility for managing their own strategy. That works fine for a small, part time enterprise but not for a business where there is work going on on a number of fronts. I feel pretty positive about this appointment. Scot Gardiner brings a wealth of high level football experience to the club and, to me, his appointment demonstrates some considerable ambition on behalf of the Board. Not only does he have high level relevant experience to do the job and help other staff in doing theirs, but that experience should be invaluable to the Board in providing advice and information which will help the Board in formulating the strategic aims of the club. Of course, Mr Gardiner's appointment will not come cheap and we are a club in a difficult financial position. There will, therefore be an expectation that his contribution to the club pays his way and makes a positive contribution to the club's balance sheet. Hopefully ,as a football man, he can earn the trust and respect of those associated with the club in a way in which the previous CEO unfortunately could not. If he can, then this may well be a pivotal moment in the club's development. As we celebrate a successful first 25 years of the club, I sense the club is developing a more business like approach to the business of football. Of course we want to spend more money on the footballing side of things, but without a solid business structure embedded in the community the club simply won't generate the resource to do that.
  12. I quite like the early kickoff and late kickoff times. If anything let’s boycott the 3pm games which interfere with your afternoon and evening plans.
  13. Do we still have the receipt?
