The January transfer window is almost upon us. What business would you like to see us do bearing in mind our limited resources?

Despite our defences lapses, I actually think we have a decent bunch of defenders when fit and also options in midfield albeit with Tansey and Vigurs both struggling for form.

I would rather see us strengthen up front. I see that Rory Loy has been told he can leave Dundee on a free. While he seems to have lost his way a bit at Dens, I think he is a decent forward who could do a job for us.

Given the lack of game time he has had, I wonder if there is a possibility of getting Miles Storey on loan as well.

  • McGowan would be a solid signing but I'm not sure how focused on football he would be able to be with his father currently facing trial for murder.

  • Who the hell do you think you are? Some chance this poor lad has with you passing comments like this.

How about, instead of deriding the league he played in, we give the boy a chance ?

Adam Straith of Fredrikstad. Canadian international defender and has also player in the second tier in Germany.

Looks very much like our interest was leaked to the press by Murray's camp. The reason for doing so is to remind clubs of his availability and entice other offers, ie better offers, so he won't be joining us.

He's also an international goalkeeper! At the weekend he played the last 35 mins in goal for Canada, keeping a clean sheet in a 4-2 win V Bermuda.

You forget, we now have Nando's !

Dont know if i like this quote from wikipedia,  After months without a club, Straith joined Norwegian side Fredrikstad in January 2015.[8]

Two years ago?  Seemingly he's just left them.

He has but i wonder why he was months without a club before he joined them

There is an article on the STV website quoting the Sun as saying United have turned down a bid if £40,000 from a Swedish side as they are holding out for £250,000. Suspect that rules us out!

According to Wikipedia Adam Straith has signed for ICT

I've not seen it but apparently Foran, during his press conference, refuted any interest in Murray.

Yup we got about seven and a half seconds on stv news last night confirming this.

They were probably watching the game on Saturday prior to signing, and have now done a runner over the weekend

There's a potential complication for any ins and outs in that the for the final 9 or so hours of deadline day our players and management will be away at Hamilton!

"Driver, stop the bus at Broxden"

"What is it boss, do you need a piss?"

"No, I need a central defender and a creative attacker!"

You tease!! Please let this be true

This was kept quiet! Please let it be true!

Would love this to be true but I can't see it. He's still getting games at Oldham as far as I'm aware although perhaps he has dropped out of the starting XI recently. If anything I can't help but feel this is an agent trying to drum some interest in his client like the Simon Murray rumour last week.

Still, if it is true and we somehow get him that would be superb.

If we have the funds and intention to invest then this business should have been done prior to the Partick game.  Ludicrous to have a crucial game on deadline day and any potential recruits unavailable.

There could be any number of reasons why no business was done prior to the Partick game no fault of the club. With modern technology, there is no reason whatsoever why playing on deadline day will prevent us from bringing someone in.

At first glance I thought the return of Billy Mckay was just wishful thinking on our part. But then I looked at his stats in League One this season - 25 games, comprising 20 starts and 1,665 minutes on the pitch. Goal tally - zilch.

He's hardly hot property any more, and it appears that the only place he can score is in Scotland so it wouldn't be a huge surprise if all parties agreed that the best way to resurrect his career and resurrect our fortunes was to give this a try and see if it all clicks again.
