  1. I've been a big supporter of Vigurs this season and think he has been our stand out player. Yesterday I was less impressed and thought he gave a rather mixed performance. His free kick when he passed the ball to the guy at the end of the wall was one of the worst free kicks I have ever seen, but he also had others which were poor including some short ones when everyone had gone into the box. I was particularly concerned to see him and Warren having a right go at each other early in the first half. I have no idea what it was about but clearly that sort of thing needs to get stamped out. I sort of got the impression that Vigurs was sitting back a bit more as if he was protecting Warren. On the plus side, he didn't get booked. A more pertinent question is to ask about Warren's performance. Sad to say, but his best days are gone. We look far more assured at the back with Donaldson and Mackay as the central pairing. With a limited squad like we have, there will be times when there is really no alternative but to play Warren, but I think it is time to hand over the captaincy to Vigurs. I doubt that will happen but the manager certainly needs to get a grip on leadership on the park issues.

  2. Tommy ("Grass grows by the inch and is ruined by the foot"?) has a 30 year-long reputation for keeping and sustaining a fine football pitch. It therefore seems unlikely that the reason for the current state of the pitch has anything to do with the capability of the ground staff, but will far more probably be something to do with availability of resources.

  3. Oh my that certainly was a game of 2 half's first half game should of been out of sight , second half was shambolic and Fort William could have beaten us. I missed what Brad got the second yellow for and watched it back on Alba and he was very silly shoving the player while on a yellow if they don't sort out the lack of discipline teams are doing the homework on that. Pitch was awful just shocking and did not help . Have to give a mention to Polworth that was his best game this season more of that please Liam but back to Brad at RB is not good he is better at CB with Coll as Warren was a liability yesterday. So Final here we come lets pray the powers that Be make it somewhere fair to both clubs at a sensible KO time and lets get behind the boys and be there because there's no much else to look forward to this season being realistic the play offs are out of sight. P.S I miss Raven

  4. Thought Vigurs played well, apart from the penalty miss...

  5. We really made hard work of that, and the sending off, which was harsh, changed the game. I thought Polworth had his best game for us in a long time, and i like the passion he is showing, even though he picked up a booking. Good to see Elbouzedi back, as I liked what I saw pre season. I would like to see Bell and Oakley play closer together, no one seems to be close enough to pick up any second ball. The big test now will be on Saturday against Morton, and if we get in front, can we see the game out.

  6. I know one - Claggan Park (it's officially a public park). The campaign starts here!

  7. Oerth In the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game, Oerth is the fictional planet on which one of the earliest campaign settings, the World of Greyhawk, is located. Oerth has an axial tilt of 30 degrees, which would cause greater seasonal temperature variation than on Earth, were it not for wizardly and divine magic that shifts weather patterns to be more favorable to the populace.

  8. Just watched her 1500m short track semi final where she crashed out and got disqualified with half a lap to go. What is it with this girl? Is she just unlucky ? I don't think so. She was lying third with 3 to qualify for the final, with the others miles behind, when she tries to overtake the second placed girl and causes the fall which sees them both knocked out. Why not coast in for the remaining few seconds and get a definite final place? Doesn't seem that she has learned much from her 3 disqualifications 4 years ago in Socchi. Having said that, I hope she is not too badly injured (she left the ice on a stretcher), and that she is fit enough for her final event, and last chance for a medal, in a few days time.

  10. That and the hoards who board the ferry at Larne every weekend to watch one of the Ugly Sisters for reasons that are not always entirely football related.

  11. Simple - Glasgow is much bigger than Belfast which is only about the size of Aberdeen, 300000 or so and about double that with the surrounding area. Greater Glasgow is about 1.2 million. Only Linfield and Glentoran can draw over 2000. Ballinamallard are in the premiership but are in a village of 1300, less than Whitehill Welfare in the Lowland League. Warrenpoint is about the same as Brechin. Linfield may have some full timers though.

  12. By the way, if we are sending Brad off for what he did, Burns should have been off for a much more aggressive shove on Oakley late in the game. Anyway, what a bunch of greetin faced gits we have become.

  13. Odd comment to make considering nobody has been blaming the groundstaff. The pitch is clearly needing significant investment. Doesn't take a genius to work out that finances are the issue.

  14. The pitch is in a shocking state but I know it's not down to lack of effort by the ground staff and also know the club has no money to relay the pitch.

  15. Cut the groundstaff a bit of slack. Hard to prep/fix a pitch when the board won't (can't?) give them funds to hire in the equipment or get the supplies needed. They spend an hour at home on their ride ons a couple of times a year and think they know better. Shambles.

  17. we were night and day there first and second half. we could have went in 6 up at HT and in the second half we could have let in 4 or 5. We completely switched off that second half and very nearly paid the price for it. If i was Robbo i would be in the dressing room after the final whistle giving the team a boot up the arse! If we want to win the final we have to play a full 90 min game not just 45 mins. We looked like professionals the first half and a pub team the second. That being said its another final. So can the SPLF please not feck this final fixture up as much as they did the semi and give us traveling supporters plenty of notice to make arrangements or am i living in coo coo land where things make sense?

Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.
