  1. DF has only a Plan A. No Plan B so more of the same totally boring football lies ahead. Well no rush to go to any ICT games as it stands for me. Add this to the s##t show behind the scenes and it's other things to be doing on Saturday afternoons for me indefinitely.

  2. It looks as though Ferguson is still going to insist on playing negative football this season despite it proving a disaster last season. What will it take him to realise the error of his ways? We definitely need a fresh manager with fresh ideas.

  3. Some positives today were Newman made some really good saves, think he'll do just fine this season, and Savage and Devine looked pretty solid together. Negatives are the formation feels too defensive for even counter attacking football, leaving Brooks up front isolated, then when we had Cairns and Brooks up top we refused to give them service. I get the impression we want to play this passing game up the park and around teams, but we get into the other half we leave too many behind and we get crowded out.

  4. Quite happy to let Raith to have ball outside the box and they've not really done anything, wee chance at the end for them but ball refused to fall to a Raith player. We look our most dangerous out wide thought we had a couple of chances to do something with the wing backs overlapping but we don't have enough bodies going forward so straight forward for Raith to clean up We're continuing this one touch, pass our way out from the back / trouble, which has looked ok at times but again we then have no one forward to attack once we've passed around the press

  6. I gave up on Portugal v France at the start of extra time. It reminded too much of watching Caley Jags game over the last couple of seasons. Sideways, backwards, sideways, forwards, sideways, backwards, backwards, back to the keeper, rinse repeat.......

  7. Still nothing on the away kit. So unlike the club to miscommunicate, say things and then go silent, leaving everyone shrugging their shoulders. People will start thinking we're an inept and disfunctional football club.

  8. From the P&J: Ex-Ross County midfielder Adam Mackinnon (No11), 21, was the main focal point as he was one of three new faces pitched in to Saturday’s friendly at Championship Raith Rovers, which ended in a late 1-0 loss. Former Rothes centre half Callum Haspell (No2), also 21, and left-back Flynn Duffy (No3), 20, who was on loan at League Two Peterhead from Dundee United last term, were also handed starts at Stark’s Park. The imminent departure of defender Nikola Ujdur, who has been linked to Queen’s Park, might free up funds for Ferguson to make signings. Last week, the manager said he also needs a third keeper in the door, but cannot afford to add one right now.

  9. It is odd though that the entry shows David Cameron resigned as a club Director in 2022 but only filed last week????

  10. HT: 0-0 - Ethan Cairns and Callum MacLeod on, Billy Mckay and Charlie Gilmour off Brooks nets but just offside, Jack Newton with a couple of great saves. Under increasing pressure this half... ICTFC Subs: Keith Bray and Calum MacKay on, Luis Longstaff and Trialist (11) off Paul Hanlon scored the winner in 86th minute having been down as a trialist. Robbie Thompson rolled his ankle before kick-off and never got on the park thereafter and Billy Mckay also took a knock.

  12. Raith's pre-season so far. East Fife 0-0 Raith Rovers The game ended 0-0 with both teams relatively happy with a good work out and touch-wood, no injuries. Next up for Rovers is a trip to Montrose on Wednesday before the only home friendly against Inverness on Saturday. Montrose 0-1 Raith Rovers Callum Smith with a second half strike was the only goal of the game but Ian Murray was impressed by what he saw when he reviewed the game later.

  14. Yes, I think that was the case. Didn't Morrison state that if the appeal is won and a buyer is found to develop and operate the site, the club would invoice the battery company for that sum? It would be up to 3 principal shareholders whether they wished to honour that as I doubt there is a legally binding contract. Also, they may wish to subtract any money that they voluntarily put into the club at the time of the transfer of ownership. The club could therefore still get a significant windfall from this, but it should not be making plans based on the assumption that they will.

  16. Spot on. Let's hope our youngsters know the way forward this season despite what Ferguson might dictate

  17. ICT only owns 1% of the battery farm company, so on the face of it it’s not really our problem (or asset) any more. Morrison/Munro/Cameron purchased 33% each for a total of £250,000 and will be the ones who gain if the project proceeds.

  20. To be honest, I think Tokes could be a very uniting figure. To the older fans out there, we remember him as a player through all 4 divisions. Every time we went up, people wrote him off, but he proved them wrong time and time again. Thats the stuff of legends and kind of embodies the ethos of ICT "punching above our weight" which if ever we needed, we need it now. To the younger players, he seems to have become a bit of a mentor, and they can likely relate since he has played in every senior division in Scotland plus the Highland League. I think he could be incredibly impactful because of that, especially if we have to rely on youth for a few years. If he were to get a highly regarded youth coach as an assistant, for example someone like Ryan Esson, then maybe that could be a dream team. [obviously players treated so badly recently coming back to the club would require several people in leadership positions - not just the manager - to be out the door before that could even be a possibility]. Slightly off-topic, but my son bombards me with football stats he has picked up and my answer to every player question is Ross Tokely! (except when he expects it and I say Bobby Mann or Charlie Christie). He hears it so much, that he has created "Ross Tokely" in his FC24 career mode, and he was won everything ... multiple Champions leagues, world cup, all of it with an average of 8-9 goals a game . (if only that were real) On the other side of the coin, even if he were agreeable to it, would we really want to expose him to what appears to be a particularly toxic swamp as his first experience of managing in the senior leagues? He has not got the managerial experience yet, and if it all goes pear-shaped due to circumstances beyond his control, or his inexperience, then I personally would not want to see his status at ICT tarnished because of others or because he was thrown in at the deep end without a lifeline. On balance, I have to say Ross Tokely - future manager of ICT... someday. just not today!

