We got what we deserved tonight and it’s been coming as we’ve been struggling for a while now. That’s 8 points out of the last 18 which is mid table performance, so we need to cure this and fast. Yes the conditions were poor, but we were at home so should have been able to master them better than Arbroath. Yes the referee allowed acting and time wasting but the defeat was solely down to our poor performance and inability to create or take chances. Hopefully it is the kick up the backside we need to start getting positive results again before we slip further down the table. I’m also struggling with the MOM as no one rose above mediocrity. Ridgers would have been my pick for a couple of decent saves but I felt he was caught out at the goal. I may abstain this time round. As for the comments above about Carson, the poor lad has just lost his father. The club and fans need to show him support at a difficult time, as Mckay did when he raised Carson’s shirt when he scored against Morton. Now is not the time for gossip and rumours.4 points

Hopeless, Inept, clueless and that was the referee! ICT were not far behind, As has been said before we have been very poor and tonight showed that we are papering over the cracks. So many poor passes, and failed lay offs to nobody, and a complete lack of idea's in the opposition box. The ref was awful, truly awful, He lat them get away with murder, then ignored the time wasting **** of a keeper. Not happy.4 points

This is exactly the kind of gamesmanship you should expect from a part time side playing away from home only a couple of days after their last fixture. To combat it maybe we should try not allowing ourselves to get into a situation where Arbroath can time waste and feign injury to disrupt the game?4 points

With 4 draws already and no doubt well organised under Dick Campbell, we can't afford to lose the opening goal tonight. Keep it tight and take those chances when they arrive.3 points

I don’t think it is a coincidence that our winning run turned into this dismal run (starting with Hamilton away) when we lost Carson. Doesn’t bode well.2 points

We just seemed very tentative in the first half, as if we were waiting to get the wind in the second half. They were definitely snapping up the balls in midfield. Allardice is a big miss in there and def isn’t comfortable out at right back. The number of balls just lumped up to our forward line is a compete waste of time.2 points

Well done Arbroath, resisted the temptation to drop down to our level and outplayed us the whole night. Not a clue where we go from here...2 points

Found out at last. To be honest, despite our league position we have been honking for weeks and don't fill me with confidence when watching the games. Rubbish performances especially against 10 men twice and scraping results is not the sign of Champions.2 points

Carson isn't at the club because of a well documented family bereavement. Poor form to be speculating about any other reasons for his absence, whether they are true or not, at this time.2 points

Safe to say that I wasn't the greatest fan of the team he was most closely associated with but I was sorry to read of his death at the relatively young age of 73. He always struck me as a very decent, honest and straightforward man and was clearly a very good manager and coach enjoying enormous success. Sincere condolences to all who knew and loved him.1 point

Maybe the player of the match should be shared by the fans to braved the wind and rain only to witness that rubbish.1 point

I don't know where yo start with that performance. We lost the midfield battle, we needed three in the middle, two wide and play one striker. We certainly miss an Allardice or Carson winning the ball, but too many players just didn't turn up or made the wrong final ball. And I lost count of second balls We lost. It was terrible conditions, but Arbroath seemed to handle it better. We need to turn this bad run if form around quickly or my prediction of us ending up fifth will come true. Partick are the best team we have played thus season, so Dodds will have to get his tactics right for Saturday. Really disappointed tonight. Can't think who will get my man of the match tonight.1 point

Can you be fined for pretending to collapse unconscious to kill off time? Cos if so that rat at the end of the game deserves every book in the library thrown both at his face and his bollox. Makes a mockery of medical professionals and those who've died in situations like that, especially if you just hop up and act like nout ever happened.1 point

An absolutely inept performance and we got what we deserved - nothing!!1 point

I've seen some bad performances at the stadium but that must be up there with the worst. Horrible game. We never threatend, couldn't pass the ball and looked bang average all over the park. We showed next to no urgency and got exactly what we deserved. I might of missed the man of the match announcement or maybe whoever was picking it decided that none of our players deserved it. If it was the later I would fully agree with them. Every one of them was shocking.1 point

Feel like we could've got something from that had the Arbroath team not been full of chodes diving and "getting injured". Aside from that we seriously need to get a grip if we expect to gain points at Firhill on Saturday1 point

Apart from either side of half time where we looked a little threatening that was another awful performance. Why are we so poor? Apart from the second half against Partick Thistle we have not been great at all this season and somehow sit (or sat) top of the league.1 point

my concern is what happens to the fans voting rights if the Trust folds? Who's responsible for communication at the club?1 point

Be good to get 3 points tonight ahead of another away game Saturday. This is the kind of game to dig out a result to keep up momentum and pressure on other teams. Let's get Dick Campbell moaning on the touchline1 point

Matchday 11 A busy night of Championship Football has Arbroath heading North to the Caledonian Stadium for a 7:45 kick-off on Tuesday night. The Smokies sit seven points behind the league leaders in fifth place despite being the second highest scorers in the Championship, but four draws and two defeats have held them back slightly. The first game this season at Gayfield ended in a scarcely deserved away win thanks to a neat dinked finish from Shane Sutherland as he bore down on Gaston in the Arbroath goal. However, those defeats have come recently and we lost this one 0 - 1 in December 2019 when Luke Donnelly scored the only goal in December 2019. Fortunately, we won both home fixtures last season, but we seem to have difficulty breaking Arbroath down and end up clinging on somewhat. Changed days from the 7-0 results of yore. The two losses were against Inverness & Raith Rovers which tells you all you need to know about their resilience. Fixtures on Tuesday night Morton 19:30 Partick Th Ayr United 19:45 Kilmarnock Dunfermline 19:45 Raith Rovers Hamilton Accies 19:45 Queen of the Sth Inverness CT 19:45 Arbroath FC On Saturday we face a tough trip to Partick Last time out We laboured for a point against ten man Raith Rovers. Aidan Connolly had given Raith the lead but Sean Welsh drove through a ruck of players from just outside the box to earn the point. Disappointing given Raith played the whole of the second half with ten men and also had to replace to important players through injury. However, a point would have been acceptable before the game and no major damage to our title aspirations with Killie the only ones to close the gap. Here's the goals from Starks Park Arbroath had to settle for a draw at the weekend as Ayr United came from behind to get their point in a close encounter. Form player Michael McKenna opened the scoring ten minutes into the second half only for Jonathan Afolabi to level ten minutes before the end. No wins in the last four for Arbroath. Latest Team News Billy Dodds has been without David Carson for a few weeks through injury now and he has been on compassionate leave for a couple of weeks now. Cammy Harper missed out against Raith Rovers with a groin injury. As usual, little info filtering through regards injuries and availability. Dick Campbell has been without Nick Low and it's unlikely he will make this game. Joel Nouble was a big nuisance in the first game with his robust style and will be a danger. At over 6ft 3in he will be a problem for most defences. Here's Bazza The Caley Jags will face Morton at home in the Third Round of the Scottish Cup Third Round Ties to take place weekend of November 27th Unfortunately it's a bit of a damp squib for those looking to visit new grounds. I suspect the Morton fans will be even less enthusiastic given the tie will be played in the Highlands. However, it's a great opportunity to progress into the hat for the 4th round draw, alas, Morton will feel the same. View full article1 point

I appreciate that they have practical and financial benefits for clubs. However, games are never quite the same when played on them and they cause more injuries, especially to knees and ankles, than grass and, in my view, they should not be permitted in the top two divisions.1 point
