  1. There was a lot of that some of it may be down to the pitch they had to work hard on to get the game played. The rest is probably down to a lack of quality. I don't think Dunfermline are any better that us. We seem to have lost sight of the fact we were half a dozen games in before we managed to get some injured players back. The big disappointment for me this season has been the Alloa performance and result. I reckon we are in a dog fight for 4th place Hearts will romp home, Dundee will get stronger, Dunfermline will consolidate and us, Raith, Ayr and Morton are eying up fourth place. Alloa, Arbroath and Queens will unfortunately be the strugglers.

Indeed! But when it is a decision by the Scottish Government that prevents us from attending ICT games then it’s inevitable that there will be some crossover into politics.

My 9 year old understands FACTS and likes to remind me of them from time to to time. So if people are 'confused' by them then I really don't know what to tell you... 😂
  4. Slightly disappointed with a draw, especially after seeing Dunfermlines starting line up. McManus, Whittaker, Dow and Thomas all left on the bench. Big game again on Saturday. Crucial to get 3 points especially with Dundee playing Hearts and Raith playing Dunfermline. We've got to capitalize on some of these teams dropping points.

I am not a Nationalist either. Boris Johnston, Bill Cash, Jacob Rees- Mogg and their ilk are Nationalists. I am, by contrast, merely someone who believes that Scotland should be a normal, democratic, independent country pooling sovereignty with other nations where appropriate. I have held this view for the best part of half a century when it was perhaps regarded as a marginal and rather quaint notion. Now, as times have evolved, it appears the majority and mainstream view, particularly among the younger generation. As far as the levels are concerned. The Scottish government were advised that the 3 tiers put in place were not going to offer sufficient flexibility to cope with a likely rapidly changing picture so, instead, adopted a system of 5 levels which has, thus far, stood the test. In contrast, England have had to introduce a tier 4, broadly similar, although not identical, to our level 4. As far as the FACTS campaign is concerned, it has not been withdrawn in it the clearest possible acronym and is well understood. The UK Government now pay for their hands, face, space message which FACTS predates by some time, to be broadcast in the devolved nations too. The latter, of course, omits 2 vital elements of the advice which me, in part at least account for why so relatively few people self isolate when required to do so.
  6. This season has a lot of similarities to last season. Very inconsistent. Some good results and performances and some very poor ones. Sometimes in consecutive weeks. Not sure what causes this. I think we can all agree the quality is there and when we click, it can be brilliant to watch. However likewise, we can look disjointed and lack any creativity at times. We should be aiming for 2nd as it's a huge advantage compared to 3rd. I don't think there is a reason why we can't get 2nd but need a run of wins now. The team must recognise every game is as important as the other whether we play Dundee or Alloa. This probably sounds like a lot of clichés but I worry we maybe raise levels for some games and not others.

To get back on topic, which I have been as guilty as any for straying from, I agree with Robert that we are unlikely to move from level 4 any time soon. Certainly not after the initial 3 week review. However, I am a little more optimistic about the medium term and believe that, unless this damn virus throws us another curve ball which is entirely possible, things me improve by late February/early March with more of the vulnerable vaccinated, more carrying natural antibodies and T cells from infection and the easing of the normal Winter pressures on the health service. I believe that we could see the return of fans, possibly in somewhat greater numbers, for the conclusion of the season. It would be good if ICT were still in contention for play off place and maybe still in the cup by then. Things will, without doubt, get better.

Something on which we can agree.
  9. Agree with Caley Stan. I think we will achieve a play off spot. However that was a hard watch with so many balls going astray and final balls being mince. Dunfermline are no slouches though

    Is this a football forum?
  11. An away trip to Buckie in my childhood still holds fond memories for me too. It was the first 'away' match I'd been to outside of Inverness, and I travelled on the bus with the Caley team. Can you imagine how exciting that was for a youngster? It came about because an elder sister of mine was friendly with a sister of Donnie (Ginger) McKenzie, one of Caley's stars at the time. I don't remember anything about the match, but I recall the bus stopping in Forres on the way home for the team to go into a bar. I had to stay on the bus, but was well provided for with crisps and lemonade. Happy days! 'Ginger' became a great hero of mine, and in later years, a friend, after he had emigrated to Canada, where I visited him (and his family) in Winnipeg on a couple of occasions.

Unlike some on here, I’m not a nationalist, but I think our politicians have handled the pandemic better than those down south, with clearer messaging from the Government and a willingness to be open with regular updates. We had level 4 before England had tier 4, and restricted gatherings better. We also seem to be proactive when we can, rather than reactive. Charles Bannerman’s update is a good reminder of the risks we face and the results we now face from the complacency that has set in. The positive tests are rising so fast in all parts of the UK that this wave will be much worse than the spring and we have not yet seen the impact of Christmas. I really hope everyone heeds the messages about Hogmanay. I agree with his view that enforcement is key: why have travel bans that are not enforced and therefore flouted. I know people who have spent time in other areas recently, for no good reason other than they wanted to, and I’m sure most others have similar tales of complacent selfishness risking the health of our families, friends and neighbours I can’t see us leaving level 4 any time soon.
  13. Reflecting on tonight, both teams under performed and struggled to keep possession. We seemed to concede a soft goal but nearly got right back into it when Sutherland hit the woodwork. At half time, we deserved to be behind, but the second half was much better and we deservedly got back to 1-1 and were the more likely to win. I always feel we are best when we play it quickly but too often we slow the play down and don’t use the pace we have wide as well as we could. Inconsistent as he can be, I prefer it with Storey wide and Sutherland through the middle. Storey’s goal was either quality or luck! Ridgers was steady. Mckay is being overly criticised in my opinion as he put a power of work in and got up and down the pitch: he is getting slagged primarily for one poor cross. Harper has had a lot of game time and is getting more confident. I’m not sure what Devine or Deas could have done to stop the goal, and Devine had one great stop. He was injured late on so we may need Mckay at centre half on Saturday with Duffy at right back. It is good to see Welsh back, but he is not at his best yet and I hope Carson is fit soon. Allardice was quite quiet and it took Vincent a while to get into the game, although a lot of his work breaking up play goes unnoticed. Doran seemed to suffer after his knock but Kennedy showed some good moves and needs to grow in consistency. Storey got us the point whilst Sutherland had a few efforts and on another night could have had two or three. Toddy and Mackay did not have much time other than the booking Mackay got. 2 points out of 9 is not good enough, but we are still in the mix for the play offs as no one is winning consistently. Our next two league games are against teams below us, so 6 points and 2 good performances please!
  14. I think you sent me a couple of pictures from that. Edit- yes, I used one in the summary of Caley’s Final Season. Shame I’m never going to have the skills/motivation to make a mobile version of the site. I thought I was doing well putting rollovers in 😂
  15. We had a pretty good 2nd half which was encouraging, but sooooo many poor touches, passes and crosses throughout the game.
  16. Lot of harsh comments on here, we seem to have turned into greetin old firm fans. Commentator getting more flak <<yawn>> Let's not forget there were two teams on the park, and one of them tried to stop us scoring. Red and blue stripes do not make us Barcelona.
  17. A point deservedly rescued in the end and it could have, and maybe should have, been more. In a truncated season, we remain only one or two defeats from becoming detached from the battle for promotion. Here's hoping that 2021 brings greater joy on the football pitch as well as on the health and welfare front.
  18. Don't know why.. it's awful, And screen score still has us as 0 -1
  19. Inverness is wonderful and bridge and castle are amongst our words....
  20. Great finish but I really don’t understand why we play the saints go marching in these days