  21. The fact that the accounts have finally been published is good news. Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong, but my assumption is that the delay in submitting the accounts will have been because the auditors needed to be be persuaded that there were legitimate reasons for the directors to prepare the accounts on a going concern basis. It would appear that the accountants are satisfied that new investment is probably coming into the club sufficient to address the financial shortfalls. As always, there is little detail in the accounts, but what is there, is not good. A net loss of £588K is reported. Following relegation, our income can be expected to be considerably less in the coming year and the operational costs will need to be cut by more than the reduction of income if the loss is to be reduced. An operating loss is not necessarily a problem as long as there is a source of money to cover the loss. This is where things start getting worrying and where questions need to be asked. Under the heading of "current assets", there is a figure of over £1M against "Debtors". In the previous year, this was just £172K. So why the big increase? Who owed us the cash and has it subsequently been paid? I wonder if it is primarily the money we were expecting for the park and ride scheme associated with the hydro scheme project and which won't now be received? If so, that will make our net assets position around £1M worse than the 2023 accounts show. The accounts then show we owe over £3M to creditors. Does this mainly relate to loans made to the club by Morrison and Munro? If so, future investors will want to know how much if any, these 2 expect to be returned. The charges are still in place at Companies House. From my very amateur reading of the accounts, it looks as though there could be somewhere between £3 -4M required from new investors simply to get us to the point where we can start investing in the football side of things. That is a big ask of any "investor". Hopefully Morrison and Munro will write off the loans. It could be argued that if they can afford to provide the cash as a loan, they can afford to give it. Some might say that if they claim to have the best interests of the club at heart, they should certainly write the loans off as they must take much of the blame for the situation the club now finds itself in. And just an observation that the accounts were signed off by Scott Young on behalf of the club. Scott wasn't on the Board for any of the period to which the accounts pertain. I wonder why one of the others who were on the Board during 2022/3 and who are responsible for getting the club into its current position, has not put their name to them? So, whilst there is still serious cause for concern, the fact that the accounts have been signed off on a going concern basis is definitely good news. Let's hope for more in the coming few days.

  22. The fans at the ST meeting definitely made the distinction between Kelty or cost cutting at home. 2000 odd souls on the petition also gave Kelty the two fingers, and many of those would have a fair idea of what risks and actions would follow.

  23. Lots in this category, believing we have some divine right to sit at the top table with no substantial backer and a miniscule fan base.
    1 point
  24. "The fans" are not a uniform, homogenous group. Some fans have got some of what they asked for and others haven't. For some, playing a team of local boys, binning Kelty, the resignation of the chairman (presumably this forms part of the 'accountability' that is being demanded), and the future departure of the CEO will be enough to entice them back to support the team this season. Others won't be back until Duncan is gone, and some others won't be back until we are winning again and in a higher league.

  25. I respectfully disagree. The fans asked for a few things, including - Transparency, Accountability, Get rid of Gardiner, Get rid of Big Dunc, Recruit more local players. Of these, only the last has happened so far, although I suspect that was more out of necessity than fan pressure. Still, we've got a wee bit of what we wanted! Edit: Oh aye, we wanted rid of the Kelty nonsense. Got that too!

  26. Noted. Its great all these changes are happening at the club are coincidence with many of the directions that have been publicly voiced then.

  27. Given the tone of his previous interviews it seems he feels the fans turned on him and didn't appreciate the gravity of the financial crutch he was providing, so I'd expect he wants back now whatever he can. He's already seen as a villan along with Scot Gardiner rather than hero so why stop any attempts to recoup as it'll not change perception and if the club falls it substantiate his previous points.

  28. 100% - if nobody is putting money in then losses will continue to build no matter how much costs have been cut. Only a matter of time under those conditions before we start to default and eventually creditors take action on unpaid debts. Mechanisms for change have been put in place, the playing squad looks to be heading toward the indigenous youth route so fans are getting the movements they have asked for - unfortunately many are struggling with there being a transition process and it not being immediate.

