  1. That's an impressive level of pessimism even for this site !
  2. Who can blame him for leaving with the amount of abuse he gets from idiots who don't know what a playmaker is.
  3. I'd be amazed if he stayed with us. Hopefully he can leave on a high, a fantastic servant for the club and a great player.
  4. Whether he stays or whether he goes he has been a great and loyal servant to the club. The boo boys may be pleased but they will be very much in the minority and if he does go our team will be the poorer for it whichever division we are playing in.
  5. And that's it confirmed. Polly is off to Motherwell on a pre contract. Good luck to him after his 8 year stint with us!
  6. the club cannot have anything to do with a testimonial due to tax implications.
  7. It may not have been pretty but, barring catastrophe, that point just about guarantees our play off spot. Important now that we manage our small squad and do our utmost to keep our discipline and avoid bookings during the last three games of the regular season. We can't afford to be carrying injuries and/or suspensions into what are likely to be very closely matched and competitive play off matches.
  8. Liam deserves to move on up and develop as a player. He may help us move up but regardless we should all wish him well in his career.
  9. It's in our own hands. No one else to blame now. Time for a performance on Saturday.
  10. Out of contract at the end of the season Owain Fon Williams Kevin McHattie Liam Polworth Joe Chalmers Nathan Austin Out of contact in 2020 Mark Ridgers Cammy McKay Brad McKay Coll Donaldson Carl Tremarco Jamie McCart Charlie Trafford Aaron Doran Tom Walsh Jordan White Out of contact in 2021 Darren Macaulay Out of contract in 2022 Daniel Mckay Can't find details on how long Sean Welsh or Shaun Rooney have on their deals.
  11. A good night for us. Dunfermline using up their game in hand and not making a dent on our eight point advantage. A shame being overtaken again by Ayr but the first priority is to secure fourth place and we are a step closer to that.
  12. With Polworth off, I agree we would need to secure Chalmers for another season but even more so Sean Welsh if his contract does not already extend beyond this season.
  13. doesnt really matter. I still think he has made a pretty big mistake as his game still needs work.
  14. Good luck Liam. You have been a great servant to ICT, and with the position our club is in,, you must look after your own future. Thanks again.
  15. Best wishes Liam. ICT since age 8, most assists in the division, .......and will likely still be a target for the boo boys come Saturday!
  16. Far better to be on top than coming from behind.
  17. Disgraceful attempts to unsettle our star player by the media before our big game this weekend.
  18. Let's also hope we are practicing penalties both for taking advantage of any we are awarded and also any potential shoot outs.
  19. He would still be with us for the play offs.
  20. They may well be, but they are our "Bombskares" Rooney cleared one off the line last night, Brad scores the winner at Ayr. Can't be bombthingys all the time.............
  21. https://ictfc.com/testimonial-to-take-place-for-ryan-esson 9th August last update
  22. Bombskares the two of them, McKay and Rooney that is.
  23. Whilst Yogi often tried to make a point about not having the depth of squad he would like by naming only four or five subs, I much prefer the fact that Robbo is prepared to give our promising youngsters that experience.
  24. 1 point
He didn't need replaced. What he needed was people above him who knew what they were doing.
  25. So it would have been a shock if Dundee Utd had beaten us? The team played well for the most part. Like other folk have said the better team won. The team gave it their best shot. Nothing for them to feel down about. It's over now playoffs are the goal let's secure them tonight.
  26. A decent right back. Not had one since Raven departed. Unless one of the youngsters can fill that gap.
  27. As you say, without being complacent, there is every ground for optimism. Assuming we fend off Dunfermline for at least fourth spot we have no need to fear either Ayr or United over two legs and whichever Championship side reaches the final stands a sporting chance against the second worse team in a pretty mediocre Premiership. Add the excitement of tomorrow's semi final and it's the best time to be an ICT fan in at least three years. Robbo doesn't get enough credit for what he has achieved with limited resources and a sometimes inept board of directors.
  28. red and blue stripes on our home top should be part of our identity.
  29. Some have questioned whether a club of our size actually needs a CEO. My answer to that is that it all depends on whether the club wants to grow and compete at the top level of Scottish football or whether we are content to be an average 2nd tier side with more chance of going down than up. The separation of the day to day management of the club from the strategic oversight of the Board is an important one. It allows those doing the day to day work to be properly accountable to the Board in a way which is not possible if Chairman and other directors are taking the responsibility for managing their own strategy. That works fine for a small, part time enterprise but not for a business where there is work going on on a number of fronts. I feel pretty positive about this appointment. Scot Gardiner brings a wealth of high level football experience to the club and, to me, his appointment demonstrates some considerable ambition on behalf of the Board. Not only does he have high level relevant experience to do the job and help other staff in doing theirs, but that experience should be invaluable to the Board in providing advice and information which will help the Board in formulating the strategic aims of the club. Of course, Mr Gardiner's appointment will not come cheap and we are a club in a difficult financial position. There will, therefore be an expectation that his contribution to the club pays his way and makes a positive contribution to the club's balance sheet. Hopefully ,as a football man, he can earn the trust and respect of those associated with the club in a way in which the previous CEO unfortunately could not. If he can, then this may well be a pivotal moment in the club's development. As we celebrate a successful first 25 years of the club, I sense the club is developing a more business like approach to the business of football. Of course we want to spend more money on the footballing side of things, but without a solid business structure embedded in the community the club simply won't generate the resource to do that.
  30. Please tell me this a bad attempt at a joke....
  31. Given our recent history with communication and keeping the fans informed, it doesn't surprise me that there's been no further formal update since August 2018. Also somewhat disappointing that the statement details the sponsors as the main organisers which is poor in my opinion, in this day in age where over-glorified testimonials for players in tops divisions are rammed down our throats, testimonials for players at our level and under should be just as important as they always were. Not only is it the fans way to say thank you and show their appreciation, it should also be a thank you from the club. While I have no doubt they'll be involved, they should be the ones driving it as they'll be at the fore front for taking the credit.
  32. In all honesty, we could be in with a chance of bottling it. The Pars have 3 games left, against QoTS, Morton and us. We have United, Alloa and Dunfermline. It could potentially go right down to the wire, as Dunfermline have a considerably easier road to securing Play Offs. Here's hoping they screw up on Saturday.