  29. I guess it is a bit of 'Hobsons choice'....season ticket money and match day income, are practically the only income the club has, no major sponsor, no TV money, no prize money, no significant income streams. If everyone waits for SG to be out of the club, there may be no club to support. Think back to a year, there was an increasing call for 'Dodds out' because people felt despite a Cup Final and a play-off campaign the previous season, he did not have the wherewithal to get us out of the league...People got what they wanted and big Dunc came in and got us out of the league...the wrong way Our income levels have clearly not been enough over quite a few years and we are in very serious trouble....will we still be in existence this time next year and in a top four league at that? The board has rolled the dice to try and improve cashflow and none seem to have worked [or left us worse off] and communication is clearly a problem [keeping quiet is perhaps a panic measure to try and keep some control]. Who will come in now? I understand your position, but communally everyone is now 'rolling the dice' I reckon staying in League one and staying in existence will be a major achievement this year

  30. There is no return to consider an investment. Any money would be essentially as you suggest a 'donation' done out of someones passion for the club, but the events over the last few months would make that less appealing. Development of income streams sustainable from footfall, merchandise, advertising, sponsorship and better use of the assets for consistent cash generation is what everyone should be aiming for, with the bonuses of irregular windfalls from on field success and player sales - what is the club and its current incumbents actually doing on this? Expecting a squad of white knights to come flooding in with pockets full of gold coins the day after the big bad ogre leaves is stuff of fantasy and does nothing other than kick the can further down the road papering over cracks on a temporary basis until that pot runs dry and we are back in the same position. The best we can hope is that we can get the debts cleared and sustainability at whatever level.

  31. The club reducing player overheads further by negotiating releases for senior or experienced players should not be a surprise. While Ujdur may not be the highest earner I suspect we are paying accommodation etc so all adds up as a package. This cost cutting has been evident since January and if there are routes for other higher cost players to make way then its to be expected more might follow.

  36. Yep the Richie Foran experience certainly gives you the jitters when thinking about bringing back a club legend but I don’t feel Tokes is another RF - and I most certainly do feel he’d do a far better job with our youngsters than Ferguson - the bar has indeed been set very low now.

  37. Two words. Richie Foran. Would love to see Tokes in the dugout, perhaps with some combo of Doran, Esson, Ridgers, but that may be more sentimental than sensible. He has been quietly doing some coaching and hopefully gaining his badges (?) so if at some stage he feels he has amassed enough experience, is ready and has proven himself at his current level then why the heck not. I am sure he would crawl over broken glass for ICT as a manager given his history and loyalty to the club over the years. If we are using the current manager as a benchmark, then the bar is not that high!

  38. Whatever his perception of the fans may be, that should simply not be a consideration in this. As Chairman, he must take the responsibility for taking the club to the brink of administration. If he has any genuine wishes for what is best for the club and if he has a shred of decency in him, he will remove the charges against the club and write off all or most of the loan. From the concert company fiasco through to the current crisis, his behaviour recently has been such that I have lost any respect I once had for the man. Rather than fronting pie in the sky ideas for making money for the club, he now has an opportunity to do something which is 100% guaranteed to be a big help to the club. If he does that simple but generous thing he will earn back a lot of respect from a lot of people.

  39. Calling for the younger local players to be given more opportunity is not the same as asking for a squad almost entirely made up from them. I get that what we have is a result of the financial situation and I accept that but it is not what fans asked for. For me it's still preferable to the Kelty nonsense. The way that this situation was put to fans and then how things developed from there means that what was happening was choices being made. It may be seen as hair splitting but choosing least worst options is not the same as asking for something. The board, chairman and ceo are responsible for putting us in this hole and they can't be allowed to pin blame for the consequences of that on the fans. It's staggering to me that some people (not aimed at you) still want to put any faith in the current leadership to navigate us out of this. It's like some perverse form of Stockholm Syndrome or something!

  40. The club was being thrown off a cliff and fans were basically told they could have Kelty or Administration. Fans said they'd rather take a chance with administration than back a club that no longer connected with the local community. It was the club who then decided to go with a squad made up of a majority of young local players. At no time was this the ask of the fans.

  41. The charge was put in place long before any of this kicked off and the fans decided enough was enough. He was entirely responsible for his own demise and financial situation. Such a big ICTFC fan and hero that he'll now drag the club down with him?

  42. This pedalling of the 'fans are getting that they asked for' line is inaccurate and exactly the kind of bs spin that allows those responsible to dodge accountability. NONE of this is what fans asked for.

  44. Gardiner needs to go now . We are obviously paying him up until his supposedly resignation date that seems to be the secret of the century for some unknown reason by Grassa. Gardiner is CEO in name only, This guy is a fraud and has been at every club he has been to .He should be sacked let alone be given the opportunity to resign. Obviously strange goings on by the board who for some unknown reason are allowing this clown to drag them and the club further down this very dark tunnel .Not 1 board member seems to have a mind of their own which is alarming and disgusting . Why would the board hang on to him knowing very little money will come in whilst he is still here when the exact opposite happens when he is 100 % removed ? It doesn’t add up . The control freak needs removed .

  45. Does anyone know that if the appeal is upheld, ICT will benefit? I’ve read the appeal document, it seems like the applicants (?) have very good grounds here. I just can’t work out if ICT will benefit as a result.
